  1. I couldn't help but laugh when Plzen scored and Michael screamed 'NOOOOOOOOOO'. Spittal was fantastic for us over the piece but come January it wouldn't surprise me to see the likes of St Mirren, Killie and ourselves trying to get him on loan.
  2. I seen it mentioned on social media that we're interested in signing Blackpool forward Kylian Kouassi on loan.
  3. It would be most welcome to get our first league win of the season, I thought Hearts looked decent enough against Rangers on the opening day but they were brutal against Dundee conceding three in the first half and they were worse facing Falkirk at the weekend so we should be going into this game with no fear.
  4. It's funny reading some of the comments from Killie fans on social media. They have one good season and they feel like they should be easily brushing the likes of ourselves and St Johnstone away. As they have done, we have had to deal with playing in Europe midweek before playing domestically days later. Their side didn't seem to be all that weaker despite the B team suggestions. I thought we played some nice stuff in the first half but both sides lacked any real quality in the final third with Watkins hitting well past the post and O'Donnell hitting it right to the keeper with his weaker foot despite the ball falling kindly for him. It was lunacy from Findlay to launch himself into that tackle at the position with no real threat when he was on a yellow but I'm not complaining. It was nice to dominate the proceedings but we were so wasteful at times. It was frustrating seeing the Killie players feigning injury, with a special mention to the keeper as McInnes sent one of his players around to tell him to drop so that he could get a quick team talk, funny how we never seen any of that again once they went a goal down. I've not seen any of the action back but I was convinced Brad Lyons was going to see red for his reckless tackle, the fact that he dropped to his knees with his head in his hands seemed to be telling. It was a nice finish by Moses, I was convinced it had gone wide. Happy to see Watt and Maswanhise make a positive first impression. I am delighted with a home tie in the next round, it is great to avoid you-know-who. Despite all the doom and gloom, we have only lost one game in seven so far lol.
  5. I seen someone had posted an extended version of the player eligibility rules on P & B which confirms he can play in the game. That's most welcome.
  6. This was a rule from a few years ago so I doubt it has changed. I was convinced you were able to register new players after the group stage even if they had played for another Scottish side. "No Club or club shall Play, or list as a named substitute, any Player or player who, in the same Season, has already played in a Match by entering the field of play whether in the starting eleven or by being used as a substitute by another Club or club in the Competition."
  7. I think there was talk for the past week of him returning, sounds like a loan deal initially with United picking up a hefty amount of the tab.
  8. I know Hastie had a purple patch for us but I thought he would have at least been able to maintain playing at a decent enough level. I don't know if it was a confidence thing or what but his direct running in that inverted winger role was a joy to watch but when he came back on loan I don't think we seen any of that. 25 year old and I think he has served 10 clubs. It was nice to see Murphy play well, flashback to when we had a wealth of creativity in our squad.
  9. Potentially having up to 8 players out and it's only the second league game of the season is actually depressing. Usually with a full compliment of players, it would probably be fair to say we enter this type of fixture in more hope than expectation. Kettlewell will no doubt revert to the one up top, but in midfield we only have Halliday, Davor, and Sparrow to select from if Miller is indeed out, so it's probably going to be an interesting team selection. I'm certain we played McGinn in a defensive midfield role at one point which didn't work. I would love us to have a go at them. I'm not doubting that they don't have the 2nd best squad in the league, but with the likelihood of Scott Wright, John Souttar, and Ross McCausland playing, you would like to think we will be able to cause them a few problems. We played really well in our two games in Glasgow last season; hopefully it's more of the same tomorrow at Hampden, bringing back another three points of course. Kevin Clancy is the ref for the game.
  10. Blaney is out for four to six weeks and Callachan will also be missing for a while due to a hamstring injury.
  11. It's not love for Blaney from my part, I'm not going to over sell the guys credentials but it's funny how people view things differently as I don't really see him doing much of what you suggested. The only real mistake I remember from Blaney was against Rangers at Fir Park last year but outwith that he's been no worse with the ball than others in different positions.
  12. I don't get the hate for Blaney, far superior to Lamie or Mugabi who were good for a brain fart or three a game.
  13. Blaney added to the injured list for this game. Callachan is also out again and Lennon Miller is a doubt.
  14. James Furlong joins Wimbledon in loan.
  15. Surely we blew our wage structure well and truly out the water unless Boyle was picking up the tab for many players. Andy Goram mentioned in his book he was on a fair wedge as was Kevin Twaddle when he rebuffed Hearts at one point to sign a new deal with us, he also mentioned in his book he squandered it at the bookies. Brannan, Goodman, Thomas & Curcic would also have been on great deals I'm sure.
  16. Someone had mentioned on here or Pie and Bovril a few weeks ago that the away kit was going to be grey with the tartan trim. When I seen Dumbarton's new home kit getting released I thought we would have got landed with a similar template as it had a thin band in the middle. I actually like both kits this year, some decent designs created by Macron for teams in Scotland and England.
  17. An update from the Well Society. http://thewellsociety.uk Not that it matters now of course but, 1,201 Well Society members had voted to reject the proposal (78.45%) while 330 Well Society members had voted to accept the proposal (21.55%)
  18. It's great to get back to the real stuff. I think we have done relatively well in the group stages since they were introduced only real slip ups I remember are against Rangers and Airdrie and Stranraer winning that bonus point in pens obviously a few tight affairs in there. I don't know much about this Edinburgh City side but they had a really poor season last year and had many issues off it as well. Confident we should have the quality to get off to a positive start. A clean sheet would be most welcome.
  19. Mika Biereth is heading back to Sturm Graz as Arsenal agree to sell him for 4 million plus add ons.
  20. The new left back confirmed. Steve Seddon
  21. Tom Aldred joins a new club in India, Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
  22. I would love to know what made Dundee and Lamie part ways so soon, you would have thought the club would have known if he was in there plans when he signed the agreement months ago. On another note I wonder if we were paying part of his wage when he was on loan to Dundee otherwise you would think he would have made the permanent move last year. I'm not surprised to see Oli Shaw rock up at a Championship club as he seemed to do well with Killie in that league. His assist to Wilkinson in the 3-3 game against Dundee was lovely but he's going to be remembered for his misses against St Mirren, St Johnstone and Hibernian.
