  1. There's no guarantee whichever Championship side emerges from the play-offs will have much upward momentum. They could easily finish the league season poorly and struggle through, as Rangers did, and everyone knows the whole concept is deliberately loaded against the Championship side. Yeah, there is a distance to go, but there's not a lot of evidence to suggest County will build a head of steam. Our defensive record may be horrific but they've 'bettered' that with a game to spare, and they'd kill for some of those useless draws we've been steadily picking up. Realistically, even that won't be enough - they need to rack up some wins, something half the league have struggled badly with this season. The one area of concern I have is Don Cowie, who surely can't be worse than Adams, although he is saddled with the players the great man left behind. Be very interesting to see if he can get a positive result at Dens today. So, nothing's over, but I'd be a helluva lot more concerned about the top of the Championship if I was a County fan.
  2. In the last 6 games we've taken 10 points. Ross County have taken 1. I take it you don't actually believe in upward momentum then?
  3. Upward momentum. You won't need to worry about a play-off.
  4. If Taylor doesn't cough up some cash, send the 2 wee guys door to door.
  5. Hearts are 22 points ahead of us but we've only lost 2 more games than them, bizarrely. They're 3rd because they don't win all their games, so I'll go with the draw specialists to end their run and take another point.
  6. It was also clear Obika was being held, but Clancy missed both.
  7. I thought so too, but last night showed how useless it is. The confirmation of an offside call, surely the most basic, human error free task it was designed to carry out, ends up looking like somebody used an Etch-a-sketch to make the decision, followed by another example of person or persons taking an eternity to see some things and miss others.
  8. Looking at the carnage in the box after Paton scored, you knew they'd find something. They could just as easily have chopped it off and awarded us a penalty. Farcical, right enough.
  9. 4-3. The linesman flagged for offside before VAR got involved. Ref gave our goal. * as Joe said
  10. Yeah, the coupon buster season is almost upon us. Ross County have a wee run of games now that they must be hoping to take points from. We just need to hope they don't build any momentum, irrespective of our results. Difficult to see how it'll be comfortable for us, or a few others, anytime soon.
  11. Funny to hear Aberdeen fans greetin about VAR. Without it, we'd have won 4-3.
  12. Seems pretty straightforward this year. We're only looking at staying above Ross County as it stands. 15 points available post split - theoretically, they could win their last 5, we could lose ours, so that's the distance we'd need to put between us and them before the split to be safe. Possible, but unlikely.
  13. It wouldn't necessarily be nice.... ....but it does feel necessary.
  14. I did, and the way he's playing right now, I stand by it.
  15. Absolutely agree. It looked to me like some of the defenders had lost patience with him at half time. Reminds me of the panic Stevie Woods was able to create in what was a very decent defence.
  16. As pathetic as our inability to stop conceding soft goals is, our ability to score will keep us up. Ironically.
  17. They'll rule this out, too much going on in the box not to find something.
  18. The Motherwell page is populated by the ones who never made it over the cuckoo's nest.
  19. If it comes to appointing a new manager from outside the club, I think most of us don't have a clue. Luckily, the Facebook intelligentsia are on the case - early favourites include a chimpanzee, a baboon, a dead clown and Stevie Hammell.
  20. Hearts paying Snodgrass €2million per year was a good one. Still dunno how we missed out on him.
  21. That was probably me. I meant that if the club were to bin Kettlewell between now and May, they would promote from within rather than go looking elsewhere, so it would be Frail, Foster or Clarkson. That's only my opinion, not a fact, but I think everything would point to that course. Of course, it's highly unlikely they'll sack him, something Weir appeared to confirm a few weeks ago.
