  1. There was a time when I never thought I'd be delighted to see this wee prick return to Fir Park, but if he signs for us until the end of the season I WILL be delighted. He left under a cloud and on his return with Celtic reacted to the goading from the Well fans by kissing his manky Cellic badge in front of the East Stand. That will all be forgotten about though if he manages to score the goals that keep us in the top flight. Hell, our situation is that desperate that I'd welcome Neil Lennon with open arms if I though he could save us. Two issues though; 1...is he fit? 2...who will make the chances for him to score? With the best will in the World, Sutton has been shite, but he has had no service, what will be different for Skippy? Anyway, if it goes through it's got to be a positive. Welcome Back Scott.
  2. Going by the evidence of what we have had to endure this season, and the fact that ICT are half-decent I'm expecting a pumping on Saturday. I'd love to see Pearson and Hammell both fit and available.
  3. Trolls? As for Reid, he should be given the chance to prove his innocence...no need for any speculation from anyone on here until he is found guilty or otherwise.
  4. Does he know anything about tactics?
  5. Just bumped into Tommy McLean in Aldi's....said he'd come back to Fir Park anytime and that Baraclough is a charlatan
  6. Worse than ridiculous if true...although I doubt that was the real reason
  7. The General Manager shouldn't be interviewing the Manager for MFCTV, it's as simple as that...no matter what Alan's good intentions were, it just doesn't give the right impression.
  8. I've never been at a protest at Fir Park before...sound like a laugh.
  9. As bad a game as you are ever likely to see, we were utter shite from the 1st minute to the last...Dundee weren't much better. Only players in our team who I thought deserved credit were Grant and Long. I hate to say it, but Baraclough is looking out his depth
  10. Got a couple of juvenile comps for the main stand going spare if anyone is interested, give me a shout
  11. In terms of talent, he can't get near McKinnon or that cunt Boyd, but his consistency and service must put him right up there when talking about our best ever.
  12. Fair do's but i dont think Watt is the answer at left-back either
  13. The loss of Stevie Hammell (or should I say, our inability to replace him), shouldnt be underestimated, he has been a model of consistency since he broke into the team as a 17yr old and his importance to the team shouldnt be underplayed both defensively and as the man who often starts our moves offensively from the back. We've missed him hugely this season. As for Straker, he looked fucking hopeless at left-mid against St Johnstone, but I thought he looked semi-decent at left-back, although I wasnt at Ross County to judge further...I'd play my 5 year old lassie at left-back before Angol, so Straker will do me until Stevie is back. Absolutely no idea what to expect tomorrow in terms of team selection and to be honest I'm still trying to get my head around the new players names and where they play on the pitch. One thing I'm looking forward to though is having a look at our new keeper...
  14. I'm still 'Keeping The Faith', as Leanne would put it, and believe that we'll come good and stay up this season via 10th spot. I really can't understand the 'woe is me' and the 'end is nigh' attitude from some on here....make no mistakes about it, relegation will be a huge shock to the system, particularly for those that have never seen Motherwell in anything other than the top flight, myself being one, but to suggest that it will be the end for the Club, a downward spiral that we'll never recover from etc etc, is just plain nonsense and speculation based on absouletly hee-haw. We'll re-group, try to re-gain promotion and if we fail, we'll carry on trying in some way, shape or form ...we'll always have a Club to support.
  15. The closest you have got to a decent argument is the bit in bold. It can be a pain in the arse having to stand up/sit down umpteen times during a match, and for that reason I'd ban weans from drinking juice for up to 2hours before kick-off and for the whole 90mins....or introduce safe standing to allow people a choice. 1 or 2 pints of lager at half-time after an hour of having nothing, is unlikely to 'tip anyone over the edge', unless they are already mortal and therefore shouldnt be in the ground in the 1st place. More trouble my arse. The potential cost of the product isnt an argument not to have it, it will be at each 'customers' discretion whether they pay the price that Motherwell decide to impose...and in turn, Motherwells decision whether it makes economic sense. Remember, this isnt just about Motherwell, it may not suit the Club to sell alcohol, but it might suit Kilmarnock or Partick or whoever, it may be that its easy to do in the Cooper Stand but totally unrealistic to do in the East. Your 3rd point from your 'variety' isnt even a point to be honest...Murphy is stating that its his preference to see alcohol sold to the average fan at half-time only, so whilst you are buying a pie, you can have a pint instead of a Coke....IF YOU WANT.
