Pretty sure the sign behind Jessica Alba reads "FIR PARK CORNER"

Thats what the papers dont get. Its a bizarre situation and whilst we respect what McGhee had done for us especially in the first season, he has undone it a thousand times over in many motherwell fans eyes.

I went for 'about the same'. It still is a bit early to say, but on early impressions i'd say Ruddy could be well a match for Buzz, but as previously mentioned he also has made a few errors in the games he's played. Having a back up with the experience of Michael Fraser could help us, should Ruddy's form dip. For all thats been said about Fraser i think he'll prove a trusty back up, as he was up in Inverness for most of the season. Defensively we seem to be slightly better off, with Saunders and Hutchi coming on from last season. The new guy who could be hit or miss and most importantly for me keeping Reynolds and Hammell. Throw in the fact we've got a utility guy like Tom Hateley who's looked comfortable in the right back position and i think we'll be fine in this department. Midfield. Hughes had the ability, when he could be arsed, to change a game and take control of it. I see alot of this in Giles Coke. So far the boy has looked composed, his passings been spot on and he's not frightened to push forward. It has to be remembered that while Mr Malcolm was totally immobile, he did chip in with some goals last year, and looked dangerous from set pieces. I think the boy Forbes has shown he can provide a threat from free kicks and long range shooting, i just worry that we dont overuse the boy on the back of a few good performances. He was dead on his feet after an hour up at aberdeen and should of been taken off. He's a huge prospect and we really need to nuture that. I think a little help from an experienced head like Lasley and the boy Coke could see Forbesy develope into a cracking player this year. Paul Slane looks the part, Jim OBrien's started this season the way he finished last and the boy Humphrey's looks a threat running at players, although in my opinion hasnt shown enough to be a regular starter. Fitzy for all his faults put in alot of unsung hero performances last season, where he was by no means the star of the show, but he carried out his work effectively. I've still to see similar traits in Jennings. On the occasions i've seen him play he looks a yard or two behind the pace of the game, he seems quite slow in my view and his composure on the ball is no where near that of Coke. After a strange pre season and only 3 league games, its guys like Jennings and Humphrey's that need support rather than written off at this early stage. Jennings pedigree down at Tranmere suggests he's a player. In my view we will miss the experience of Lasley and Fitzpatrick later on in the season when we're trying to grind out results. These are players that have been there and done it, and i think Gannon would be foolish to completely dismiss them from the first team squad. From what i've heard from Gannon, he's giving everyone a chance to impress, so fair enough. Up front, the polish guy i thought looked ok on Saturday. But for me i could really see us struggling this year. I think we will rely alot on the midfield players scoring, which is no bad thing. Hearts have shown that you can still climb the table without an out and out goalscorer. We'll obviously be looking at Sutton to grab his fair share, but this season we're really looking for Murphy to step up to the plate. If you'd told me in April that our front two for this season would be Sutton and Murphy i'd be very nervous indeed. Take away the SPL experience of Cillian Sheridan, and dont forget this is a boy that played in the Champions League against United, and we're really short in this department. We've not adequately replaced McCormack in my view never mind Clarkson, and the boy from Everton seems very much like John Sutton. The failure of our first team strike force could see an opportunity arrive for Robert McHugh. The wee guys impressed me coming off the bench. showing alot more fight and determination at times than Jamie. So yeah, overall i feel we're just about the same in a league thats got generally poorer in quality. So not a bad thing at all.

As shite as aberdeen are, we're not entitled to win everymatch, never mind up at pittodrie. If you said in April that we were gonna replace clarkson with a polish reserve player that nobody had heard of and Hughes n Klimpl were to be replaced by a guy called Giles Coke and Mark Hateley's son, people would of just laughed. Its a testament to Jim Gannon that already he has the team playing his style of football, and can also spot a player within our price range i.e. nothing. He also knows that we're nowhere near the finished article and has previously said that this season will be used to develope the players we have. Anyone who expects us to beat St Johnstone and Aberdeen away from home because their shite and we're no isn't really considering that at present we have a young team who will inevitably be inconsistent. These people should also prepare there best shocked look when i say this...we might actually lose a fair amount of games anaw!! To let a team back into the game for the final 15 minutes when we're three nil up is the last thing on my mind. Its no Real Madrid here...win your home games, take whatever you can get away and i imagine we'll consolidate 7th place/push for a top six. Realistically that has to be our benchmark for the season considering our losses in personal and the relative unknown qualities of our new additions. Mon Jim Gannon!! (and John Boyle)

QOS, Inverness or Ross County Away!

Lets start uncluttering the ins and outs, and leave it for, ins and outs. As said, its hard to compare both due to senior games played in that position. Must rememeber though that Reynolds burst onto the scene with scotland as a left back. Anytime i've seen him in that position he always looks more than capable and after his average season last year maybe a wee change is what the boy needs.

Good Effort!!!!

Few beers and watching the well on a (hopefully) sunny sunday afternoon. Sounds like the answer!

Mcghee was called alot of things yesterday, but i dont know how Scott Davie and friends heard any f****n bastard chants when there wasnt any
-
I wouldnt be employing anyone caught shagging a chicken...or a sheep..put it that way
-
Mark McGhee likes shagging sheep, for me, is just as libelous as Mark McGhee is a paedophile, or Jimmy Hill is a poof, or Richard Gough is a child molester or even back to the Bobby Moore bastard song.. If we banned everyone who had sang the above our attendences throughout the leagues and national team would resemble that of a Leon Jackson concert.
-
Theres nae way McGhee's a Paedophile anyway. He showed in his two years with us that he's got no interest in youth.
-
Think there may be some basis in that one...
-
I think if i was standing in the ramshackle aberdeen dug out with my grubby tight fitting red polo shirt on, i wouldnt be over the moon with chants of how im a paedophile. I'd also be feeling pretty shitty about the allegation that i pump sheep.
-
I think Keith Lasley may be cancelling the date with that 14 year old bird he met off bebo..
-
Hateley continues to impress me. I honestly assumed he was brought in just to add a bit of depth to the squad, maybe a few games this season. But he's came in and held his own well in the first team.
-
Just to add to the psychotic nature of this thread.. is shagging an animal deemed a less offensive chant than shagging children?

MARK REYNOLDS: I DIDN'T hear the chants, but some of the boys were saying it was out of order. As a manager you have to expect that if you are going to leave a team for new pastures. Mark was a good manager to work under and we had some great times and I don't think anyone in the dressing room has any animosity towards him, but we have moved on. The fans have every right not to be happy. They are there for their team, their players and their manager. I can't speak for them, but they are Motherwell 100 per cent and it will take a while for them to forget that it was Mark McGhee who left them in the cold to come to, as he put it, a bigger team A poor copy n paste job first time around

If it comes out at a later date that Mark McGhee is infact a Paedophile, then alot of folk are gonna owe these lyricists an apology On a serious note, Mark McGhee is an absolute prick of a human being. As a manager for us during the 2007/2008 season he brought us some good memories. However, for me, and me alone, he has destroyed all of his good through his actions of the last 18months or so.. Fat prick, Fat celtic reject, egotistical fanny...yes Paedophile and child molester....No

Coke for me, although Craigan was excellent
