4-2-3-1, is fine if you have the players to play it. Skippy as the middle of that '3', isn't working and the 2-man central-midfield of Lasley and Taylor is horrendously poor.

Got a night out on Saturday, so not going to bother with this. Instead I'll be at the big Lanarkshire Derby, Bellshill v Blantyre at Rockburn Park. 2pm ko gives me an extra hour to get myself looking immaculate.

Incredibly confused by this signing, i just dont really know what the thought process behind it is. Some of you have said that Ripley may be gone in January, fair do's, but why not wait until that happens and pick up another keeper at that point rather than pay Samson for the next 4 months as well? I'm a huge critic of Wee Dan, basically because he is never good enough to be Motherwells 1st choice, however I'm comfortable with him being the back up to a competent keeper, so unless we are about to tell Dan to fuck off, I dont see the need for Samson. For what its worth, I reckon Samson is comfortably better than Wee Dan. Can anyone tell me when we last had 3 senior goalkeepers on the books??? Baraclough can have no complaints as he has been seriously backed, he better hope he gets it together.

I'm not sure who to criticize for Taylor's performances... ...the lad himself for looking lost, uninterested, out of his depth ...Baraclough for bringing him in to the detriment of a couple of our young lads, playing him rather than Grimshaw and possibly playing him out of position in a midfield 2 ...Lasley for running around aimlessly, as Lasley does more often than not, leaving him in the middle all by himself ...the keeper and defence, constantly launching balls over the top of his head. The boy must have some sort of talent to have played Championship level football, but by fuck we haven't seen it yet

The Last minute goal only papers over the cracks. That was yet another truly dire performance from Baracloughs team and after backing him to the hilt, I'm afraid to say that I'm sick and tired of watching route 1 football and inept performances from certain players who look to be untouchable. Funnily enough, I had heard about the Dutch connection last week, and that one was indeed a striker. Thought that it would have been put to bed after we signed Theo Robinson right enough

I'd prefer to stick with Lasley than turn to Ian Black, and I'm far from being a Lasley fan.

I'd like to see us bringing in a competent right back as well as a central midfielder. Law is quite obviously the weak link in the backline, and needs replaced.

We are pure pish, there is no getting away from it. This week we've beaten East fucking Fife after extra time, after being a goal down, and managed to beat potentially the worst Killie team since Tommy Burns took over by a slightly dodgy penalty. Baraclough says the right stuff, and every time I listen to him I think, 'aye, I know where he's coming from, and he seems to have a plan', but by fuck we're shite to watch, and are a rip roaring certainty to be bottom 6 fodder again this season.

One of the worst games of football I've had the pleasure of watching...utter, utter shite, but I'm absolutely delighted with the 3points. It looks like it's going to be a long, hard season, so it's essential that we take as many points off the other shite teams around about us as is physically possible. Still utterly baffled by the signing of Robinson...we now have 5 strikers in the squad, we play our best one in midfield to try and protect our weaklink midfield, we only ever play one up front. Had Fletcher been injury free today, we'd have had a bench with 3 experienced strikers in its number. Robinson might be absolutely dynamite, but I still don't understand it at all because he will either be warming the bench or keeping Moult and Fletcher kicking their heels.

Thomas was clearly the best player on the park for the 1st 30mins or so before fading away...Kennedy and Chalmers strolled through the whole match, if pushed I'd have gone for Chalmers

Gary Locke will know all about Fletchers injury, extent and likelihood of making Saturday. Football in this country is a small business and the people within it talk to each other at different clubs.

+1 with Busta Dan is humming, plain and simple...McCall made an arse of it by signing him as 1st choice, on the back of his loan spell. If Ripley keeps making mistakes though then he should be hunted too, no matter how big and tall he is. This is similar to the discussion I had with Andy P on another thread about Sutton v Moult...just because Ripley possesses an asset that Dan doesnt (height), doesnt mean that Im happy with him playing shite.

Completely in agreement...this whole conversation started with me stating that I thought Moult was shite against Aberdeen, not once did I write him off completely.

Can anybody tell me what Lasley does offer the team these days? Can't shoot, isnt a great passer, never been much of a tackler, has lost any pace that he had??

Last season was a season too far for Lasley, let alone this one.
