Any word or consensus on watering holes before and after the game?
-
No home games at a regular time - ffs sfa
-
Why who do you support just now?

Motherwell and St Johnstone have sold less than 5000 tickets between them for this weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final. The Steelmen have flogged over 3000 briefs for the Hampden clash while the Perth club have shifted just over 1400, sparking fears that less than one-10th of Hampden’s 50,000 seats will be filled - Chris Jack in the Evening Times big fat smelly lazy journalism as always

I can appreciate season ticket holders getting a priority for european games, but not cup games. It should indeed be every man for himself. No I wouldn't give you my ticket... that IS my point. You don't deserve it cause you didn't buy it.

Why? I went to several other games during the tournament does that mean I should be ahead of those who saw none?

We have caught a live one here! And a right self righteous one at that! My it's teeth are sharp

I have never been more excited about a game in my 20years of support but I wont be there. It's on the telly, and every time one of our games is on the telly I take a pragmatic approach and see it as an opportunity to save money and enjoy a superior view of the game. That's just the way it is. While the team would benefit from a vast support I fear many will be in my boat. Content with screaming from our armchairs holding a can of tennents and 'fissed as a part.' Dreaming of another glorious occasion like the scenes, pre match, at the cis final in 05. There is still time for me to change my mind though...

The way I see it is if the youngsters start to become more consistent/achieve their potential we might avert a crisis. With a view to next season and youngsters... Hutch has shown good potential, but will need to become more composed. Murphy has really disappointed me this season after such a fine start. I expected him to have a blinder and start to fill out - it hasn't happened but I still have faith. I've written off Saunders before but when I saw the difference between having him out and Page in against Killie I realised what an asset he could become, he has good positional sense but needs to cut out the panicky flapping he seems prone to on occasion. The defence next year will be young - that worries me, its one of those areas you need a bit of experience (especially centre back) so if Craigan goes, and I think it might be time, we need to bring in someone with a strong head on their shoulders (rare/expensive) - I wish Hammell was a centre back. If we lose Jennings, and Lasley starts to show his age we are in trouble - the replacements we have are squad players at best, with the exception, perhaps, of Hateley (who I find hard to assess) - our midfield, in short, has no engine/nucleus... unless Forbes and Hateley step way up. If Sutton leaves the front line there is a heap of pressure on Murphy - he needs to start fulfilling his potential in my view, because we are so limited in what we can do there. I can't imagine Esteban is going to fill anyones boots - McHugh? I find that hard to imagine too. Up front is a huge problem. So to surmise, yes it's a mess, the onus is on the youth - our defence seems to be showing the most potential for growth - but the cracks are starting to show everywhere else. If we lose players, I would highlight the best centre mid and striker we can find as necessary replacements.

I feel like we are being sussed out tactically too easily and when you look at it, it's almost unsurprising, given the way we play that it was Celtic we beat and St Mirren and Inverness who have beaten us. I haven't seen us enough this season, but from the St Mirren and Celtic games in particular, we like possession but lack creativity. Against Celtic our possession led to a win because they didnt sit back, so our lack of creativity didnt matter because we were given space to create. St Mirren and Inverness have just left us to it, soaked it up, and picked us off easily. Solution? Don't ask me!

Oh dear. Consistently inconsistent for what it's worth.

Saw this coming a mile off what with all the community club talk there has been all season. In the nicest possible way, is Motherwell the best place to experiment with a community concept? More crucially are we going to end up in the 3rd division with MEGABAR plastered to our strips. Sad to lose such a loyal chairman who has been at the club for the vast majority of my time supporting. I am going to try hard to keep my mind open on this one.

I hope to god we are building towards something now - the size of our squad. We do have some talented youth coming through so maybe hey will become legends in the cups

Who Was The Last Player We Actually Bought ?
el-pidge replied to Pettywulliegrew-2's topic in Club Chat
I think we paid 200k for Hammell and yes 50k for o'brien -
I just hope we negotiated a sell-on clause when we sold him for that pittance. It was the right move by the club though. Good luck Mark, we love your ginger hair.

Moutinho is a poor man's Gow, Gow is a poor man's O'brien, O'brien is a poor man's Mckormack, Mckormack is a poor man's McDonald, McDonald is poor man's McFadden... I could go on... though I wouldn't actually be saying anything constructive if I did

Anybody near a telly posting the draw up?
-
I'll have Partick away so I can watch it from my bedroom window thanks

Would we accept 75k for Reynolds at this stage? its a fair mark down from Rangers offer a couple of years back
-
Because he has done his loan stint and found a club at his level so he needs to be present and pushing for starts not slumming it with us sadly - lovely thought though. Can we have david Clarkson back yet?
-
I would go for a more attack minded midfield with: --------------------------Casagolda-------------------------------- Casagolda-----Casagolda----Casagolda----Casagolda---------- -----------------Casagolda----Casagolda-------------------------- --------------------------Casagolda--------------------------------- ---Casagolda---------------------------------Casagolda----------- --------------------------CASAGOLDA!!-----------------------------

Has he not just had one seriously bad injury that has been difficult to recover from? I think its been more a case of seriously bad luck with him than him being injury prone. If we punted him I doubt it would free up a significant wage and we would be lucky to find a better player with the money. He is good cheap squad player, always has been and thats why he has been with us so long, makes good business sense no doubt.
-
For me a good honest first division player is on a par with a good honest spl squad player. Keep him.

I worry about losing Craggs and Reynolds at the same time. Yes we have some exciting prospects waiting in the wings but my god we are going to ship some goals next season!

Binned mine. Thought of dog food entered my head and there was no returning from there
