It's certainly strange but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. Should be a good atmosphere with both sets of fans in the middle of the North stand. I think the reason they may have done this is because the dearest seats are in the best view of the pitch? i.e £22 tickets are on the halfway line.

Tickets info annouced. Singing Section for anyone who is interested is in C4 and C5 for anyone interested. This is great as its the first thing the players will see when they walk out the tunnel, for this reason this is where we will have the display! Well done to the club for this. Hopefully we get a good turn out for this!

Think one of the main differences is that most clubs will just use white, they send the rolls away to get dyed Claret and Amber. If anyone has any cheaper suppliers that would be looked at? but at the moment, we are going with the tried and trusted!

Alright guys, As I mentioned in the other thread regarding the display at Home to Dundee United, we are planning to have another one at Hampden for the Semi-Final against the Saints. As some of you know this takes a bit of time and money so I am just wondering if anyone on here would be up for helping out? I contacted 'Flow and asked him where he got the Claret and Amber till rolls (streamers) that the Well Trust guys used at Hearts a few years ago. He gave me the supplier and they have got back to me with a price. For 3,000 streamers (1.5k Claret & 1.5k Amber) it is working out at a total of £1,072.80 including VAT. The break down is £5.96 per box of 20 + VAT. This may seem a lot but if we can get any sort of donation in then it could be done. The idea is to get the streamers dished out in the family section prior to the game (hopefully we can get early access to the stadium) and lay them out on the seats. The middle section behind the goal will then have a display which has either a flag or a banner (plans still to be confirmed) with potentially a large Claret and Amber ribbon and the words "She Wore, She Wore" above it. What I would need though is someone who may be up for taking charge of this, in terms of gathering money through PayPal. I may be able to do this if someone explains to me how it works exactly? And I will also take donations at the games. The women at premvan.com who are supplying the till rolls said we would have to get this confirmed by Tuesday 5th April at the latest so the till rolls can be dyed claret and amber and sent out in time for the game. For those unsure of what it may look like, here are some examples of similar displays: Cheers, Dee

As I stated previously in this discussion, I can see the argument from both side for the smokebomb issue however it is against the rules and the club could be potentially punished for this, so that should speak for itself. What I would also like to say is that I appreciate your efforts to contact the advisory commitee and enquire about having an effective "middle man", as many supporters, maybe myself included, would ignore these means and continue to moan about things on this board, actions speak louder than words as they say. With this in mind though, I would like to think that when approaching these bodies, fellow fans are supporting the idea of creating an atmosphere and getting fans through the doors. With regards to the "S" in Heroes, I think it’s a minor issue. Like yourself, I had family who fought for country against people wearing it on their lapels but by no way is it related to Nazism. Sadly I wasnt present at the making of the banner or I would have tried to change it. I was involved in making the shirts, which I personally feel were a great touch and like stated the S is a minor issues. The lad who done it suggested that he done it in reference to moving away from the dark days of the casuals but this was after some expressed their feeling of discontent On the plus side, the display as a whole has gained a good response, from fans and media alike. Let's hope that fellow fans help out for the Semi-Final display and we can build on things from there.

In reply to Welshman, I was never involved with the Well Boys displays but I am friends with a lot of the lads who were. I think that the term Ultra put a lot of people of and also "Boys" maybe put a lot of older guys of? At the moment there is a good group of us who like to do the displays and try and create a good bit of atmosphere both home and away and it seems to be working. For this reason, we all agree that there is no need to have a "group name" so to speak. We want all 'Well fans to get involved, like you said, and if having a "group name" single us out as different then its just not worth it. For your point about people wanting to help out, that is exactly what we need. A few older heads would be great as it may get us a bit more respect from fellow fans instead of being classed as "silly wee boys." Just to let you all know, I have contacted 'Flow and Diane Harvey today with regards to a singing section and they have both said they will bring it up at the ops meeting today. 'Flow also gave me the contact details for the supplier where the guys from Well Trust got the Claret and Amber till rolls a few seasons ago at Hearts. I am going to get in contact with them in terms of prices and I shall let you know how I get on. Our plan for the semi final was a massive surfer flag with "SHE WORE, SHE WORE" at the top with a huge C&A Ribbon, then the till rolls throughout the Motherwell end for when the teams come out. Anyone who is interested in getting involved, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Understand your point Ladywell but I can assure you that the smokebomb was not let of by anyone involved in making the flags. I think a lot of people on here put 2 and 2 together and get 5 when it comes to these smokebombs, for example you describing it a flare. I for one think they add to the atmosphere but would never let one off, firstly because it is illegal and secondly because I have heard that the club can be punished for this. Just out of interest, can you explain to us who don't know as much about the situation, a bit more about this pressure from the authorities? This may put people of doing this in future. I can't imagine however that Motherwell will be any different from any other club in the Scotland in this regards, Aberdeen, Celtic, Rangers, Dunfermline, Ayr United, Hearts, Hibs are just some of the clubs which I have heard have been using smokebombs this season.

