  1. No, I don't know it. I agree we need to be winning games and not relying on other teams, but fans of those sides will be saying the exact same thing. If a point tonight is a useless result for us, how will Ross County feel about it? And how can a team on such a horrendous run still be in 8th place, even allowing for the odd game in hand (Aberdeen apart)? There is nothing inevitable about this league other than average to poor performances from average to poor teams, and since I can't see anyone around us going on a miraculous winning run, I suspect it might come down to the wire, at least for the play-off place. So, as disappointing as a draw would be tonight, I'd still class this as a must-not-lose game rather than a must-win.
  2. What's inevitable - Ross County, St Johnstone and Livingston winning games?
  3. McGinn being assessed for a return today.
  4. That's a whole different story. But if we want to remain a top team at the end of the season, those points might just be the difference.
  5. No he hasn't, because he said we'd lose the last 2 for starters. 7 nil at Parkhead.
  6. Kettlewell lost 4 in a row, that's how this run started. Hammell's final 4 games, including the Raith Rovers cup tie, were all defeats. He hadn't won in 11 league games when he was sacked. I suppose the main differences are, we were joint bottom when Hammell went and it looked very much like the team had jacked it. At least (or mibbe most) this lot still have some fight about them.
  7. It's not controversial at all and as I said earlier, I can understand why folk want him away. But every time we win, you have a reason why it's not a meaningful win - they're shit, their manager's shit, they weren't really trying, they were tired. I've yet to see you offer a single excuse for our team losing a game.
  8. Your argument seems to be that our wins against top 6 sides and bottom 6 sides last season don't really count, for one reason or another. Nor do our wins against anyone this season, again, for reasons you've decided render them meaningless. But every defeat or draw under Kettlewell proves his ineptitude. Sounds like there's nothing he could do to please you. Other than resign, obviously.
  9. Ok. But we beat Hibs and Hearts earlier this season and drew with Celtic again last week.
  10. It's not a difficult question at all. They won't actually get to pick the next guy, so they can remove all the possible obstacles and just name someone they want. If you want one guy out, you surely must have some opinion on his replacement.
  11. Probably. But if folk want rid of Kettlewell, I'd like to hear who they want, not who they'll get.
  12. Kettlewell could easily be sacked based on recent results, so it's understandable some folk want him out. I'd be interested to hear their preferred options for his replacement.
  13. You may want to read my comment again.
  14. Statistically, who would our next manager be?
  15. In all seriousness, I think I will never want Motherwell to lose, whatever the reasons or circumstances. And in all seriousness, I don't think you feel the same way.
  16. Take the lead and win. First bit done.

  18. You're absolutely right, 11 games, bookended by wins against Celtic and Hearts. I'm hopeful, rather than optimistic, we'll win today, but I always am.
  19. I think discussing the club's transfer policy, past and future, is fair enough in a thread set up to discuss transfers, in and out. Rumour wise, what've we got to talk about? Moult (obviously bollocks) and Van Veen.
  20. As long as we continue to be 'fan owned', we'll continue as is.
  21. If David's plan worked we'd be successful, and in football, like any other business, that brings predators. The only way we could hang onto good players would be paying them significantly more money. And the only way we can get significantly more money, without outside investment, is by selling good players. I understand the idea is to buy cheap, sell dear and build up funds over time, enabling us to retain the core of the squad. But the whole plan surely relies on selling your best player/s on a regular basis, and that can have a huge effect on the rest of the team. Ambitious players will always be looking elsewhere.
