  1. Disciplined first half and appeared comfortable to close out this match unless Aberdeen produced some magic. Cue, to MIssion Impossible and this will self destruct in 60 seconds. Don't need to say any more!
  2. I've been hugely critical of most things MFC this season and stopped attending matches.Today, a line is drawn in the sand and we have 12 games to save the long term future of our club. No matter how much I can pick fault on fitness, tactics etc, I don't want my team to get relegated again, so I'll be there today to support my team. Time for positivity from players and fans alike. Here's hoping for a result today COYW
  3. No doubts about this one. Leathal pairing, Graham the brains and Pettigrew, pace and lethal finishing.
  4. Everyone laughed on here when Hughes took over at ICT and expected total free fall. Just shows what can be achieved, with a motivator (Hughes) and a crackin tactician in Latapy. Totally sound tactics and playing good football!
  5. Aye, the pure math formulae for self combustion at fitba matches!
  6. The players who are capable of turning this around, switched off ages ago. Money talks and lack of bonuses, which was routinely heading to their accounts the past few seasons has abruptly switched off. Imagine a tight group, bonded together with relative success most weeks, starting to disband. New players take their places with inferior ability. Throw in the same mistakes, the same failings week after week and the top players in the dressing room start to get disillusioned. Now, throw in a new manager who by all accounts isnt rated by the players, who brings in new guys from the lower leagues who have achieved the root of feck all and walk straight into the team. Sound familiar!
  7. I called this scenario from day1 and said it would backfire in tears. If it ain't fit for purpose, you run the risks. However, when the chance arose to shape a new future with the arrival of Mr Hutchinson, we've spectacularily screwed up. All through the campaign, when we needed leadership, not a single word was uttered to address the problems. Subsequent talk of tears and snotters when McCall left and waxing lyrically of great things ahead under the stewardship of Iain Baraclough sound extremely hollow a few weeks on. We've only a small window left to rectify this situation - the question is, does the new board have the balls to address the issues? Time will tell?
  8. Some gullible c--ts with painted on ears. He's finished. Sounded down and has ran out of bullshittin' lingo to fool the masses. The players ain't buying into the sham and the penny finally dropped with the support. time to call; auld-heid@last-chance-saloon.com
  9. His appointment was to improve things on the playing front. Now bottom of the league. Wrong man for this task!
  10. F.F.S. Motherwell, get an auld heid in to sort this mess out, before it's too late. Last chance saloon.com
  11. We're going down faster than Linda Lovelace. X rated performances all season.
  12. Back to the match. On reflection of my earlier dismissive comments on Iain Baraclough and his tactics, I believe tomorrow may start an upturn in fortunes. A score draw 1-1, but hopeful of a sneaky 2-1. Good feeling about this one!
  13. I'm genuinely asking the question, because I started to think there was too much talk and no action! So, do people see an improvement! I'm happy to have any sensible discussion with posters especially when it's my team, Frazzle.
  14. You're skating on thin ice big yin!If you don't put up a better argument I'll no give e dam!
  15. Care to elaborate ya big pussy! IMO - I think he's a bullshitter! However, I'm asking opinions of others who possibly have more knowledge of I.B. and how things are developing.I'd gladly be miles of the mark, just my first impressions though!
  16. Apart from a few games attended this season, I gave up and turned my back on watching uninspiring football.Stuart McCall's tactics and constant shoehorning players into unbalanced formations finished me off. However, can I ask others how things are developing under Iain Baraclough ?I listened to some of his interviews and he definitely comes across as a very articulate man with a clear vision. However, what I've subsequently watched hasn't equated! My initial thoughts have alarm bells ringing! Can anyone with more insight, enlighten me on progression to ensure our division survival and how the players are responding to his methods and philosophies? P.S. Mr Baraclough - WALK THE WALK
