well thats one black mark against the great mans name then
-
No he never, but Tommy Coyne (with Rab McKinnon as his assistant) and Paul McGrillen both did. Big Buff had a spell managing a couple of Junior teams as well.
-
no, you type too much pish and it hurts my eyes
-
That performance is very concerning in my opinion. If we cant get up for a game like that with the knowledge that we'd be going into 2nd place if we had won, then theres something far wrong. Thought we were pish in the 1st half but I though McCall woulg give them a rocket at half time and the 2nd half would be a different story. How wrong was I? The 2nd half was an abomination and we fell to bits, struggling to give passmarks to anybody. Randolph would maybe have got them if he would stop fucking launching the ball straight at the opposition keeper and Humphrey was our most effective player but still has the same old failings that he had when he 1st signed. The rest were fucking dire (including the subs, although at least McHugh and Daley seemed interested) and if we play like that against the currants then we'll get a fucking doing.
-
He was shite today, no arguments on that score but you're being a fanny Steelboy, because he was surrounded by players playing shite today. It says it all when I consider Humphrey to have been our most effective player today. Looking forward to seeing your input on the 'Henrik Ojamaa is shite' thread (I make it 3 games in which he has been bollocks), the 'Stuart Carswell is shite' (he was gash today)thread, the 'Shaun Huthcison is shite' (he had a holocaust, as its known in the trade) thread and the 'Nicky Law is shite' thread. Incidentally, since you seem to want to castigate our top scorer for being shite for the past 5 games, can you please tell me when the last time Nicky Law (yes, the fans favourite) was not anonymous? All-in-all he was shite today, and I was frustrated watching him, but by fuck he wasnt alone.

Champions League Qualifiers Or Winning The League Cup?
ONeils40yarder replied to David's topic in Club Chat
That might be right, mate. I thought they were the 8th club but couldnt be sure Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Dundee United, Motherwell, Hibs, Killie and ???? (I'd guess at Dundee?) Regardless, only 2 non-city teams to have won all 3 and one of those only managed the hat-trick at the weekend. -
Champions League Qualifiers Or Winning The League Cup?
ONeils40yarder replied to David's topic in Club Chat
We've won every domestic honour in Scottish Football and I think only 7 other teams have done that. There are only 3 clubs in Scotland to have taken part in the Champions League, for us to be the 4th is something that we should be shouting from the rooftops. The League Cup is well out-of-date, doesnt allow you acces to Europe and you only need to win 4 matches to get the trophy. To gain entry to the Champs League is much more difficult and a far bigger deal in my opinion. Was still pretty jealous when I watched Killie lift the cup though. -
My papa always said that Aitken was the best player he had ever seen in 'Well colours and he could remember the league winning team!!
-
Think you could make a case for Jennings, but Hateley for as solid as he's been this season, he is nowhere near a top 20 'well players that I've seen over the last 25 years. Randolph Boyd Martin McCart McKinnon Lambert O'Donnell Jennings Cooper McFadden Coyne subs; Maxwell,Corrigan, Hammell, O'Neil,Davies, Kirk, McCormick, McDonald, Arnott That squad would win the league....

Since we've taken this away from purely watcing the 'well; I think every Scotland fan that went to Bari was melted. I was on 2 trains, an aeroplane and a bus (for 8hours) just to get there, and left straight after the game with another big fuck-off cargo - no wonder I cant remember a thing about the game or the city!! Other Scotland trips where I really would have been better staying at home include; Cardiff away - Berti Vogts era, thank teh Lord I cant remember anything about this disaster Norway away won 2-0 Dortmund - lost 2-1 As for miscellaneous others; Chelsea v Watford a few years back, watched the 1st twenty mins of the game because it was pish and hit the 1st boozer we came to. Ended up in my bed at 10pm with my chance of a night-out in London totally fucked. Sunderland v Arsenal a few years back, this could be the worst nick I was ever in at any game EVER. Taking customers to the game, they called off at the last minute so I took 2 of my mates and my gaffer, met at Haymarket at 8am, bevvy on the train, into Newcastle at 10am and hit the O'Neills next to the station, where my mate pulled out a bag of 'biscuits'. Melted by the time we got to the ground, we were sitting at our lunch (in our corporate box) when we made a pact to empty the mini-bar, by the end of the match!! I was that bad that, I got asked to leave for singing Motherwell songs off the balcony and was getting pelted with pies from the Sunderland fans below. We left and got a train back to Newcastle, where we got fucked out of 2 or 3 pubs and got a train and a carry-out back to edinburgh. We all split up when back at Haymarket. I fell asleep on teh train and had to get a taxi back to Bellshill fae Glasgow, one of my mates got hospitalised after getting a bleaching and my other mate got the jail for weighing in the boy who assaulted him. My gaffer managed to get home in one piece. Great day out Bellshill Athletic days out (home and away) were also legendary when I was in my teens and early 20's. Some smashing days out in shitey villages all over central Scotland.

