  7. It's a tough call because i have never seen Motherwell lift a trophy, having said that I've never seen them play in the CL and certainly never expected to see that in my wildest dreams so I'm voting for the CL. We have the opportunity to lift a domestic trophy every season, granted we have only made 2 finals in my time but I still think that this is a one-off to be savoured.
  8. that wasnt my point - if we don't play, we can't be beaten by killie and will have a game in hand that keeps us mathematically in the title race so the OF game isnt a title decider right? even if celtic beat rangers, we would still mathematically be able to catch celtic? needless to say I havent bothered doing the maths and am probably completely wrong.
  9. If the game was called off then doesn't that mean that the OF game isn't a title decider? Isn't it the outcome of our game that decides whether it is a title decider? So call it off, just for a laugh.
  10. even when you delete a comment on twitter a trace of it remains so there would still be evidence.
  11. Did you forget about the 5 post split games?? So if thats rangers out of europe, the rest of the top six stand to get in depending on scottish cup winners - so we are most likely 2 points away from guaranteeing european footy. (both our posts say the exact same thing, your's is idiot proof, mine isnt...) But yeah 2 points is completely wrong, I couldnt be arsed doing the maths

  13. anyone who is out of contract in the summer should want and be offered a 6month extension to play european football with the intention of moving on in the january window, doesnt seem too complicated or far from the common sense option to me. That would be in the players best interests and the clubs best interests surely.
  14. Opponents - hookers in the dam you obviously go for the eastern europeans!
  15. Definitely definitely definitely want Ajax! Easy and affordable to get to so huge support and a great city. I would take dutch, belgian, greek or portuguese - in that order. Please, please, please let it happen.
  16. Thats how I remember it. I wouldnt compare the two teams either - again it was a different era. I think it's the PRIZE that's different this time around, particularly given the financial climate and the lucrative tournaments available now. That's why I say it's once in a lifetime.
  17. I remember being one of the believers at the time and gutted at that St Johnstone game, was it Billy Dodds who scored? If it wasn't il need to figure out another reason why I've always hated him so much. This is my point though, I never expected us to be anywhere near as good as that again and, well, we ain't far off it now! So it is a rare chance worth grabbing by the scruff of the neck.
  18. Yeah im old enough to remember that far back thanks - that was a totally different era in scottish football wasn't it, Celtic were guff at the time, the league was smaller and we were pretty darn fantastic il grant you. It didn't mean champions league back then did it.
  19. I've been looking into all the possibilities for euro qualification and frankly some level of european competition is guaranteed at this stage which is already enough for me - as far as I'm concerned we can play with total freedom for the rest of the season which can only lead to good things. If rangers are ruled out of europe and any top 6 team wins the cup - top six is enough for european qualification. There is no way in hell we are finishing this season 7th. Euro footy should be wrapped up by the end of march and its just a case of sitting back and enjoying the rest of the season, wherever that takes us. One thing I will say is that this chance we have to finish 2nd is a one time affair - let's give it everything, we may never have it this good again.
  20. I would love to say go for it against celtic, but our record against the old firm in recent years shows that doesnt work - if we play to our usual strengths they will pick us off no problem, particularly in their current form. We have turned around 3 great results in the past week, I think its time to mix things up, rest some forward minded players and play with a more solid cautious outlook.... then bring on fresh legs against dunfermline and set on the goal trail again. Common sense says its time to try a different tactic at least.
  21. Absolutely buzzin after that result! 12 point buffer in 3rd! bobby dazzler! If ever there was a time to be playing for a draw against celtic I think this is it - they are flying and we can afford to drop a couple of points - stifle the game and get out unharmed. A boring 0-0 draw and a point to the tally please.
  22. Lanark for 18 years, Aberdeen for 5, Lanark for another 1 and Glasgow for the last 2
