  1. You don't even need to leave the 'shire to find an example of one who did.
  2. We know who you mean. So who in Scottish football would be good examples of what we're looking for?
  3. Given those twin definitions, it would be interesting to hear who people think the professionals are in Scottish football.
  4. If we want to play a clutch of 17 or 18 year olds in the first team on a regular basis, that's one way to go, but it would certainly be in the Championship, or lower, very soon. The SPL may be full of dross, but that dross would eat those kids for breakfast unless they were very special talents. I suppose that's the choice we need to make - is survival in the top flight the be all and end all?
  5. The problem we have with building a side where promising youngsters mix with older heads is, at the slightest sign of promise these days, someone flashes the cash. We need the money, obviously, but we're not getting much return from the youth system team wise.
  6. That's you out the running for our new chairman. And it won't be the diehards who save the club if it's in as bad a state as some are saying. I wonder if Chris McClure stuck his panto money in an ISA?
  7. That tells you those clubs have more money to spend. What do Connor Wilkinson or Josh Morris tell you?
  8. I don't know where they imagine the ceiling is for Wrexham, but they'll find out. Once you look below the Championship, English football is mostly dross. Adams might be right about the current standard of skill shown in many SPL games but his claim a mid table League 2 side is 100 times better than Ross County is ludicrous. How many more shit players do we need to import from there to prove that?
  9. Adams should be happy he's back in a league full of very poor players. 24.3 and 27.3 win percentages in his last 2 jobs would suggest he had become a very poor manager in amongst the big boys.
  10. Agreed. But I think we will start winning games, sooner rather than later.
  11. His Uncle Roy sacked Dick Campbell after a couple of months because the team weren't playing the right style of football, supposedly on the say-so of Adams Snr. Being top of the league obviously didn't wash. Wee Derek got the job back then, so mibbe he'll get Morecambe FC in his Christmas stocking this year.
  12. Slattery's was the one that really annoyed me. The other guys could've done better, but he only had eyes for the penalty - again. There was one move where he turned a couple of players and got away from them, despite their efforts to pull him down. He's got that ability, but he looks for the easy option far too often, as his ridiculous number of bookings demonstrate.
  13. Rangers - very doubtful. Livi - why not? In those last 7 matches, we've picked up 5 points and lost 2 games. They've lost 6 and picked up 1 point. If you're expecting a miraculous turn around in form from them, then why would it be doubful we could do the same?
  14. When he's stopped reversing that bus over them he might as well stay on it, cos he's a goner.
  15. You do wonder, but I don't think he's wrong. Hard to imagine his players nodding along, though, so keep it up Del.
  16. Absolutely true. It's chronic, but it's also the reason why we're still not anywhere near adrift and could be what saves us again. Our 5th place finish under Alexander proved the level of ineptitude in this league. 5 months of pitiful results and we still couldn't be shifted from the top 6.
  17. We need to look after our own business, but the only forward who scored in the Premiership today was Shankland. We are far from alone.
  18. Anything's a possibility, but past experience and the laws of probability would suggest it'll end before then. Whatever else this team is, it's not much worse than most of its opponents, nor has it given up. If you want rid of Kettlewell to get us winning again, that's understandable, but there's absolutely no guarantee who or what will follow. He walks and is replaced by Frail, Foster or Clarkson - does anyone fancy that? And if not them, who? Ian Murray would be the obvious candidate, but why the hell would he take the job at this time? Whatever side of the fence we're on with this, it's all guesswork. Hammell's sacking seemed inevitable and necessary to virtually everyone. Despite this run, I don't think a huge majority feel the same way about Kettlewell - yet.
  19. How can anyone know we won't win until February?
  20. Instead of bottom. Have you worked out what Gretna have to do with this yet?