  16. Gies a decent one out of your 'variety'...
  17. A powderkeg? Haha...name me more than 2 or 3 matches in the Scottish league calendar that can be described as a 'powderkeg'...Scottish Fitba', is in the main, absolutely devoid of atmosphere. You make it sound as if its all going to 'kick-off' because the Regular Joe in the East Stand wants to have a pint at half-time against Kilmarnock on a warm May afternoon, rather than a Cola.
  18. Any hospitality that I've been at in Scotland (Fir Park, NDP, Airdrie, Ibrox, Parkhead), do not serve alcohol at half-time, blinds down or not....maybe that was because I was plastered?
  19. As has already been stated, no one is advocating a return to taking your own cargo into FP. What Murphy is suggesting is that we should be able to buy a pint 5mins or so either side of half-time and drink it on the concourse, now for me that doesnt go far enough, but still the question has to be asked...how far out of your tits can you get in 15mins on cheap, watered down lager? As for the costs associated, well that would be up to the individual club to carry-out some research on whether it was wort it or not. I dont think it will be compulsory, its about the choice.
  20. Of course it isnt a hardship, but you can say that about anytime you fancy a drink. Is it really such a hardship to have a mineral water with your meal rather than a glass of wine? Lets ban bevvy altogether
  21. I'm surprised to see that the 'Status Quo' outweighs all other options in this poll, yet hardly any posts from those that say they dont want alcohol to be re-introduced. Strange that!! In the old days before alcohol was banned to the regular punter at the fitba', and before I was born, by all accounts supporters carried, often huge carry-outs into the game to be consumed for the whole 90mins...this isnt what this is about though, no one is saying bring a rucksack full of buckie and special brew through the bloody turnstile, its, as someone else put it, about choice. Do I want to have a pint whilst watching my team? In January, probably not, better with a bovril...in May or August, probably aye. Make no bones about it, Jim Murphy is a fucking toerag, an opportunistic wanker of the highest order, who thinks this type of petition will win him/his party votes...it may well do, but as a long-time advocate of re-introducing alcohol to the general football supporting-populace, I'm not going to change my mind because that cunt is driving it. At the end of the day, he'll have no power to go ahead with it, but if it gets the motion a head of steam, then alls good. I'd actually go a step further than what Murphy is proposing, and allow alcohol to be served throughout the whole 90mins AND for it to be consumed at your seat. Its allowed at English Stadia, Concerts, cinemas, at the darts, rugby, boxing, snooker, ...you can get a bottle of beer when you're getting your haircut these days, you can get shit-faced from 11am until 1am in any town in Scotland. Its tolerated at Junior football level, where guys do still take carry-outs with them...football is competing with all of these things, and its customers deserve the choice of whether they want to cool down in the Summer months with a pint or not. If someone is drunk, refuse to serve them anymore, if someone is acting lke a dick, fuck them out...its pretty simple really. As for the real issue...Old Firm Games (and to a lesser extent, other derby matches, or high risk matches as the authorities like to describe them) make them booze free. Time to treat paying adult customers, like paying adult customers....me? I probably wouldnt take advantage of it too often in any case, drive to most matches with the kids in tow, but I can see when people are being treated like shite and can have an opinion even if its not to my benefit as some on here have selfishly professed. I've yet to hear even a semi-decent argument against the halfway house re-introduction that Jim Murphy is advocating...someone mentioned our 'sick man of Europe' status on the radio earlier, and that we drink 20% more alcohol per head than that of our English and Welsh neighbours, and that this is sending out the wrong message...what a load of shite, society as a whole obviously has an issue with our relationship with alcohol, but football supporters being treated as neanderthals, whilst every other facet of society is free to do as they please is downright embarassing.
  22. From what I've been told, the boy from Everton and the boy from Plymouth have been excellent in training and appear to be the pick of the bunch
  23. I'm sick to the back teeth of missing games at this time of the season because of changes for TV...I bought season tickets, but any matches changed to a Friday night or Sunday lunchtime are impossible for me to get to because of Boys Club fitba'. The only reason I continue to buy a season book for me and the two kids is that I probably wouldn't go at all if I didn't have one. No wonder our attendances are woeful...
