By the look of things, no players appear to be "in" before Thursdays game!!?? Really hoped a left sided attacking midfielder would be added to the squad to pep up a pedestrian midfield unit. Combined with Sutton playing in a deeper role, I can't see where we can penetrate the oppositions defence. Murphy has shown sparks, but not playing the lone furrow that I believe Craig Brown will play, come Thursday. Disappointed we haven't speculated to accumulate but lets see what the game brings. Hope we can navigate around this tie for some much needed finances, but, I worry that lack of player activity might just see us fall short. Hope Craig Brown has the plan for winning mission #2. Best of luck M.F.C.

No normal for a postie to keep his mooth shut Whits the script?

I agree with that Delboy. Craig Brown will get players in sooner or later. But, the right player/players secured, could pay back any expenditure if we progress through the qualifying rounds. If we can't secure players at the moment and fail to progress, it might be a lost oppertunity with knock on effects for the coming season. Fingers crossed, willy auld Broon has something up his sleeve.

Well done to Craig Brown and everyone associated at F.P. for steering our way round a tricky tie against The Icelanders (well done to them also on their first european experience.) Money at FP is obviously tight and Cardiff's plight compounds this further. But to progress further in europe, we urgently require some pace in our left midfield/attack and another forward. Will anyone be bought before our next tie? and will they be fit enough or gel to the teams formation/tactics. Do we speculate to accumulate or do we try or luck with the same players in the next round. What does everyone think? Twist or Stick!

There's parts of Humphrey's game which needs work on - crossing and ability to beat players with the ball at his feet. However, Motherwells midfield is equipped at this minute with holding players, none of whom possess any pace. If the balls lumped over the top and Humphrey catches it and swings into a dangerous area, no one from midfield (or Sutton for that matter) has the pace to get into good position in the box. Give Sutton a chance in the air and he'll bury it 8/10, but not from a quick break on the wing from Humphrey. Don't think he'll start tonight anyway. IMO Brown will play a compact formation that will try to stop The Icelanders scoring and try to score from set plays. Big Sutty to score and take us through.

Hasn't the pace for left midfield and gets exposed when he has to track back. Definately needs some help with speed work. He's obviously not comfortable in left midfield as when Humphrey was substituted he signalled to go over to the right and started swapping sides. C.B. came out the dugout and told him to stay left. Agree that if he plays its got to be more central and behind the forwards, where he is more dangerous. Present midfield is too pedestrian at the minute - definately need a left sided attacking player. Mark Fitzpatrick could balance the lhs midfield although he to is more of a defensive/holding player. Any further news on Shuker (spl)?

Mentioned this game a few weeks ago and recalled that at 1-0 up in the last minute, one of our forwards were clean through from the half way line. If he ran to the corner flag etc and the ball went out of play, time was up. He went for goal, shot and beat the keeper. The ball crashed off the post and back into play. The Jambo's went straight up the park and scored in the last minute and then went on to win in extra time. Can anyone confirm whether I've remembered this correctly?

Would you be so understanding if he was the Man Utd keeper at the business end of the season???? Its all about choices and options - he chose the wrong ones. End of.

Hope the boy's career takes a turn for the better and things work out for him. But, it ain't going to happen at Firpark. Time to move on, Michael. If the support haven't got faith in their keeper, you can bet for sure the players feelings are 10 times worse. If your hard earned wage or bonus or the clubs financial budget was screwed up by a weak link - you'd be tellin him pronto. He's not good enough at this level.

After substantial funds have been paid towards rectifying our pitch, its obvious something has drastically gone wrong. Irrespective of previous information. that stated that the pitch would take a first winter hammering, I don't believe that this current state was remotely considered. Questions will be asked of Greentech and the ground staff to determine the cause or fault. This to Motherwell F.C. is a major issue! My concern on saturday was watching ground staff raking sand in front of the P.O.D. while others were levelling areas with their feet. To an untrained turf specialist, it looked majorly unprofessional. Enough said at the minute! As far as the SPL goes, they can saber rattle as much as they like. They are aware of the work carried out and of the financial costs met by Motherwell Football Club. I don't believe its in their interest to fine us or dock points - as that would be counter productive to all concerned, especially in this economy. Hopefully questions will be answered and the pitch rectified, so we can move on and focus on the main priority of playing football.

It really is time Motherwell FC had a word with Strathclydes policing policies. What the hell are they being paid for. It would appear, they only interfere with; A. Ticket office opening and closing times. B. Cut off times when free tickets are on offer. C. Causing traffic problems after matches. D. Announcing vailed threats to home supporters. * Yet they consistantly turn a blind eye to sectarian abuse and breach of the peace prior, during and after matches. Talk about monopolizing an enforced service. Time for a rethink on real issues.

Official attendance that day was 27,000, although it was believed to be much higher. To be fair, St.Mirren did have a slightly bigger support that day IMO as they totally filled the old away end/ half the east/part of the main. If we go on official no.s, they had at least 14,000+ that day. If they brought 1/3 of that number on saturday, we'll get a good atmosphere and hopefully a belter of a game.

A Shellic workmate was surprised that Sheradin was loaned out to us. He did say he was a bit raw, but also said he was capable of scoring plenty goals and had fantastic energy and work rate. Sounds a good bit of business if this is the case. Anyway a couple of new faces in through the door, keeps everyone on their toes for a starting place. Lets hope it continues our push up the league and gives us another crack at europe.
