  1. Welsh for me, absolutely strolled it tonight.
  2. Just went to buy tickets for this and apparently it’s physical tickets only and they can’t be posted now, so somehow need to get to Fir Park during the day before Wed night. Why does Scottish football make going to games so damn difficult at be times, grrrr.
  3. Great performances from McGinn, Watt and Fadinger but it has to be Welsh for me.
  4. Hope I’m proved wrong but that line up gives me the fear, no natural left back, an aging McGinn at right back, only one of Watt, Fadinger & Slattery, and no real centre forward. We have a decent pool of players now and I know we have a lot of games coming up but swapping out half the team when we’re playing one of the stronger teams in the league seems mad.
  5. Has to be Maswanhise for the 2 first half goals. Mention for Fadinger who was good as usual and Ward who had a good save at 0-0 and dealt well with crosses. Shocked to see Said getting some votes here, thought he terrible and gave the ball away constantly.
  6. Welsh and Slattery in for Gordon and Said. Think I’d have brought Sparrow & Hendry in as well, but maybe doesn’t want to change too much in one go!
  7. Desperately trying to lick wounds today, but is anyone else still a bit in disbelief around how that played out yesterday?! Can’t help but keep thinking, can we play that again today and the real Motherwell turn up….grim
  8. Great post! Bigger picture is top 6 so far, a semi final appearance and a great style of football to watch every week (after less than 20 games in charge). We lacked a physical presence in both boxes yesterday and didn’t get the rub of the green. Whilst 4-1 looks awful the scoreline flatters them massively if you watched the game. As others have said we are 2/3 players away from being a really good team with an attractive style of play. Question is can we find those 2/3 players on our budget, time will tell but it’s much better to watch than Kettlewell or Hammell’s poor teams over recent years.
  9. It’s going to be a big call whichever one is left out. On form you’d probably go with McGinn & Welsh, but against Saints I think we’ll need the height and physique of Gordon!
  10. As others have said, it’s going to be very close and just who turns up best on the day. In terms of team selection I think there there’s really only one debate if SOD’s out, and that’s which 2 from McGinn, Gordon and Welsh play at centre half. I expect to see: Ward, Koutroumbis, McGinn, Gordon & Longelo. Watt, Fadinger, Slattery, Just, Maswanhise & Stamatelopoulos. But wouldn’t be upset if Welsh was in for McGinn or Gordon. Think we might need Gordon’s height and strength in the air against a team that puts the ball in the box regularly.
  11. Close one tonight! Thought Ward, McGinn & Fadinger all played very well, Longelo the driving force behind both goals, but Watt & Slattery were outstanding! Went for Slattery (just).
  12. Team selection will be very interesting tonight! In terms of resting players to make sure they're ready for Saturday I'd be inclined to only rest 1 or 2, would deffo rest Longelo, as I think he's critical to the way we play and the alternatives at LB are terrible. I'd also be tempted to rest Watt as I think he's the only one in that midfield that we couldn't really replace if he were to get a knock tonight. Would we all take a loss tonight if it meant winning on Saturday? I suspect most would, but lets hope we can win both!
  13. Outstanding 1st half as most have said. Just watched the Said goal on TV, how they have decided that’s a foul is ridiculous, VAR has to stay out of the game unless it’s a clear and obvious error, the ref is standing about 5 yards from the challenge in real time and doesn’t give a foul. If that goal stands I have no doubt we go on and win the game. I still have huge faith in JBA and our style of play, but Individual errors really cost us in the 2nd half. Welsh for the 1st goal, Said & Fadinger for the 2nd and then Stama missing 2 really good chances. Deffo think we need to stick with the team and hope we can put 90 mins together like the first 45 mins.
  14. Very surprised Gordon and Stama are on the bench, suspect Stama must have a knock. Good to see Just back!
  15. Let’s hope they keep their hands off JBA…..