Page. Delighted for him, because there has been major doubts over whether or not he could cut the mustard. Today he most certainly did, he was excellent. No real failures in the team today, although Humph frustrates the life out of me, I've seen Law play better and Ojamma seemed to be playing for himself at times rather than the team.
-
I was more than happy with McCalls team selection, as in my opinion he didnt have many other options particularly at the back BUT I was pretty worried about Page as I havent been impressed by him at all anytime I've watched him and teh fact that he was the senior man in the middle of defence worried me even more BUT I thought he was tremendous and easily MOTM and I think he thrived on the responsibility of marshalling the defence and he really helped Cummins (who was a credit to himself and the U19s) through the match. Thought Carswell, Jenno and Higdon all had smashing games as well, but two moments of magic from Hammell and Randolph won us a great 3 points.

I've got a list as long as my arm ICT last season when I got the wrong train home and only realised when the conductor told me I was heading to Wick Parkhead in 1999, when Twaddle scored and we hung on to win 1-0, spewed my load inside the ground but I think I was just excited - fuck all to do with the Buckie Easter Road Semi-Final, got fucked out the ground after about 5mins for being melted, somehow managed to get back in and got fucked back out again, so headed for the nearest boozer obviously and missed my bus hame. Thankfully the Central Branch took pity on me. Stranraer away in the Cup a few years back, swallying fae 8am, and managed to go into the ground with all my mates tickets, meaning they had to pay in again - not fucking popular Nancy Away, but I think everybody there was blazing Crusaders away a few years ago, drinking all day in teh knowledge that I'd get a bit of respite during the game, only to find that they were allowing us to buy a carry-out off them and drink it on the terrace Odense away, after 36hours on a bevvy bus Sure I've missed plenty but I dont want to come across as a total jakey
-
Exactly, cannae see the logic myself, just because he's big and can header the ball then he'd be ideal at centre-back?? Nearly as mental as the suggestion of just playing with Page at the back on his todd, with Hammell and Hateley at full-back If Craggs isnt fit, then its up to McCall and Young to trust one of the boys who have been playing and training (and getting paid) all season in the hope that they can make the break in to the 1st team. I've seen the '19s this season about 7 or 8 times and the boys at cb look pretty good, if on the raw side, but you'd be hoping that the likes of Hammell, Hateley, Randolph and Jennings would be able to help talk them through this match. Gie the boys a chance
-
Cannae possibly play a 3-man defence with 2 full-backs in it, bonkers stuff. I'm sure the physios will be working round the clock on Craigan and Hutch and one of them will appear on Saturday to play alongside Page even if not fully fit. Failing that, we have a few decent prospects at u19's in my opinion, Murray being one and the other being a Scouser (whos name escapes me) - both players are extremely raw, but I suppose the same can still be said about Hutchison.
-
As I've said, its two very big IF's at the moment, but if they come to pass then I will chuck watching top flight Scottish Football. We may have an opportunity to radically change Scottish Fitba, if we dont take that chance then they can shove it up their hoop.
-
2 totally different scenarios ML1, admin v liquidation, and you know that fine well . If Rangers were to come through Admin then I would have no problem with that and I think they will, but liquidation and the emergence of the Govan Redknees in the SPL is a totally different thing.....
-
Dont even need to think about this one.... IF the Blue Scum are liquidated, and IF the Blue Scum MkII are re-elected straight into the SPL (debt fucking free may I add), then I couldnt care less which way Motherwell voted, I will not be back at an SPL fixture again. Fuck only knows how I would explain it to the weans though. Morally, its is completely unacceptable to think that these fuckers can cheat their way to god knows how many trophies, buying players that they couldnt afford, not paying their taxes and all the while telling us that we are the diddies, they then go totally tits up in a way that Scottish Football has ever seen before and yet they expect to get straight back into where they were previously except £100 million better off??? Nah, fuck that, the SPL will be more of a laughing stock than it currently is and it will be the final act that tells me that Scottish Football is all 'about the Old Firm and to fuck with everybody else'. As I said on another thread, if we are adverself effected by Rangers plight, then tough fucking titties, in any sector a customer (and thats the way we seem to be treating Rangers, because they certainly arent a competitor) going tits up will have an effect on their supplier and we will have to cut our cloth (again) accordingly...........I would rather support a shite/skint Motherwell team in a decent and honest SPL/SFL than a good Motherwell team being chucked the scraps from the top table of Glasgow Celtic and Dynamo Govan in a corrupt top flight. Rangers going tits up (and having to work their way back through the leagues) could be the best thing that has ever happened to Scottish Football despite what the arseholes in the media (and boardrooms it seems) would have you believe.
-
Because we should be ambitious and be looking to strive for larger attendances, not capping our capacity at 8000
-
Why would we want to lock potential customers out during big games? 12,000ish should be the aim - not that I want to leabe Fir Park
-
A couple of flutes would go down a treat
-
3rd top scorer in the league? C'mon, just admit it and we'll leave it at that
-
C'mon Steelboy, it takes a big man to admit when he has made a Harry Hunt of himself
-
1st 45mins were woeful. My 'Man of the 2nd 45mins' goes to Higdon simply for the fact that he scored three goals, and he played out his skin in the 2nd half.
