  1. Turnbull struggles to get in that team and the national side, Taylor doesn't. There's no accounting for taste.
  2. The problem I have with Slattery is his habit of 'initiating contact'. He was clean through in the recent game against St Mirren but seemed more intent on making sure he was brought down than getting a shot away. Later on, he shrugged off a couple of their players who were trying to foul him and went on a run. He's got that ability in him but appears content to take the lazy option too often.
  3. Hopefully it's just a rumour, but it would seem a strange one if there's no truth to it.
  4. I thought that's what we pay the head of recruitment to do? Either way, it would mean the manager has another first choice player he can neither play nor move on, so I don't see any positives.
  5. No idea, but they seem sure he's picked up a serious injury. Suppose we'll hear something during the week if it's true.
  6. Yeah, I imagine the video's purpose, ultimately, was to encourage someone, somewhere to consider investing in Motherwell FC. They could've tried the approach of listing our league and cup triumphs, or showcasing our European glories over stirring music, but anyone checking the club out would take 5 minutes to discover the reality of things. Nobody in the video suggested the club was going to the wall unless folk send them donations today, so I don't personally get the begging/embarrassment thing. If there is a club in Scotland not interested in finding investors, sponsors etc I'd love to know which one. And if they're sitting on their hands waiting for it to miraculously drop into their bank account, god help them.
  7. Motherwell seats are fucking shite. No support.
  8. A few folk on Pie & Bovril saying Slattery's out for the season, or longer.
  9. In what reality does Taylor Swift phone Motherwell FC up and offer them a few million quid because a wee laddie said 'geez yer dosh'?
  10. They're not actually begging Taylor Swift for money, as you well know. But do go on.
  11. He's unlucky, his backheel took a slight deflection of a team mate. If it had been a defender I think he'd have got the goal.
  12. And more games for us than any of the others, which says it all.
  13. Don't worry, if Admin 2 does come, you'll be gone in an explosion of ecstacy.
  14. Thought so. You may hate the video, plenty do, but if the club don't use social media at all, how do they get the message out?
  15. Scored the winner again tonight. If they're forced to offload him because they're skint, what are the chances we could afford his wages?
  16. Furlong on the bench for Hull tonight.
  17. They did, and it is, so maybe they'll repeat their mistake.
  18. Moult's injured. No idea how long for, but surely they won't be letting Watt go anywhere just now unless they're skint.
  19. As I said, I've no problem with anyone thinking certain players aren't good enough for us, far better than Bair have had that accusation thrown at them. It's the amateur stuff I can't agree with. Ideally, we'd be signing higher quality all over the park, but we are where we are these days, and we're not on our lonesome. Bair being so high up the scoring charts proves that.
  20. Took him to 24, but he's into double figures now. We'll all have our opinion on how good he is, same as every other player we sign, absolutely no issues with that. Stats may prove he's not the greatest striker to grace Fir Park - they also show only 10 guys have scored more goals than him so far this season. They certainly don't suggest he's incapable of playing above amateur level or isn't good enough to be regarded as a footballer.
  21. I'd be interested to know what stats suggest he is not a footballer.
  22. Yeah, I know you think certain players aren't fit to play professional football. How's that going?
  23. Fair point, although 2 years can make a big difference at that stage, as can the club you're with. Doesn't always work this way, but I'm sure we'd expect more from an 18 year old coming from Arsenal than an 18 year old with Alloa. Experience wise, the Eredivisie is clearly of a higher standard than the Canadian Premier League. The boy might turn out to be a great player, but if Kettlewell wants signings who will make a difference between now and May and our finances are as stretched as we're repeatedly told, I doubt he should be looking at someone who has been playing professional football for 6 months at that level. We've enough kids of our own with skelfs in their arses.
  24. I agree about potential investors. Anyone looking to make a profit from a club our size is either bonkers or worth the watching. I suppose bonkers would be the preferred option, so maybe that's who this video is aimed at.
