  1. Murphy, Higdon, McHugh and Ojamma can all play centre-forward/striker, so thats the last thing I think we need, particularly with the formation that McCall plays ie 1 up top. I'd prefer any money was spent on bring a centre-midfielder in to the squad or a wide man that would allow us to stop relying on bring Daley on.
  2. He is woeful and has been since he signed
  3. A couple of points on this; I coach an under 9s team and I would say 95% of our coaching is done with a ball at the kids feet, very, very rarily do we do anything that is intended to knacker them out. At that age there is no need, they're as fit as they going to be and in theory should be able to run all day. As you say, the coaches give up their time and do so (hopefully) with the best intentions, but I'd say that if the kids arent getting trained properly then they should be looking for a new team. As for raw talent; it is most definitely there and in abundance as far as I can see, we have a cracking wee team but most teams do have some lads who are naturally good at football, its just a matter of scouts picking the right boys and coaches getting the best out of them
  4. Same here. Thought he had their right back on toast in the 1st half, 2nd they doubled up on him and I thought McCall should have switched him and Ojama.
  5. Since we're now at the start of a new season I was just wondering which player was going to be 'het' this season as target for the highly acclaimed Fir Park boo boys? Last season we had Higdon getting slaughtered for playing up front himself and for not having the technique of Batistuta, surely it must be someone else's turn? It cannae be Forbes either because he's away, so it'll need to be somebody that's never had the treatment before. I think we can rule out Randy, Hammell, Hutch, Lasley and Law, so that gives us a real wide scope between some of the players who have the odd off day, one of McCalls Bradford chums or one of the youngsters who turns out not to be the new Faddy. I'd just like a wee heads up in advance on who those around me are planning to target. Any ideas?
  6. Could have gone for any of the starting XI other than Ojama and Humphrey who I thought were out their depth, although both put in a power of work
  7. Anybody with an ounce of sense would have known the potential queues. Walked straight in at ten past seven
  8. fuck cellic :wank: , c'mon the finns
  9. Going to any length to make sure our best right back is on the field is OK by me
  10. Wasn't at the game and probably won't see the team until the season prospers starts but a midfield with Hateleynin it gives me the fear.....it really does. We had a fairly reliable defence las season and McCall should be looking to keep it as consistent as possible. By playing Hateley in midfield he is weakening the defence further and not strengthening the midfield either. If we are going to the season 'as is' then Hateley and Hamell have got to be the full backs, Hutch, Page and Saunders can cover centre back. He then has a decision to make on centre mid beside Lasley - 1 from Carswell, Law and Hetherington - but Hateley isn't the answer.
  11. Please, not again this season.......can you not abuse somebody else for a change? For what it's worth, I agree with Jays team but can see McCall going with Law in the middle instead of Carswell with Humphrey starting.
  12. Seemed like a better passer of the ball anytime I seen him play
  13. He might think he's a better full back than centre-half but that doesnt necessarily mean that he will play him there given his lack of options in the middle of defence
  14. I would doubt that personally, I'd imagine that Saunders and Hutch will start as the defensive pairing at the back, with Page (and Cummins) as back up for that position. Hateley is our right back as far as I'm concerned, and the way I see it is that McCall either needs to sign a centre-midfielder to play alongside Lasley, move Law into the middle (which would worry me to be honest for a couple of reasons) or promote one of the youngsters ie Carswell or Hetherington to a more prominent 1st team role. I think he'll go with Law in the middle though.......
  15. Delighted about this....the Club has put OUR fans first...looking forward to getting season tickets for me and the boys now
  16. I'll look lik a right dick at orlando pirates stadium