Photo on SNS Pix looks good. 91 players names and "Time for New Hereos" message. Jamie Murphy tweeted "Btw thought the banner in the East Stand was great to see walking out the tunnel..." Plans being confirmed for the Semi as we speak. Aberdeen have been granted the section behind the goals for a signing section for their semi against Celtic. Hopefully MFC can take a leaf from this book and we get somewhat of the same.

To answer your question, I would say YES! The only problem is unless all clubs adapt this cheaper ticketing method it won't really work, will it?

I was only 1 and a half so I don't have any recollection of it but I do have copies of my face and my wee 'Well tammy on the back page of the next day's Evening Times!

Forget about making up new songs and start singing the ones that we already have? That would be a start....

People may have the right to voice their opinion yes, but why do they not voice their opinions when we win? When we play good football? When a certain player has a good game? It's a complete embarassment this website, when we win you will find a thread with something like 2 pages, when we get beat there is threads with 9 pages full of the shame negative guff. We are Motherwell supporters, we are meant to SUPPORT the team!
-
I am a Motherwell fan, the season is over, the players are terrible, the pitch is a joke, the referee was a disgrace, the pies were too cold, the toilets are flooded.............................. *insert more typical moans here* Aye, to be fair the game was pish and we weren't very good but give it a rest. Were in the top 6 which is higher than we should be. If you don't have anything good to say other than moan like fuck then don't say anything at all. Maybe if the amount of noise that's made on here was made in the stands then it may spur the team on to do better.

Just seen the goals on Sky Sports News. Good header from Jeffers and a nice finish from Murphy! Get it up ye Broon!

For me the title of this thread sums up the UK's lack of knowledge when it comes to pyrotechnics at football games and this is what I believe to be more of a problem that the devices themselves. Not once in that BBC article does it mention fireworks and the only game this season in Scotland that I believe a flare was used was Hibs v Ayr United in the Scottish cup. Fireworks are bloody dangerous and I severly doubt you would ever see a football fan lighting a rocket or a Catherine wheel at a game as it could take someones eye out. Flares again are slightly dangerous but extremely dangerous. There is no flames come from flares and the only way you can be hurt by a flare is if you touch it when it is lit. Like others have mentioned smokebombs are in no way whatsoever dangerous but the authorities dont let you stand at fitba these days so it's no surprise they see smokebombs as a danger!

I think the statement contradicts itself. It states that the Commitee is made of a range of ages which does not seem to be the point. The majority of the people I travel to the 'Well games with range from late teens to late twenties and not one person in that group looks under 30. The younger generation of fans always get ignored and this seems to be highlighted by the photo on the official website. I hope this is a step forward for the club but I am sad to say I think it is a step backwards from the MST.

We just had a few lads from Norway over for the game against Rangers yesterday. Met them in The Electric Bar before the home leg of the Europa League match and took them in again before the game yesterday. I'm sure you would be made welcome in there.

After hearing that interview it is safe to say McCall is delusional. There is no way we came on to a game the last 20 minutes, Jones did get down the wing a couple of times but it doesnt matter how many crosses he puts in to the box if there is nobody there to put the ball in the net. Pish performance but what was worse than the teams performance was the typical morons that take up the Motherwell support. You hear absolutely fuck all from them until something goes wrong and then its the heckles, the boo's, the abuse to their own players. I am not a fan of Hateley but booing him when he gets subbed off is totally unacceptable. It is probably the same fans who abuse their own players that come on here and moan about the "wee ned's" standing at games and singing songs.
-
Jones, wouldn't even say he was that good but the best of a bad bunch!
-
I cant believe there is 3 pages on this nonsense, this isnt happening!
-
I am sure there will be banners on display, NO RESPECT certainly seems my favoured choice so far. Got this text to me earlier today to sing up North, to the tune of Glory Glory.... Whoever is our manager there seems to be a theme, They all decide to fuck off and go up to Aberdeen, It happen with McGhee, now its happened with Craig Brown but the Well go marching on! Were the boys in claret and amber, were the boys in claret and amber, were the boys in claret and amber Motherwell go marching on, on, on!
-
I don't have agents phoning me up offering me jobs sadly but I completely share your views. No way am I buying this common courtesy shite. Now not for a second do I think Broon would now go to Aberdeen after saying he is happy where he is but I think he must been slightly interested and the money wasnt good enough.
-
Gaag, do you really think being a smartarse and bringing up all his previous posts makes a point or do you think it backs up my point of people not being hostile? That is a ridiculous way to deal with a poster who is clearly not happy and I severly doubt it's going to encourage him to continue to post on these boards. As the admin or whatever you for one should be showing a bit more support. As I've said and il say it again, were all 'Well fans.... Unity.

Valid point. May I also add that there have been smoke bombs let off at Dundee United v Aberdeen, Aberdeen v Rangers, the recent Old Firm derby and many more games throughout Scotland this year. Not for one minute am I condoning the use of the smoke bombs as I know it is against stadium rules but clearly Motherwell are being victimised and it is punishing the innocent supporters who have not let of the smoke bombs. The smoke bomb issue seems to have been addressed, since the statement there have been none so what has this honestly got to do with flags?
