  1. I hate being over critical of our own players but after seeing him play against Queen's Park in a reserve fixture over a month ago that was a performance that convinced me he just doesn't have it and we have another year and a half to enjoy. That miss against Dundee United was something else. Three points would be massive here, Dundee United are away to Celtic so you would suspect they will get pumped again, I like the idea of getting some daylight between us and the bottom and a few positive results will be most welcome before the World Cup kicks off. Hearts are in action today, apparently they are having some injury concerns at the moment so hopefully come Sunday it's a struggle for them. We played really well at Fir Park but just couldn't get the ball into the back of the net, I wouldn't be surprised to see a repeat performance of last weekend.
  2. I remember it being mentioned that Anier and Ojamaa had the same agent back in their Motherwell days, he must have made a mint between those two as since leaving us not including Legia Warsaw as he came back on loan but Henrik has played for 9 other clubs and for Henri it's just the ten clubs.
  3. End of the day at least we got to not only enjoy winning up at Tannadice but got to see that wee douche trudge off with his head down costing his team massively, its not as if we will benefit from this decision going forward and they'll get pumped at the weekend anyway. However the inconsistency of the decisions is laughable as we have seen the likes of Carroll, McHugh etc sent off for less.
  4. I'm generally stumped how people don't think thats a red. The Pie and Bovril twitter page recently posted a video and it slows down the contact of Watts connection. His studs actually rake down the side of Goss's shin and the force makes him plant his foot, it could have been a nasty one. I said it yesterday, but as soon as Watt makes the challenge you see him turn to the ref waving his arms saying he didn't mean it and when he is eventually shown the red he puts his head down and walks off without saying a word to Beaton, the sign of a guilty man.
  5. Obviously that static picture is not representative of the full tackle but the top of the studs fired into the opponents shin at that height would fall under the endangering someone category so it's a red every day of the week. Even Tony walked off without complaint. Anyway enough of that ned, delighted we got over the line. Hopefully we can write some wrongs next week when we visit Tynecastle.
  6. Delighted with the win. It's typical how we blew them away at Fir Park and somehow came away with just the solitary point but today certainly wasn't anywhere near our best and we take home the three points. For all the possession United enjoyed I think they really only tested Kelly once. Great result all things considered.
  7. Full Time Can enjoy a Saturday night for the first time in an age.
  8. Torture. Honestly feels like they have the extra man as each loose ball seems to find one of their men.
  9. Everyones favourite Josh Morris on for Spittal
  10. I think he falls under the grandparents rule but he is eligible as he mentioned in an interview that he would be interested to represent them.
  11. Great save by Kelly but you'd think that we were down to ten men with the start to the second half.
  12. I went to the first reserve game this season at Fir Park at Queen's Park and after seeing his performance in that game I came to the conclusion that he's just not very good. I would love to be proved wrong.
  13. HT 1-0. Don't think it was a soft red as some are suggesting, he caught Goss late with his studs. He knew exactly what he was doing, thankfully VAR doing its job.
  14. I'm sorry but Shields is gash. That was a great chance. Not even on target
  15. All United so far. It's a bit frustrating as all too often our crosses hit the hoop of the first man.
  16. That would have been my preference also. By all accounts O'Donnell's strong point at Killie was playing in more a RWB role and getting forward. Obviously the problem playing a 352 is perhaps the lack of options right up top.
  17. The Dundee United programme has a good article on VAR today and how it's suppose to work. I had asked the question earlier in the week about can the VAR officials not bring an incident to the refs attention and it appears they should be doing so in regards to straight red cards, penalty area incidents and goals. It was clear they never bothered as it took minutes to check a goal that was well on side. Ironically the end of that paragraph has a bit saying VAR will automatically be checking these things so players/coaches do not need to ask for an intervention. Hammell mentioned in his interview yesterday the club had contacted Crawford Allan looking for answers on what happened.
