Classy e-mail from McCall, really wish him well for the future. His record speaks for itself, but even he has admitted that he had run out of ideas and that his time at the Club had run its course.

Definitely cant afford to get relegated ....which is where we are heading under McCall
-
Imagine if we do get relegated? Utterly fucked
-
With this open letter sent out to all and sundry, is our Club well and truly fucked? I sure as fuck dont have 10k to give them a loan of and I really dont like the sound of this mystery buyer.

Fucking hell

When are we allowed to start worrying lads?? Tommy is only a phonecall away mind....

I dont think anybodys spoiled. We're in the mire and have to do something about it before we end up relegated

McLean has worked for Rangers and the SFA for periods since his last managerial position, Im pretty sure he'll have kept up to date with the game in one way or another. Even then, fitba is a simple game, he'd make us organised as a starting point. It obviously wouldnt be a long term measure and his remit would be to keep us in the league. I wouldnt imagine he'd be looking for a kings ransom either.

In what way is it mental?
-
I'd be more inclined to play a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-3-2-1. The middle man in the '3', has to play as close to our front-man as possible when attacking but be able to revert back in beside the 2-man central midfield when defending. The two-wide players must be pacy. The fact that Sutton can't play up top on his own shouldn't mean we dont play 1-man up front. If Sutton needs dropped, then drop him.

How much will he need to be compensated by? Assuming his contract runs out at the end of May, I make that 7 months of pay he will lose out on if he were to be sacked.....I have no idea how much he is paid, but for talkings sake he earns £2000 p/week or £8000 p/month. If he was sacked today, he would have a claim of around about £56,000. Now, I know we are absolutely pratted but that money is going to have to be paid between now and the end of the season anyway, and weighed up against what we'd potentially lose if we were relegated its chicken feed really. Again, though I do realise that we'd need to find additional funds for paying a new manager, but while the likes of Tommy Mclean wouldnt do it for nothing, I dont think he'd be horrendously difficult to deal with. A small salary beefed up by a bonus for keeping us in the league would be my recommendation.

Easy answer for me....'yes', we need a new manager. McCall just doesnt seem to know what to do as a Manager of a struggling side, his insistence on playing a 4-4-2 is worryingly naive. Our central midfield has next to no creativity and the fact that Lasley is so far off the pace means he is offering next to nothing in terms of protection for his defence either. Ainsworth and Vigurs continually leave their own full-backs exposed also. From now on if I were McCall, my motto would be 'batten down the hatches', make us difficult to beat 1st and foremost and go 4-5-1. This season has been a disaster before it even started... ...1 real pre-season friendly ...John Porteous jumping ship ...Leeann Dempster jumping ship, followed by the strange appointment of Alan Burrows as GM ...the signing of a midget keeper to vie for the No1 shirt with a giant dud ...signing Nicky Baws shite brother, no matter how little he is being paid ...still no answer to our left-side of midfield problem that we've had since Murphy left ...not really replacing Hutchinson adequately ...the opportunity to sign Clarkson and/or re-sign Faddy being passed up. I honestly think he has to go and get someone in to steady the ship and ensure we dont finish in that play-off place because we will get pumped off Rangers in that. Who will we get in that will do better? The worst argument I have ever heard in my puff when it comes to debating whether a fitba manager should be sacked. For a job like Motherwell with our recent success and full-time status, there would be potentially hundreds of candidates, it would be up to the Board (whoever they are) to ensure they picked the correct man.

Kenny Black was sitting with Bobby Jenks a couple of rows in front of me at NDP tonight obviously watching Aberdeen for next week. Wont have learnt much other than Accies are better than both of us and Joe Shaughnessy is fucking garbage

Saturday is the first game I'll be attending in months, so I've not really seen how bad we have been in that time. In general though, we can't have become such a bad team overnight, so you are assuming that at some point the players will get their finger out and play they way they should be able to. Nae idea what team I'd play, but I've said for long enough that Twardzik was never going to be a 1st choice keeper for us and I stand by that, although I'm not advocating starting Neilsen either. Over and above that, all I'd say is that I'd like McCall to play as many of his top players as possible but only in a system that suits the overall team. From what I can gather this season, there have been far too many square pegs in round holes. p.s. going to watch Accies-Aberdeen on Friday night too

I started to have my doubts about McCall when he consistently played McFadden on the left-hand side of a 4man midfield...Tommy Wright hinted at it yesterday, that he will play Faddy in his favoured position, which is up front (or off the front-man). Seeing McFadden track back to protect the left-back last season was painful viewing at times, our team should have been built around him, rather than him being a bit-part.

I'd class myself as part of the hardcore of Motherwell fans, but I've not been in weeks and can't say I've actually missed it, though the kids have. Never got round to renewing our season books for 1reason or another... Anyway, watched the highlights last night and we looked utterly clueless all over the park and for me it's time for Motherwell and McCall to go their own ways as I don't think he is the man to arrest this decline.

Great idea

I attended the Accies-Ross County game on Saturday (much to the disdain of the lads I usually sit with in the East), as my lad got a couple of freebies through his boys Club. Anyway, they are a very slick, very compact and very professional side....and on current form will absolutely ride us into the ground.

I take it Dom Thomas is injured?
