Lets face it, the Cooper and South are still decent stands, if we installed the safe standing in the East (and sorted the roof , tannoy and pishers out while we're at it), that would leave only the Main Stand in a bit of a mess, could that be sorted and could we stay at Firry forever??

They have installed safe standing sections that can be turned into seating. I dont see any Club in Scotland taking on that additional cost to be honest.

I take it this safe standing, will have to be UEFA approved otherwise we wont be able to use any area allocated for standing in European competition? That will mean that it wont be a case of just ripping seats out and will in effect cost the club money for implementing the system? Which would lead me to suspect that we wont see a decrease in entry costs at stadiums with safe standing

Nope, the council dont have to give MFC any special treatment unfortunately, therefore if they dont manage to unfreeze the streets around Fir Park because they have higher priorities then it is up the relevant authorities (ie the polis) to decide whether or not the conditions around the stadium are deemed unfit for 4000 people to attend a match at the stadium. If you have a gripe its with the polis not NLC. Thankfully (on this occasion) the polis, trusted us to negotiate the many hazards associated with winter walking and allowed the match to go ahead.

I was delighted the game was on today and me and my 7 year old managed to negotiate our way from the Health Centre Car Park and traverse all the way back, without either of us decking it, and neither of us were "tippy toeing'. NLC canae possibly grit every single street and every single path on their patch due to logistics and timeframes. I'd rather take my chances with a few icy streets than see the game postponed because the H&S brigade fear a claim coming from some miserable fucker who slipped while 'tippy toeing' to Fir Park in his fucking hush puppies .

Was impressed by St Mirren today, and the fact that they came to attack allowed us to play a bot of football as well which has been lacking at Fir Park this season due to the negaitivity of most of the teams who have came. 1-1 was probably a fair reflection of the game, although Saints had a few decent shots well saved by Randolph while we had plenty of opportunities but sometimes lacked the killer instinct. Thought Higdon had a smashing game (glaring miss apart), flick-ons, hold up play and general attitude was spot on but I'm surprised his goal was allowed to stand as he was clearly holding their defender down as he rose to head it in. Thought that thug Goodwin bullied our midfield slightly particualrly in the 2nd half and his goal was perfection, but if the referee hadnt been an incompetent fuckwit then he would have had his marching orders in the 1st half, on the whole the ref was baws. p.s. Daley had a decent game and Murphy looked 100x better than he has for a while at home, but the less said about Humphrey the better, he was utter shite when he came on and picked the wrong option almost evertime he had the ball
