  1. A reckless challenge is a yellow. Never meant to harm the guy, won the ball then accidentally caught the player in the balls.
  2. Apparently the ball was headed straight out by an Aberdeen player but they were awarded the corner. Obviously we need to defend the resultant set piece much better but the officials have been quite generous to them in each and every fixture this season. I can't wait to get this season in the bin, hopefully VAR follows as well.
  3. Still feeling scunnered from the last outing a few weeks ago, hopefully VAR doesn't need to stick its neb in today. St Midden have been quite fortunate against us this season due to a mixture of poor ref decisions and us missing guilt edge chances. It would be most welcome to get the three points today. They have been quite generous to teams in the bottom half the last few months.
  4. Yeah exactly, when Aberdeen signed Gallagher on a pre contract they declined our request to shhhhh. As did St Midden with O'Hara. Hearts raiding other clubs in the league for players is interesting. It always felt like Spittal would be away anyway due to his form for us.
  5. Blair Spittal heading to Hearts.
  6. Yeah, that was the same game where Craig Gordon escaped a second yellow for bringing down Moult for a pen not to mention penalising Solholm for a last-minute handball with his arm by his side, but Sibbick got away with the same earlier. It's so frustrating, I made peace with our refs being pish but with VAR added to the mix I'm finding my love of football dwindling rapidly.
  7. It's nice to see the club call it out, Kettlewell had mentioned on Saturday that he was fed up talking to Crawford Allan about the inconsistencies and he couldn't be bothered seeking a further explanation. What an absolute copout though ruling the goal out for being a deliberate handball. I'm surprised Obika's goal versus Celtic never fell foul to that when it brushed the shoulder and went in, ironically Steven McLean was the ref that day, just as well he wasn't brought to the monitor. Sadly I think we are stuck with VAR, I've moaned about inconsistent decisions on other threads but even thinking back to when the cameras were turned off before a game was finished which missed key incidents, or the time they used a camera at the Cooper side for an offside call because the south end as the operator nipped away. I just can't see much improvement no matter how much they try to convince us. Outwith Slattery's offside goal vs Hearts earlier in the season have there been any other decisions we have been given that have had us being thankful for VAR?
  8. Willie's comments should have been, that there was no need to call me over to the monitor Steven as per the rules it's only the scorer we can penalise for handling it. But this is Scottish refs we are talking about, I mean surely after Kettlewell's complaint about the similar incident against County earlier in the season that refs take interest in these types of things. It's just mad to think that if the ball brushed a defender's bicep instead there would not have even been a mention of a penalty. I'm actually feeling quite scunnered by VAR tbh, I know it's the arseholes using it that's to blame but the inconsistencies and looking for any small thing to penalise someone is massively frustrating. I know I'm getting all precious about it but if it continues down the same path I can see myself opting to do something different on a Saturday afternoon.
  9. Collum turned 45 this year, hopefully he decides to retire soon. Each and every game always becomes his show it always baffles me that he was looked at as one of our top refs. Kettlewell has mentioned he has approached Crawford Allan on numerous occasions about some of these decisions but it seems the guy contradicts himself often. Even last year we concede against Rangers where the lines suggest the guy is offside but they give a goal as apparently the lines were touching which apparently means he was on, then you guessed it weeks later Van Veen has a goal ruled out against Dundee United in the exact same circumstances. I've found VAR a massive turn off for football. I honestly hate that feeling celebrating a goal then you hear the dreaded 'VAR checking possible......'.
  10. Frustrating day at the office. It seems like they just make up the VAR rules as they go. Earlier in the season at Fir Park a County player handles it and it sets up nicely for them to score and we were told they can only penalise if the scorer did it. I could see Shinnie handle it at the end but I'm just assuming it was struck at him at close proximity. Collum is such a pish ref you just knew he'd brandish a yellow for Roos on the 90th minute, the old chestnut despite warning him countless times by the 40th min. Great chance missed to go 8 points in front of them. For a team who have had two weeks off we seemed sluggish and devoid of any real creativity at times. They seemed to be getting some real joy with simple long punts.
  11. He was always on Twitter posting regularly and answering fan's questions etc over the years but he hasn't been seen on that platform since early January. I know many of our fan's behaviour on social media was laughable but it must be stressful listening to Aberdeen fan's unrealistic expectations. What's the goss? He always seemed to be well thought of. I must admit I thought last year he had done the dirty as I felt he was tapped up by Aberdeen but after listening to Derek Weir's interview a month or so ago I got the impression that with all the cutbacks that have been made, Alan probably felt he has taken the club as far as he could go as things he had built had regressed plus I was privy to one project, the club had in the pipeline but that has been shelved for now.
  12. This season has been mental. Beat Aberdeen on Saturday and we go eight points in front of them. At one point the games played were really unbalanced they were just above us sitting on 4 or 5 points more with 3 games in hand, I fully expected them to be out of sight. It's frustrating to think we threw away a three-goal lead at Pittodrie as we had blown them away. If Duk starts then please launch him into Wishaw post haste, seems to have the effect that VV did with them.
  13. Willie Collum the ref for this one.
  14. Shhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaagggggg Meeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. Feels like the clock is going backwards. You just know it's going to be double digits of time added on if the score remains the same.
  16. Goal from that tosser Tavernier.
  17. Alan Muir is the ref this weekend, the same guy that done this fixture at Ibrox earlier in the season. He gave them the benefit of doubt for each and every decision. I wouldn't be surprised if we give a decent account of ourselves but frustratingly end up coming up short. I would love to relive a Ray Farningham type scenario where we score the winner in the dying embers of the game. Once upon time we had a great knack for getting points off the arse cheeks at the business end of the season. Anyway they are missing a few key players due to injury.
  18. Nice from the man with the well chiseled chin.
