  1. If we do win tomorrow, be interesting to see if that's described as 2 wins in 20 or 2 wins in 5. Both correct, obviously. Suppose it depends on the argument you want to make.
  2. If our hybrid pitch is similar to Celtic's, Rodgers has been complaining about the state of it recently. Tynecastle and Ibrox were also given as examples when ours was being laid, but I haven't heard of any issues there.
  3. Actually, that's not true. Hammell left after 24 games when we were on 20 points. We've played 23 games so far and have 22 points. We'll see what happens on Tuesday. As shit as our results have been so far, we've been picking up points lately - 6 from our last 5 games. Hammell's side amassed a total of 1 point from his final 5 games. That might be the difference.
  4. Which players did Dawes recommend in the summer and which ones were Kettlewell's?
  5. Must win and can't afford to lose are obviously not quite the same thing. A draw would be a real opportunity missed, but if it ends that way, I don't see how failing to pick up 3 points against Ross County would be worse for us than them, given their current form.
  6. You don't want any more Bairs?
  7. I know folk will be greetin if he doesn't play some of the new guys and managers can see these games as a chance to give players a run out, but yeah, if we're serious about the cup, not too much tinkering.
  8. Victory won't save us, defeat won't kill us, but still a huge game in this wonky league. Level on points in the play-off place, or 6 points above it and probably 1 point off 6th, for 24 hours at least. 3-1
  9. Look at the size of Billy's willy.
  10. Some of the Rangers season ticket holders gave him a warm welcome. Allegedly.
  11. Got to laugh at the media guys remarking how fickle fans are, as if he'd have booted a last minute penalty into the East Stand for old times' sake.
  12. The club does need to develop and sell Lennon Miller, but the manager also has a duty to make sure young players' long term careers don't get jeopardised to suit our short term needs. Kettlewell played Miller often enough before his injury to suggest he rates him very highly.
  13. In the last 5 games the bottom 6 teams have managed 3 wins between them (we have one of them). We're 4 points off 6th place. That's how tight this league is. Tuesday is a chance to pull away a wee bit, but these draws might end up saving us.
  14. I imagine the 'plus' part is why our lot aren't starting either.
  15. So we can get worse, according to you, in the second half. Why?
  16. So those guys are better than Stewart and Van Veen? Or is there maybe another reason he didn't throw them into the starting 11?
  17. Which manager are you talking about?
  18. That dunderheid McInnes has Stewart and Van Veen on the bench.
  19. Yeah, we've seen a lot of loan players being recalled and sent out elsewhere recently, whether that was down to them stepping up a level or just not getting a game. Like you say, it's too risky to rely on getting a season out of a player who's performing well. Biereth is a guy who has a lot of confidence in his own ability and is hungry to prove himself, which worked for us, but no one should be surprised he jumped ship so easily.
  20. As long as he does hee haw today, that's fine, since we're unlikely to face him again in the league. If he's back on form when Killie play the 3 below us, we won't be complaining.
  21. As I read it, nothing was happening until Sturm Graz approached Biereth's agent and Arsenal to ask if something could be done and, since they all wanted it to happen, the deal went through very quickly. The whole thing illustrates why we should & shouldn't go for loan deals.
  22. Sacking the manager ensures nothing.
  23. That was then, this is now, as the players we're able to attract clearly demonstrate. I honestly didn't think you'd want to bring Gannon, McGhee: Part II or Alexander into a conversation about 2.5 year deals.
  24. A manager with the kind of proven track record you're looking for isn't coming here. Unless it's one season wonder Thomas Courts.
