That's the noise of my journalism masters flying over your head.... on it's way to a bin marked numpty.
-
Haha! I'm just glad I didn't a nike tick cross. Puma Panther is a hybrid super cat... I think they had one in Thundercats! New top - love it, great fit.... stitching for the anniversary logo is giving me boob rash so a t-shirt has to go underneath.
-
Which newspaper reports?
-
That thought has crossed my mind today. I still don't think he is going anywhere though. As for McCoist I think he would have to be doing truly abysmally for his fans to turn on him.... ie 2 months or more in 3rd place. and I can't help thinking McCall will be their next manager.
-
Stick a motherwell badge and a puma panther on that and we would have a very very nice away top
-
I'm taking that bait too. I'm not dissing your retro values, I have some of my own and I'm all for fans wearing retro shirts, I just don't want one. I've ended up deciding to buy this years home top, last kit I got was our bukta kit when we finished 3rd, It's gone walkabouts so it's time for a new one and in this case..... quite glad it'l have a band
-
Possibly thee most overused and irritating defence but il tip my cap to you none the less.
-
To be honest. Although there are some very misinformed voices in that thread... all the correct information about Murphy is there. Good Scottish player... Would take him for a mill... good for motherwell, might not get a game at Celtic - nothing particularly offends me there.
-
Gonnae stop highlighting that you missed my point? I said meaningless because a 70's kit isn't for me, I was born in the 80's, I never said it was a bad idea and that other, older, fans can't merry themselves wearing it. Gaag - No I'm not serious, a band round the back would look awful. What I will say in support of the band/hoop... it does make our template a little unique from other clubs with the same template. I do love it but I wouldn't be too unhappy if it was absent, for once, next season - then back again the year after... that is all. Maybe time the purists took a back seat for once and let us creative youngsters do our thing May I remind you of the popularity of our 1991 hoopless/bandless shirt

Theres an idea for a new thread. Girlfriends, Wives, Whores in their sexiest Motherwell kit poses. That's next years calendar sorted.
-
That's the one. I loved it. Was nice and simple, we wore it for two seasons so I identified with it. It was really good quality too. I have a signed one (with Faddy) hanging above my bed. Of course the band/hoop is part of our identity but in order to have an original strip each year we have to go at least one season without it. The past four or five seasons home kits have all been pretty much been the same and it just pisses you off when your slightly different shirt is out of date within a year. We aren't going to lose our identity overnight if we go one season without a band/hoop. Could we compromise with a band on the back??
-
I personally think its time we had a home kit without a band or hoop, just for a year. Last time we did it, it was one of my favourite kits we have had.
-
Well, it does mean a thing, it means I have no interest in buying it... which was my point. I have been wanting our early 90's Hummell home top for years, Thats Motherwell to me... with Arnott, Coyne or O'Donnell on the back. Never going to happen.
-
Personally meaningless. I wasn't around in 1970. Retro to me is the early 90's
-
I can't pick out a winner here, I thought the whole team were great, I don't remember a stray pass or any kind of blunder. Even Craigan (almost) made a 40yard cross field pass to open up the play. Really solid display. I have been saying it all pre-season but I think we have a fantastic starting eleven who I wouldn't trade for any player our level in the league (was discussing today, I wouldn't take anyone from Aberdeen) Won £30 quid thanks to todays team effort too. I pick ME for man of the match for betting on Motherwell to win a season opener.

No chance, if the club have any sense, which they do, they will know he will be worth so much more by the end of the season having been a valuable player during this season. It makes no sense to sell him at any money right now. A big offer will come in before the end of this window - we will turn it down. You heard it here first.
-
Not a fan of it. I like a modern top - that the team have worn. Hate the badge on it and I'm just generally not a fan of meaningless retro. Totally kicking myself I never bought the sponsor-less top last year. Silly silly move. Should say - on the new away top - it is only the collar and cash converters I don't like. The rest is mint. Home top - again, cash converters.
-
Is anybody looking to sell their medium sponsor-less home top from last year
-
Thats just it though. A big offer might come in but we can't afford to let him go at ay price, I dont think we can replace him with any fee due to his age and potential. That's EXACTLY why he will play a central role this year. The club know he is our prize asset and are going to put him in the shop window/centre stage for the coming year so that he bags a heap of goals, his value increases exponentially and we get the best out of our investment/him at the end of the year. He may be rated highly now but think how that will increase when he responds to more responsibility. By the time we sell him the hope will be that McHugh or Smith will have stepped up a level or six to do the exact same thing with over the next few years. Given we don't quite have that young replacement ready to go yet, it wont happen in this window. I'm absolutely positive that's the case.
-
I really don't think there is any doubt that Murphy will be with us this year given McCall's recent comments. I think our first team is sorted for next season and don't particularly expect another striker... or anyone else to be honest. No problems with another signing in just about any position because whoever we get now will undoubtedly be backup.
-
I heard all the players are going to be packing bags in Asda this week to raise money for the new away tops.
-
I would love to fix up Fir Park where it stands, even if that meant bulldozing it and starting again with replica Cooper and Away stands, new matching East and POD stands. I would tie our top 15 players into lucrative 5 year contracts and invest in the development of our youth system... If anything.
-
I just want another decent striker to be honest. One as back up but who can really cause selection problems. I would like to see a bit of pressure on Murph and `Higgy... would of been quite happy to see Jeffers fill a squad number really.

and on the subject of people we don't give a fuck about, Brian Kerr has finally found a club that will have him. Alloa.
