Best top in years, ruined by cash converters. I can't get over that sponsor I'm afraid, I was hoping it might appear smaller on the shirt but it dominates it for me. I prefer a band so I'm happy with that. Colours seem fine. Like the badge. Agree, that amber shorts are daft. The only other thing that possibly hasn't been mentioned... I'm quite particular about how the sleeves hang, not too sure about these ones. I like ones that hug your arm but not too tightly. Particularly with these ones being ringers that should hug your arm a bit, they might be a bit baggy, so will look daft. I need to slap myself though it's a fitba tap, no a fashion show.

Oh a Scott Brown thread. Joy

We aren't going to sign anyone else.

Aberdeen awa please

No it probably doesn't quite touch competing for 3rd. I am quite positive SM will be building a top 6 team, that is always the clubs aim. With the exception of one remarkable season out of the last 10 or so we have been a mid table team and I fully expect that to continue. Yes aiming for 3rd is a best case scenario, but it isn't all that realistic. I usually expect Hearts and United to finish above us, it's not always the case but it often is. Plenty other teams are capable of trumping us just as we are them. I think that is realistic. The aim should always be to build a better squad than the previous year.

Just out of interest does anyone fancy this: ------------------------------Randolph------------------------------ Hateley/Saunders---Hutch---Craggs-------Hammell----- ------------------------------Jennings------------------------------- ------------------Lasley--------------Hughes---------------------- ---Humph ----------------------------------------------Murphy--- ------------------------------HIgdon--------------------------------- Sign Hughes and a backup winger and striker, jobs a good un.
-
If we bring in the likes of Hughes, and retain Jennings I think it's time we send Ross out for a starring season somewhere near the top of the first division because with Hateley, Jennings, Lasley, Hughes, Carswell, Murphy and Humph vying for midfield slots Ross isnt going to get the development he now critically needs.
-
Why on earth would Killie get Gunning before us, just can't see that one. On Hughes, I would struggle to place him in our current squad. I am more than happy with a Jennings Lasley or Hateley... even an on form Forbes pairing in centre mid so would only feel comfortable with someone with similar attributes breaking that up. At this stage in shugs career he seems like a bit of a luxury, might be useful to pad the squad but that's about it. I want a quality winger (can we clone a left footed hump?) and another striker or two. Youth to step it up again.
-
I like the idea of Chris Clarke. To my memory he was a key part of a very good aberdeen team that came 3rd. When he left Aberdeen got worse and worse. He's a strong and fast winger so I reckon with him on Humphrey on either wing and Murphy finally moving up front and staying there, thanks to the departure of Sutton, we might have a really balanced side.

Will we be launching a new kit this season or is it just a case of swapping Cummsworld for Hash Converters?

What an absolute Wonga. It's hard to dislike Sutty even if he has gone to 'them' like others I think he was expecting too much to be offered anything by Motherwell until very recently and a bit daft if he thinks he is more valued at Hearts than by us. All said it will be a good move for him. Hearts is as far as he can go in Scotland, they have had a good season, he has an opportunity to work with JJ who might be good for him, they are in Europe and are probably only going to get better next year. I hate JJ's Hearts a lot less than Hearts of recent years. They have had a history of signing arseholes with talent and now seem to be signing good players with the right mentality like John so more power to them I guess. On the flip side it gives SM a chance to bring his own player in with the wage which can only be a good thing. He needs to make this team his own now and frankly, despite his obvious value... did we ever really think John suited our style of play?

There certainly was an amiable amount still singing and waving flags at the end which we can be proud of.

