I don't think hately is a centre mid at all and I would play Fizzy in there every time. Or Forbes. I've never been huge on Saunders, he has impressed at times but I think his place should be Tom's. I'm the same as most, fucking hated the game and could not wait for it to end. I'm afraid I only got annoyed with Humphrey today when he walked along the east stand crowd looking at us in despair as many headed for the exits. Had it been any other player I might of been shouting don't look to us mate!.... but I remembered he does bust a gut. He just doesn't have to pay to watch total half assed dross. As others have said though, we have been shite before and we will be shite again I thought we would miss Jenno today and we did. Again, as others have mentioned, the word 'imposter' entered my head when watching Gow/Bambi dance about in the park. He makes me miss O'Brien - he should be running about like a headless chicken dictating things in the final third, he looked like his mum had been shot and he was lost in the woods. He needs some perspective or a dose of reality or something... perhaps a bog wash in the east stand urinal? Onwards and upwards. Please. Gargle gargle.

anyone know the ticket office hours for today? the official website is down

Who needs the law when you have Paul McKenna eh

No you saw arson today in Glasgow, that's a very different thing

Interesting is all I can say Pony, but I think broadcasters would be more interested in meaningful or high profile games throughout the season as opposed to one big orgasm of exciting football at the end. They don't have the schedule space for it. They wouldn't do such a thing to the Premiership, they far less likely to here.

Why involve the league winner in a play off at all? Other problems I can imagine would surround the amount of EL places up for grabs each year, is that number not going down again soon? What might be interesting is a top 2 play-off along with a europa league play off, just to determine the level at which each team would enter their rightfully earnt competitions. That way there is almost guaranteed an old firm finale to every season which I'm sure would go down well and keep TV interested

I admire the theory, but I'm missing the point. The league winners are 'Champions of Scotland' then play for another trophy.... which of these has the bearing on European qualification?

Uh-hu, well I made my case for what it is to be 'realistic.' I don't think it's unrealistic to at least try to find that loyal man, plucked from the wilderness. Realism is indeed subjective, no arguments there.

Wrong, wrong and wrong again..... Mike Small, Chris Short, Andy Roddie and Pele

So you are saying its not impossible then aren't you. Gotta be pedantic. What you are suggesting is what I want and I'm sure many others would, in a perfect world. I'm agreed it's not so likely. Pearson and McFadden must of had quick managerial spells at Motherwell, I must of missed that.
-
And as long as they give us a few years first surely? I'm going to add fuel o the Bop speculating. Someone told me 3 big names Bop had mentioned to them recently.... now if only I could remember what they were...BIG, BIG names as well.

I disagree. It is possible to find a loyal manager who has the same ambitions as the club if you look hard enough. It may be unlikely, but it isn't impossible. I'm sorry but I don't buy into the idea that all good managers are 100% guaranteed to see us a stepping stone. I think too many of us are bogged down in our pessimism. Seems like an epidemic among Motherwell fans. Dare to dream people, let's drop the cynicism. Negative thinking begets negative results

OK that was a lazy post. I thought it might make a clear point. I actually agree with all of your objections, however with Alan Stubbs, a complete unknown quantity, we shouldn't be expecting him to move on within a year or two, what does that say about us! We have been a feeder club, many of you want us to accept that and are happy with it. Fine. No I don't want an avergage manager who stays for five years and takes us nowhere. Obviously. But I would like something like a 3 year run of success with the one manager, a little bit of stability is all I ask, not a lot. Is that so unfair? I don't think a new manager every year does us much good. Does anyone honestly?
-
I want the next Motherwell manager NOT the next manager of Everton or any other club.
-
Not sure I agree that it was a total waste. Our pitch looks amazing. It's been a bowling green all season with few signs of it becoming an embarrassing tattie field.
-
Agreed. The 80s began over 30years ago - 30years! That is a long long time ago. I want to list all the major historial and cultural events that have happened in that time and hand it to an aberdeen fan to show them how insignificant they are in the pale of things.... but it would take me almost as many years to do it.

I'm wary of McCart. He is undoubtedly the man when it come to the youth ranks. What do we know of his tactical ability, leadership qualities, transfer market savvy etc. I'm not saying no yet. Just want to make a wee note that Collins seems to be the fans favourite. I know more people have checked the Someone else box but that could be anyone, so the people those intend that vote for probably arent as popular as Collins
-
Fair enough, I'm not far off agreeing with you then really. Maybe it was the wording. I see Rangers and Celtic as the only 'comfortable' top six team. 4 other places can battled out by a much greater number... Motherwell, Dundee UTD, Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen (when they get their act together), you can't deny Inverness this time round although they are not regulars. (last season st johnstone were courting top 6, so there is always one outsider) So my point. At the start of the season (not right now) there are usually about 6 teams fighting for 4 places. So I think we are a comfortable top 8 team.
-
Lets not suffer from delusions of grandure like our wooly 'friends' in the north. In recent years we have been top 6 on 3 out of 4 occassions but we will never be 'comfortable' top six. It's a bit of an insult to other decent sides to assume so. A kilmarnock or a st mirren are only ever a couple of signings or a solid manager away from us. We are a comfortable SPL side without a shadow of a doubt though. I'm not too worried about many of our players heading north. Where we have suffered from disloyal managers we have comparably prospered in loyal players. I always feel, as long as we have craigan, lasley and hammell we are Motherwell these days.
-
I agree wholeheartedly. I was a big fan of Gannon. I felt a bit stupid thanks to the revelations after his removal from the club. I think Collins is or could be what Gannon wishes he was. I say go for it. I believe our players are a unique group, open to experimentation. I think we are in a position to experiment. We don't have expectant fans. If it goes wrong we are unlikely to be relegation fodder. It's stick or twist and I say twist. Both Brown and Mghee left because they felt there was nothing more they could achieve with us. They were right, we have been punching above our weight and its been great, but in the name of enjoying the rollercoaster lets try something different. Let's try John Collins.
-
Barring the stupidity of it... Its not even possible to mobilise Motherwell fans in Aberdeen in that way simply due to numbers. Imagine a pathetic 70 well fans marching through the centre of Aberdeen during the christmas period. There will be more people selling the big issue than chanting 'we are the motherwell fc' - fucking embarrassment!
-
Trying to pick my favourites and to be honest I dont think its much to choose from Gaag and Adams stick out. Ive never really got the Nijholt puppy love, Obviously I can understand him being seen a legend but that was before my time and therefore before any player in the current squads time... I doubt his legend would impress them much - I'm open minded enough to be told I'm wrong?
-
And Templeton, he had a good game... I watched it alba... an indulgence I know
-
I'm sure will at least talk to him
