  1. I'm more than happy to deal in reality. We're a poor side, we didn't sign much quality in the summer, we look unlikely to bring much in during this window and our run without a win was the worst since Tommy McLean. I don't ignore or need to defend any of that. However, when folk claim we can't score, reality shows otherwise. Reality shows the non footballer Theo Bair's goal return has been on a par with or better than anyone else signed by any of our potential relegation rivals. And here's the bigger picture - all the pissing and moaning in the world won't change the fact Kettlewell is not getting sacked. We got that straight from the top a week ago, but it clearly didn't register with everyone.
  2. Is he? That's not what he said in his interview.
  3. We also signed a striker who has scored one goal less than our star loanee and as many or more goals than any player outwith Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen. It's amazing what we can choose to ignore when it comes to our own team.
  4. If you've no idea how good or bad Alloa's players are, how can you possibly judge the outcome of the game? Unless you just want to say we'll lose, obviously. The 'we can't score' patter just isn't true - we've scored more goals than Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren - but I suppose it suits your argument.
  5. Why would it be no shock whatsoever for a team halfway down League One to come to a Premier League team and win? Which of their players are the biggest threat to us?
  6. Luckily for us, there are other teams in this league.
  7. If he's gone, he's gone, bugger all we can do about it and the club will just need to get on with it. I certainly wasn't implying he's terrifying to face or it would hurt more to see him score against us, but he's already proved he can score in this league, so I'd rather he didn't continue doing so against us.
  8. If he's off, fair enough, as long as it's nowhere in Scotland.
  9. Wouldn't surprise me. Wednesday's new manager is picking up loanees who've done well at a lower level. It's a good move for everyone involved, except us.
  10. Scott Burns saying we're not interested in him.
  11. Stories doing the rounds that Sheffield Wednesday want him, but haven't seen anything definite yet.
  12. He seems to have been playing regularly, 6 goals in 16.
  13. Never bothered me who our signings used to play for, but I'm not overly keen on us bringing in someone who seems to have spent more time talking about who he used to play for than actually playing.
  14. Knowing us, it'll be a no hamstrings attached contract.
  15. The 2 guys Wednesday have already brought in were on loan elsewhere and had those deals terminated. There's no doubt they're playing at a higher level, so you could understand why Arsenal would think it's a good move, and I doubt we forced them into a watertight season long arrangement.
  16. Is that because he played with the Ranjurs?
  17. Think it was a 3 or 4 month extension for Tanner and he rejected a further extension.
  18. It leaves us a midfielder short of where we thought we were, which is less than ideal given our options. Crisis is pushing it, though. Miller supposedly back 'involved' in training.
  19. Turnbull struggles to get in that team and the national side, Taylor doesn't. There's no accounting for taste.
  20. The problem I have with Slattery is his habit of 'initiating contact'. He was clean through in the recent game against St Mirren but seemed more intent on making sure he was brought down than getting a shot away. Later on, he shrugged off a couple of their players who were trying to foul him and went on a run. He's got that ability in him but appears content to take the lazy option too often.