  17. You don't think Dom Thomas should have started this match then!
  18. Well done on getting back into this game. But, the starting team selection and tactics were guff!4 right backs all over the pitch and a suicidal diamond formation in midfield, with Cardswell as the forward player in the diamond! That was horrendous! The young lad getting sent off probably saved us a point as the game was bypassing us badly and I think we would have persevered with this tactic, losing more goals.Let's make things a bit more difficult for teams and make the midfield more robust. However, well done for the fighting spirit of the team. Kerr played really well in central defence after coming on - this is his best position and Thomas and Moore changed our attacking options when they were introduced. It was noticeable how more influential Erwin became with these lads around him! The young lads need to start against ross county. Ditch the formation tinkering and set up difficult to beat with some guile from Thomas and the young guns........and finally stop playing defenders in midfield, guess what, it doesn't work.
  19. Pearson is a quality signing imo. However, if the other signings aren't up to standard, just watch the reaction of some of the players who look disinterested at present. mcmanus being a prime example! There is a fine line in any dressing room and the lack of quality, fuelled by losses in bonus money will be having an effect on team moral and in some cases, individual commitment. I.B. to me, looks like the wrong appointment, but that may be a little unfair due to his time in the job. I really do hope the players aren't also in agreement! However, if no impact is made in this window we really are in a precarious position.Time for Ian Baraclough's pressing, possession football to materialise. Here's hoping for better fortunes against St.Johnstone!
  20. I'm totally unconvinced by Ian Baraclough at this minute in time. Too much talk with no evidence of improvement. We all laughed when Big Hughes took over at I.c.t. Results took a nose dive and tried and tested formations started to unravel. However, results and tactics only started to pick up and appear to have improved with the introduction of a new first team coach, Russell Latapy. By all accounts training, diets, everything associated with being a professional athlete is monitored. I don't have any knowledge of what's happening at this time, but we've all seen at first hand, disinterested players transform with a good manager, Mark McGhee. I'm not seeing it happen at FirPark under Ian Baraclough and most worrying,it appears that the players ain't buying into it either. If kenny black is part of the problem, get someone in pronto. If this isn't the case, rather than being the solution, Ian Baraclough may be out his depth and making things worse. We really can't afford the drop. Major baw booting needs to happen from the top.
  21. They brought the wrong man in! We had the chance to overhaul the club and we've blown that opportunity! We've made our decision so we just need to get on with it now!
  22. Alarm bells were ringing from day 1 with him saying all the things everyone wanted to hear! However, with things getting progressively worse, I think he's well out his depth. Too much talk for my liking!
  23. So at work, your bosses plan a strategy on a project or business model which you raise major concerns. The clusterf@ck that then ensues has consequences and questions are asked. Is this not similar to what's happening on this forum? I'll say for the last time, this is not Alan Burrows fault, but he is now part of the team that is required to sort out this mess! I guess it's all a mute point now as Les Hutchinson deemed it fit to add his own to run operations. the line is now drawn in the stand. The only thing I'm interested in, is progression from this point!
  24. Disagree Dave.Only a few on here raised concerns about where things were heading and the need for steading the ship. The reaction to valid comments were met with negative and abusive remarks. We're now in a critical position and now somehow the anger turns on folk who saw the train out of control. You couldn't make this up.
  25. I've moaned about decline since pre season and raised concerns about internal promotions. However, none of this lies anywhere near Alan burrows. This club has been walking a tightrope for a couple of seasons now and to be honest, league placings have hood winked most!Stuart McCall chose a strategy of a small squad on higher wages, but paid no attention to youth development. Now, with no cash and young players with no exposure to first team game time, you can see where the problem lies! I really do hope Les Hutchinson drives the club in the right direction, but will he direct with cash injections to bolster improvement. I'm of the opinion that this wasn't his intention, but lets see how this develops! On a final note, Ian Baraclough. Was he the right man for the job? He needs time and he also needs money. Unfortunately he doesn't have either at this point. Certain players at our club are above us in their their eyes and ain't pulling their weight. Get players that will scrap there way out this mess and get them told in no doubt. I.B. needs to be strong in the coming weeks or we'll find ourselves relegated with further problems ahead. COYW.
