Is there a single person on this forum that would have put Whyte on before Cole and Cornelius before McGuire?! Raging at Robinson after that. Although to be fair we should have been out of sight with the chances we had.
-
I think McGuire needs to play as a holding midfielder to be honest. Not against giving Hastie a run of games but not sure he fits in this 5-3-2/3-5-2 formation.
-
Can see why he hasn't changed the back 5 but I’d have liked to have seen McGuire & Cole in for Crawford & Lang. Hope Carson’s not been rushed back....
-
Decent point given our form and one we just about deserved. Back 3 looked solid and Carroll will come in at LB/LWB soon (although Grimshaw was ok tonight). Front 2 worked hard but didn’t really look like scoring, think we should go with Watt and Cole at Tannadice. Midfield is a real issue and a big part of our lack of goals. Campbell was poor tonight by his standards but has to play given the other options. Which 2 play with him is very much up for debate. I’d go McGuire and Polworth. Hopefully Donnelly will be back soon.
-
Defended well in the most part. 2 up front working hard without looking like scoring. Midfield has been awful.
-
Not sure if this is any indication of what’s likely to happen in Scotland, however I see Napoli have managed to win their appeal against a 3-0 defeat awarded to Juventus against them for a breach of Covid rules.. The way we’re playing that would be squeaky bum time for us if they’re overturn and we need to play them!
-
100% agree with this. I’d go back to 4-3-3 with Archer, O’Donnell, Ohara, Gallagher and Grimshaw at the back, Campbell, McGuire and Polworth in midfield and Hastie, Watt and Lang up front. Although I suspect we’ll see almost the same team that started at Ibrox, 5-3-2, just with Polworth in for Crawford.

Find some of the comments on here about Tait a little surprising. I thought when Hastie came on last week he went past him at will, in fact did Tait not get yellow carded for pulling him down and then get hooked? When I’ve seen him play for Saints this seasons he’s been exactly what you would expect, fairly solid but limited and struggles badly against pace. I’m happy to have O’Donnell over him. Must keep Gallagher in Jan, otherwise I suspect we could be looking at a relegation dogfight in March/April. Would love us to sign someone decent to play alongside him.
-
Hastie, with the exception of Archer, the only one getting pass marks.

Just listened to Robinsons interview, can’t believe our goal was disallowed for a foul. Said at the time that better be for offside as it’s never a foul. Frustrating, as that would have massively changed the game. Not saying we would have won but to go in front just before half time would have been huge in terms of confidence.
-
So weak, as soon as we go 1 down you know the games over. No urgency, no will to win, no fight, no bookings... Thank god for Gallagher otherwise we be facing relegation.
-
Goal was coming. Hibs change of shape at HT gave them the advantage. Can’t believe Long lasted over 60 mins, empty jersey.
-
Yeh, I agree with this. Ohara was playing well at CH alongside Gallagher and McGinley (whilst not great) is more reliable at LB than Grimshaw or Lamie. Also think we need Maguire’s stature and presence in midfield without Ohara or Donnelly.
-
He’s far from perfect and his inclusion of Lamie today was crazy but to my point earlier, we had 4 or 5 missing today that would definitely improve that team.
-
Of course but why bring it up now when fans have no impact on results?
-
Just listen to Robinsons interview, what the hell is he on about 3 or 4 men in the team that used to be vilified! Which players is he talking about and who were they vilified by?! Can only see this as a dig at the fans when we’re not even in the stadium!...
-
Poor poor performance, not to mention the total of urgency or desire. Can only assume McGinley had a knock, although to be fair he’s no world beater himself. In the managers defence we are missing almost half a first choice team in Carson, Carroll, Dunne, Donnelly and Campbell.
-
Crawford was neat but Gallagher holds us together at the back. Would hate to see what our defence would be like without him.
-
Both McNamara and McCann’s challenges could easily have been reds. Remember Lang’s red at Ross C in the 1st game of the season? Not much difference in those 2 today.
-
What a horrible team they are, 3 awful challenges today, not to mention Davidson’s kamikaze act.
-
Lamie on for the last 15min, what could possibly go wrong?!
-
Been a little surprised at how just how poor we’ve been so far, struggling to string 2 or 3 passes together. Good move for the goal and then a couple of chances in the last few mins but apart from that St Johnstone have dominated. Suppose we need to cut them a break given how many we have out. Carson, Carroll, Dunne, Donnelly and Campbell would all improve this team...
-
Needless to say, the move for the goal apart we have been absolutely woefully.
-
If we had VAR that would be a red....Typical St Johnstone, dirty b@stards.
-
Presuming it’s Grimshaw that’s out, I hope we go back to the 4-3-3 today with Carson, O‘Donnell, Gallagher, Lamie, Mcginlay, Campbell, O’Hara, Polworth, Cole, Watt, Long. Fancy us to get a narrow win.
