  1. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/7222001/Chris-Cadden-hails-wanted-Motherwell-man-Marvin-Johnson.html Aye, right enough, its only McGhee thats been talking him up, add to that Stephen Craigan whenever he is on BT Sport...this is a Club policy, talk our players up and hopefully we'll get decent money for him, next window it will be Moult or Cadden. Unfortunately, the current player we are touting has reacted badly in my opinion, hes believed the hype that we have been trying to make other Clubs believe.
  2. Agreed...I get that there are plenty people who didnt want McGhee back (me being one of them), but the guy is here now and clearly a better manager than the chump we had previously. Some of the stuff that McGhee seems to get the blame for, from supporters of his own club, is ludicrous though.
  3. I'd imagine, McGhee would have been told to talk him up by his gaffer, Steelboy
  4. The fact that there has only been one firm offer, shows how ludicrously over-valued the Club and most of the fans have this guy...I've maintained for weeks that we'd be lucky to see an offer of £500k come in, and accepted when it does.
  5. 'quadrupled' is what I've been told
  6. ah well, duped by Twitter then
  7. If its not official yet, he should get his balls kicked for standing on the pitch at Countys Ground with a Notts County scarf above his head
  8. Clay is on to a really tough gig at the moment, hes come into a new Club, and been placed into central midfield alongside a near-geriatric. I agree that he doesnt seem to influence the game much, he's neat and tidy and looks like he isnt frightened to make a challenge, but hes never a replacement for Pearson
  9. Richard Tait for me...he was half-decent, no more than that.
  10. Louis Laing has signed a 3year deal with Notts County
  11. Possibly, and while I have no idea of figures (of what he is/was on last this season or this, or what we'd be due in compensation), it seems like a dodgy game to try and play. Who did we think was going to sign him, if there was compensation involved?
  12. 'in the same mould as Moult and Skippy'...in what mould would that be given that both those mentioned are completely different types of player? As for Moore, I do find myself confused with this one, we gave him an extra years contract based on his form with Ayr, then we sign another striker and send him away for another season long loan to the same side (albeit in a higher league now), the boy is at an age where it really should have been a case of him being back up for Moult and McDonald, and being able to see whether he would sink or swim. We are now in a position where Moult and Blyth are injured, McDonald struggles to play up to on his own and the only other natural alternative is the young fella Mackin, unless we try and convert Ainsworth or Johnson to play up there in the meantime
  13. Tremendous amount for that big haddy
  14. Yes, Samson parried a few shots into Celtic players areas but by fuck he was worked hard last night. He was the only player, and I mean the only player, that came away with any credit. The defence were all over the place, the midfield completely non-existant and Johnson and Skippy utterly ineffective
  15. The Club will be stirring the pot, no doubt in mind.
  16. Ive had my fill of going to that cowp, sitting behind a pillar, listening to their 'folk songs' and arguing with stewards. It will need to be a really special occasion for me to go back there..
  17. What did he say? I couldnt understand a word of it
  18. they could give me a seat in the dugout and Id still avoid going
  19. it was a smashing ball, but he wasted far more
  20. I was absolutely bored rigid watching that last night...a combination of a shit crowd (which is understandable given, the type of night it was, the time of year it is and not being on the season book), very poor opposition and a bit of a turgid display. I quite like the format of this tournament as it gives a bit of interest at the start of the season, but the downside of it is games like this, where it really is a struggle to get excited about it. On the team itself, its hugely apparent how much we miss Louis Moult when he is out, even against lowly opposition like East Stirling McDonald can never be a loan striker. I thought Samson dealt with the little thrown at him well, and unlike most I'm relatively comfortable with him being our No.1 In defence, again very little to deal with I thought Heneghan and McManus were comfortable throughout, although I agree with Tweed that the formers distribution needs a fair amount of work as he was wasteful at times. Hammell, looks a bit away from fitness to me, or is it just his age? He struggled on the overlap and keeping up with the pace of our team. Tait for me, looks to be the most solid addition we have made over the Summer, hardly put a foot wrong and looked competent on the attack also. Midfield looks like it is going to be our big issue again this season. Clay looked composed and never really lost possession, but alongside Lasley (and I'd imagine even more so alongside McHugh), we lacked any sort of inventiveness. Cadden for me has a terrific engine and presence, but his final ball lets him down along with his decision making...which leads me onto Dom Thomas, the wee fella, needs to get out on loan asap AND bulk up a bit, the amount of times he loses possession by over-doing things must be absolutely infuriating for the more senior players. Marvin Johnson, was the stand-out player on the field and Scott McDonald would be better served trying to rein in his temper tantrums a wee bit.
  21. 2 central midfielders and our incoming work is done I'd say, the two of them need to be 'starters' with Lasley as back-up, Cadden also has the potential to play in there and then we can look at some of the even younger youngsters like Campbell to make an impression if necessary. Outgoings, I'd say Law and Chalmers time is well and truly up, Ainsworth has a decision to make, Watt and Thomas should be sent out on loan to the Championship as thats better than another season on our bench or in the Stand. Johnson and Moult are the only two that I could see bids coming in for.
  22. I realise that its Nicky Baw thats signed for them Stu...I'm hoping him and his da' can convince McCall to take the wee brother down there as well
  23. Haha, thats a fucking shock. Hopefully they need a shite right-back/kid-on centre-mid too
  24. Is Skippy away? The only stuff Ive seen is from that wanker Lennon, saying that he has been speaking to him
