Another point to consider would be exposing someone so young to the kind of language you get in the stands. I started going when I was 7 and I dont think that did me any f##king harm.

I honestly think that we dont need to bother with any injured or dropped threads this season. Gannon clearly likes to rotate his squad and Im sure everyone will feature at one point or another. Some of the midfield players that havent been featuring (mgarry in particular) might have something to worry about but thats it. Discussing the likes of Craigan, Hammell and any of our few defenders isnt worth the effort, as they all seem to be well in contention to me.

Having seen the new signings in a few games now. Im impressed with Ruddy, Hately and particularly Coke. Humphrey is going to be one of those players to divide fans but his pace is enough to impress me, he will be great off the bench at least. There was one point in the game against Kilmarnock when the ball had gone forward and was headed for a goal kick, he had no right to chase it but he got there! Unbelievable. As for Jennings I feel he should be looking sharper by now, I thought he looked overwhelmed at times, hope he comes good but I feel Lasley is accomplished in the role and Ide much rather see him thrown in later in the game in the way Jennings was, I can only assume Gannon wanted him to break up the play as Killie were starting to get on top of us and we were in danger of letting them back into the game. Again I think Lasley would do better at that job. Jennings was just lucky we scored a 3rd against the run of play which pretty much did his job for him.

Is that not a bit narrow minded? Some people are better at the theory of things than the practical aspect of them, and seeing as coaches only need to teach the theory.... doi

Rubbish! THe highlights showed it was a blatant foul! I was fuming at the time. The Steaua player tracked his line and, while he never put his foot out, made sure he was there for Hammy to trip over while his eyes were on the ball to his right. It was a professional foul. Not even gonna take anyone elses opinion on that one its set in stone in my mind. Dundee make me laugh, as does the possibility that Hammy isnt in Gannons plans. Of course he is, how many spl experienced left backs are there!

If we have a one million pound war chest I dont see why we cant bring in anything from 5 to 10 players. 100/150/200k a player should bring in enough quality... thats without even looking for bosmans.

Quinn was the most forward thinking full back we have had in years. Saunders is abysmal at the moment and has a lot to live up to. Il miss Coach he was one of the few players you could see barking orders and moving into the space on the flanks, which Saunders failed completely at the other night. Quinn and Clarkson were the only two players left I actually rated so Im expecting us to be pretty poor for a few seasons now. Its happened before and it will happen again, thats the way our club is run... but i love the rollercoaster, wouldnt have it any other way.

I dont mean to compare Slane to Mcfadden as he is now. I mean Mcfadden when he started. I remember a few thinking Mcfadden was fairly useless to begin with. I was more comparing his hunger to run at defenders to Mcfaddens. Agree or disagree though. Im not saying he will be anything like faddy. I still think Sutton is dead weight, ide rather free up his wages for someone who can play both as a lone striker and with a partner. Sutton just isnt my idea of a striker, I like them to run at defenders a la Mcfadden and McDonald. Sutton can sometimes outmuscle a defender and get a lucky poachers goal, or win a header... that simply not good enough imo.b

There was a severe lack of any attacking threat tonight. We dont have a single player who can get a goal for us at the moment, it was bad enough when all we had was clarkson. As each game passes I lose more and more faith in Murphy's ability, he should be showing improvement but he simply isnt. It surprises me that he broke through before Slane. Someone behind me commented on Slane "shades of Mcfadden," without getting over excited I kind of agree. At the very least he has a good attitude so some skill, and a definate desire to perform, as he has done on each and every opportunity he has had imo. I still have faith, we are in a transition period at the moment and I expect a very tough season, but we have had plenty of them before, we will pull through as we always do. Ide prepare for a relegation battle, get the squad as packed as possible, doesnt have to be a team full of hughes', porters, klimples and clarksons.. it just has to be a team who can get some goals when our backs against the wall, throw slane in there more often. Im pretty miffed by this one! I like the idea of keeping as much of the team together as possible. Mclean is a solid player. While he might be replaceable, whats the point in making an already mammoth task of rebuilding the squad even greater! He was a free option, with experience (and experience as an mwell player). I hate to see good players go for nothing especially when it can be avoided, now we may have to spend money to replace him. Daft.
