  1. I'm not even going to bother reading the rest of the replies to this thread, but I hope some of them echo my own thoughts. The comments above highlight the fickle nature of Scottish football supporters. This is the same Coke who was 'an amazing find' and 'our best player' earlier on in the season. It's been a long season for Motherwell, with lots of changes and a dire pitch at times. Coke has adapted to Scottish football well and has had a good season. It annoys me to see threads like this.
  2. Can we please have a statement from the groundsman and the company(ies) that we gave £350k to about ehy the pitch is like this? The club should be looking for answers - as are the supporters
  3. how the funk could any Motherwell player have got 8 out of ten yesterday?! what the hell did lasley do to justify that?
  4. Jennings easily for me. Craigan was solid, Ruddy did well, but Jennings was the only player on the park that did anything of note for me. O'Brien was running about like mad but go next to no service. A poor, poor game of football.
  5. is embarrassing totally disgraceful heckle of the day from the main stand was to a young groundsman 'make sure you don't put it down on your cv that you were a groundsman at fir park' what is the excuse?!
  6. I think this has been an amazing appointment and John Boyle should be heartily congratulated. Both managers wealth of knowledge can only be good for the promising youngsters at the club just now. If there is a lack of experience on the field - certainly in midfield and prior to Craigan coming back in defence I thought we lacked some experience there - we have certainly made up for it off it. The lack of experience really showed in the games we were playing against 10 men. The team panicked too often and points were squandered. Onwards and upwards.
  7. this is my favourite thread i really need to find out how to work the design thing so i can submit my own i remember as a kid i sent away designs to clubs in scotland and england!
  8. Interesting thread. Football clubs across the country need to think seriously about their pricing. In particular for younger fans. Back in the day of the Claret and Amber Club it was only £1 to get into games - brilliant. It's now a minimum of a tenner for an East Stand ticket for under 16's. I remember when John Boyle took charge and it was £5 to get in. Fir Park was a sell-out for a game against Dundee United with Well fans taking over the top half of the away section. The club should invite regular season ticket holders, corporate supporters and those that turn up to 10+ games a season to Fir Park for a meeting. Look to get ideas and opinions on what they want, what would encourage them to go more often, what would encourage them to invite others.... The loyal fanbase of season ticket holders keep the club running and it's important to listen to them. Personally, I'm not a season ticket holder and usually make 10 home games a season and the odd away. If season tickets were cheaper I would consider getting one, but I'd probably still not go to every game due to work commitments at weekends or having other things to do. Cheaper entry on the gate would certainly encourage me to go more often and I'm sure some mates would be up for a beer and the game if it was a tenner to get in. Maybe the club could make a limited number of tickets available for a tenner for every game - including Old Firm games... News ideas are required to get more fans to Fir Park to keep the club running. And it's important to listen to the supporters. It's a delicate matter.
  9. no chance we need someone with ambition and intent jeffries is not the man we need someone to take the club forward. someone who can make a name for themselves at motherwell and then move on.
  10. prediction - a tommy mclean style tartan blanket will be required for anyone going! bring on the proposals for summer football!
  11. ruddy - true quality in goals bit of a shaky defence quinn craigan reynolds hammell creative midfield with o'donnell for experience. foran pearson o'donnell mccormack the maverick genius of mcfadden alongside mcdonald. if mcdonald had decent service and support for motherwell he would have been outstanding - did well with what service and support he got mcfadden mcdonald

    Well Flags

for those with flags that can't be bothered taking them to games there is a very simple solution contact the club and ask them if they will store them for you. you can collect them every home game, and leave them there afterwards. this happens at premiership grounds and in europe. i'm sure the powers that be would love to see the stadium decorated with well flags for every home game - as long as they were non-offensive. if anyone at the club is reading this, could you confirm if this would be possible?

    Aberdeen

Strange to see Forbes dropped from a few team selections. He didn;t do much against Hearts other than his goal. But he is good for a goal, especially when he gets the chance to move forward. I'd also like to see Murphy start up front with Sutton dropping to the bench. Give him a chance to run at defenders and see how he gets on. PREDICTION - McGhee to get pelters
  14. He could do with a regular run in the team.
  15. More ammunition for Well fans against McGhee next Saturday! A move to Aberdeen would be a sideways move for O'Brien. I accept that he'll likely leave Motherwell, but he should be looking for the the Championship.
  16. I wouldn't give many players passmarks for Saturday's performance. We were poor. In the second half it looked like it was Accies that had the extra man. Our defence couldn't cope with that big guy they had upfront. And our midfield was a disgrace. No-one was taking ownership of the game, no-one was demanding the ball and looking to create anything. O'Brien was the only player who looked likely to create something. For his goal alone I would have to give the MOM to Murphy.
  17. well done everyone looked great
  18. think it was st johnstone that they beat maybe someone can confirm if that was the case
  19. the year 'well got promoted from the 1st division. 84 i think my cubs ran a trip to the game gary mccallister was playing. i remember my first bit of banter at a well game when someone shouted at him after he went limply up for a header 'aye you watch your hair mccallister, don't mess it up.' i think well won 4-0
  20. i've started sitting in the main stand, must be getting old. great view. no neds. don't have to wait that long for a pie. yeah, i am definitely getting old
  21. If you're thinking of travelling by car to St Mirren on Saturday, it might be best to think again. Major roadworks started at the weekend for 3 weeks and the tailbacks were horrendous. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display...2532525.0.0.php
  22. just saw this on bbc what a knob! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgo...est/8286672.stm
  23. It was clearly evident today that Motherwell lack options upfront. Gannon has been fantastic so far and it was good to hear the supporters chanting his name when 'Well equalised. I hope he is scouting for a striker on-loan or someone who is out-of-contract. If Sutton gets injured we will really be struggling.
  24. Hibs have players that can create and score goals. They have options upfront, options on the bench. Sadly, Motherwell don't. I thought Coke looked tired today and Forbes wasn't himself, played pretty deep at times. Gannon's program notes hinted that the players were exhausted after the cup game. McHugh had a nightmare when he came on as a sub. But a week to recover. Then Falkirk at home.