Yup spot on SD. Particularly the effort many have put in during the build up and the fact we have to struggle like fuck to achieve. I am raw, and as such have some minor gripes that i have expressed, but at the end of the day I am philosophical about it as you are. The past 4 years or so supporting the club have been some of my happiest, today was far from an exception

Thats just plain wrong. The singing section were terrific but it never went beyond that. You say bar the 5 or 6 moments celtic sang... I can't name one where we matched that. I'm sorry that was just my experience. I constantly had to turn my head because I couldn't look at them and knew we weren't replying on or off the pitch. They probably did pipe up after they scored, just as we went back into our shells. Whole reason I was one of the few wanting to create our own anthem during the build. I can see now why that would never have kicked off. I hate the sound of myself here. I love the motherwell support and wouldn't trade it for anything, particularly that filth. We just ain't the most vocal of fans.

Feeling completely raw now after today. I don't know how to unravel my thoughts. I think il just get some bitterness out. *Players were shit. All of them. *Card display was great... but, dare I say it, Celtics was marginally more impressive. (not to shit on the effort I know went in) *Fans in my section had their arses glued to their seats and their lips glued shut. *Rangers fans all left when the 3rd goal went in and it all looked bit patchy. As for the positives: *I made the most of my day, drank a healthy amount and rocked the kilt. *Watched the 91 final (unbelievably for the first time) *Seeing the bunting in town almost drew a tear. *Met Dougie Arnott and his brother on my way to the ground *Half time Pie was quite tasty and warm through.

Happy Scottish Cup Final Day everyone!!! Last post before the main event. Let's hope the next post is an ecstatically happy one. Hope everyone has a great day, drinks too much sings too much and all that jazz. Good luck to SM and our heroes in waiting. Seize the day we are all behind you! All I have to do now is try and sleep!

Here's one for ya, probably not my favourite because my memory was vague. I remember more about the day than the game. It was an away game at paradise, my now departed grandad was visiting from London, rarely got to see him so it was special enough at that. I remember we almost went to the Hamilton game (how differently things could have been), I remember choosing Motherwell. Arrived in Glasgow and as soon as we parked we had a wean (similar to my age at the time) demanding we let him look after the car for a couple of quid when we got back to it. As a humble Lanark boy, that was my first taste of Glasgow (rather burst my country bumpkin bubble). We were behind the goal in terracing. Me my dad and my grandad all together. Celtic were wearing that black strip with the green vertical lines. I'm not sure about the next bit but this is how I remember it. Uncle Phil had left the season before so obviously as a young boy experiencing players leave to go to a rival, I hated him (hate is a strong word). The game is a blur but as I remember it we won a penalty late on. Paul Lambert, who I met that year (still got the photo), stepped up. We won 1-0 and were relieved to drive home safely, if but a few quid lighter.
-
Agreed. The poignant time for Phil tributes was that season. His team made it to Europe for the first time in years and the story had a respectful ending. We are quite a different team now and it is time for new heroes. Subtle reminders of Phil are far more appropriate now, it's nice and enough to see the giant shirt rolled out on big occasions and to see people with Uncle Phil or 10 on the back of their shirts. I started supporting in 93 and used to ask my dad what all the 1991 stuff on people's shirts hats and scarfs was for. He would tell me and the legend filtered through. That's the way it should be.

91 replica top, thistle of scotland Kilt, claret bukta socks, harry potter style scarf bought at the semi, might rock some face paint if I spot the chance on my way to the ground.

Tickets. Kilt. 91 top. Tatty 91 cup final vhs. Cargo. Big smile. Sorted

Got to get that boy fully converted to our side. Had him at Fir Park when Phil died and he seemed appropriately humbled. Giving him a loan of a top so at least he will look the part. You got anything in Dearie's size? Not having him turn up in anything other than a full kit, scarf hat n gold plated club badge bling!

Selling two seated together Section B4 rowFF seats 99 and 100 £30 a pop, would rather sell the pair. Few mates considering taking them off me as it is so don't get too excited.

I was never contacted on two email addresses. Had a season ticket last year and twice more before that. I'm not sure if I used the same email address that I have registered to the club with. Bit disappointing but I got my tickets on the 2nd day of sale anyway.
