  1. Well boy's in Swansea tonight. Wind st is lookin the place to be. Wee cheeky beach party going at play tonight and cheap student prices going on. Stand your ground Motherwell. Come on
  2. Would play last weeks team. A chance to redeem themselves. Build up confidence and march on...problem with that method is it could backfire spectacularly.
  3. Take the money and Usain bolt!!
  4. They'll be a 'frisson' in ma pants if we nail this Welsh mob 2 - 0 Come on Motherwell!! Keep the Albanian dream alive!
  5. Noticed on thursday afternoon that the strip was missing from the shop window...so was hoping that it had been binned. But sadly no, instead we've managed to find a garish pair of socks to go with it
  6. That was crap...absolute crap. Disgraceful performance. Whether it is week one or the last game of the season, we shouldve supplied a bigger test to Llanelli, especially with a number 4 the size of their entire midfield. Disappointed with most of the Well boys who wore the strip tonite.
  7. Liked McLean, end of the day though he wont be missed as he never play anywhere near enough games in his time at the club.
  8. Boyle Speaks 3:54 It gives the season a certain......??? whit???
  9. Like it, nae fancy suit needed, training gear on, couple of quick pics and quotes then get back to masterminding our charge this season. Talks a good game, lets see it put into practice. Welcome Jim!
  10. Cheers for the memories clarky. Top bloke!
  11. Been washed, Jaxx still intact but alot of catches on the top
  12. Flying down Edinburgh/Cardiff wednesday morning, staying at the Dragon Hotel for two nights in Swansea then back up on the Friday.
  13. Well done Motherwell and Llanelli. Good stuff. Mon the Well!!
  14. This really is turning into a recipe for disaster, to lose your top goalscorer, your keeper, your so called creative midfielder, your right back..your right backs replacement and your manager. Clarky's the big loss for me, the rest can be replaced within reason. But Clarky is Motherwell thru and thru, gives 100 percent effort every game and bangs in the goals. Players like him dont come around too often at the price we'd be paying. I really hope if we're losing Quinn that Boyle has banged a contract infront of McLean. The team from two seasons ago has all but disappeared and we're far worse off.
  15. A small town of 46,000...invaded by potentially 2,000 ticketless well fans.. Common sense must prevail. Alot of people myself included have booked hotels and flights. We will be going regardless of the ticket situation.
  16. ....be careful of the toes you step on when your on the way up, as they may be attached to the feet you have to kiss on the way back down
  17. Looking throught their website: "On June, 19th within the limits of gathering in Turkey "İnter" has held the second control meeting with a Turkish command "Tekirova Belediyyesi". The match has ended with the account 5:2 in advantage "İnter." Balls were hammered by Walter Guglielmone," Wee bit worried for the boys around this Walter Guglielmone fellow..
  18. Yeah, your actually spot on... And going by that Mo Malpas must of done a good job keeping us in the SPL cos we finished in ten place. Into the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup AND League Cup What a season...What a manager!!! The record books must show you done ok Maurice, on yerself!
  19. "It's a very queer way you have of looking at things, John Hughes "almost" got Falkirk relegated. Why not tell us what John Hughes actually DID, rather than what he didn't do. John Hughes kept an almost penniless Falkirk side in the SPL" As has been mentioned earlier, Falkirk are far from penniless. There is nothing queer about it, i stand by the statement 'John Hughes almost got Falkirk relegated'. Every single Falkirk fan would of sacrificied the cup final to stay in the SPL.
  20. During Luc's reign at Telstar he had a 33% winning percentage record...in the same timeframe we had a 36%. Its impossible to compare teams and leagues and stats. Theres more to it than that. Owen Coyle never got St Johnstone promoted in a fairly poor league. Yet managed to get a small side in Burnley to the Premiership. John Hughes almost got Falkirk relegated, yet is sitting in the managers chair at hibs now. Paul Le Guen created Lyon into a european force...and ended up moulding Rangers into a european laughing stalk. Theres no black and white. I believe Nijholt done 'ok' for a club the size of Telstar. I believe McAllister didnt do enough with a club like Leeds. I think most Fulham fans agree that Sanchez was just plain awful at Fulham. But put them into the Motherwell job and it could go either way for all three. I like Luc, he's a Motherwell man, i'd like to try something a wee bit different and thats why he gets my vote. As i said earlier, if McAllister or Calderwood, god even Chisholm then they'll get my backing. Its a very hard group to choose the ideal manager from.
  21. As assistant coach at Salzburg Luc Nijholt has worked on a day to day basis with quality international or former international players like Niko Kovac, Johan Vonlanthen, Alexander Zickler amd Rene Aufhauser within the last year. During his time as coach with Co Adriaanse at AZ he helped mould players like Tim de Cler, Jan Kromkamp, Denny Landzaat and Joris Mathijsen. In 2007 he was being tipped to be part of the Dutch international set up. For Telstar over the course of 3 seasons he had roughly a winning percentage of 33%. A team 25 kilometers outside Amsterdam with a ground capacity of just over 2,000. Last year we had a win percentage of about 34%. Co Adriaanse hand picked Nijholt to be his assistant at Salzburg. This is a guy who was voted manager of the year in Portugal winning both the domestic league and cup with Porto, winning the Austrian league with Salzburg whilst also managing teams such as Ajax and AZ Alkmaar. A decent judge of footballing character i'd say...he's certainly no 'The Lip', i'll grant you, but he's no bad. If Nijholt could bring in someone such as Chris Kronshorst to assist him, who was also in the Salzburg management team and is credited with creating FC Volendam's renowned youth academy, then i really feel this could help bring on our younger players. Something lacking during McGhees time at fir park. Alot of positives for me, whilst obviously not being the complete package. We're not gonna get the complete package. I think McAllister would be a safe boring continuation of where we are just now, but ultimately i'd give him 100% if he's appointed tomorrow. But theres something about a Luc Nijholt appointment that excites me. Something different. It could backfire as with any appointment, but for me John Boyle has to get on that Zoom...eh...KLM airline and go speak to Luc Nijholt!!!
  22. Heard from two folk this morning that Neil Lennon is on the list so far with Gary Mac and Chris McCart. Could be the usual run of the mill rumour you get at these times, or possibly could be something in it. Anyone heard anything similar? Wouldnt want any of them. Wouldnt mind Calderwood, Nijholt...maybe even Craig Broon, but Gary Mac and McCart fill me with no confidence whatsoever, and LENNON? F*ck sake!!!!
  23. Its sad, if the man had any humility and never had this arrogant streak then most of us would applaud him for the incredible job he's done at Motherwell and wish him all the best. Instead he's managed to unite the majority of fans for the first time, unfortunately Mark we're united with our disgust in the way you've treated our club, especially this last week. 'Mr Motherwell' cannot be exempt from this too. If Leitch believes in his heart the way Mark McGhee has treated his beloved Motherwell is acceptable, then maybe its best that Scott is heading up north to the wilderness too. I think its a good move for McGhee and even prior to the Sunday Herald article i'd of still wished him all the best. But the nonsense since, added to the numerous flirtations with other clubs managerial posts is enough for me to count ourselves lucky that we've finally got rid of this modern day footballing prostitute. Sad day for MFC, but we'll move onward, and i sincerely hope upwards aswell.
