  1. Well deserved. Missing the Cup Final must've been a hard one to take, but he stuck around, unlike a few others. He was also part of the best Motherwell team I've watched. And if VAR had been around to check our goals, the game would've finished 10 minutes ago.
  2. It's hardly cherry picking to point out the huge increase in the number of goals we're losing now compared to when we were winning games. You can blame the manager and/or the board for that, but until our defence stops leaking like a sieve, we're gonnae keep losing - and even last season's van Veen would struggle to stop that.
  3. Ourselves, Kilmarnock, Livingston and Aberdeen all managed one shot on target this weekend. St Mirren had the sum total of zero and Ross County went daft with two. It's a shit league, which is lucky for us.
  4. In the final 5 games of last season we scored 9 goals and conceded 3. In our last 5 games we have scored 8 goals and conceded 12. I don't have blinkers on or a guide dug, and it doesn't look like it's a lack of goals that's killing us.
  5. If we had an actual owner of the club, they'd have delivered the manger's baws on a platter by now. There might also be money to go out and head hunt a boss rather than go down the route we're on. Having said that, we could ask Hibs fans how that approach has worked for them. Or all the other clubs whose genius owners employ/sack a serial failure every 6 months.
  6. Fair enough. I misunderstood the 'for you' bit. I don't doubt there are some folk who would want McFadden as manager (as proved on here), though I've never actually met anyone who does, and I'd hazard a guess he's even less interested in the job than Craigan. In the real world, we might well be looking at Frail.
  7. Yer fine. I know what year it is and I've no desire to see McFadden as our manager. Where did you dream that one up?
  8. I think Faddy might like to see you in the hot seat. If he gets to throw the switch.
  9. We'll never know, but Fletcher injured his knee after 3 or 4 weeks at Wrexham and he's just had an operation that could keep him out till next year. The club took a chance on Moult last season and were slaughtered when it went wrong, so they were never going to chance that happening again. He's doing well in the Championship, but most of the teams he's facing are of a lower standard than the ones we're up against (if that's conceivable) and there are major concerns about him playing on artificial surfaces. Imagine we signed him and he couldn't play at Rugby Park or Almondvale. Mind you, none of that excuses the guys we did sign/re-sign.
  10. It's definitely more of an issue now. Last season, those goals would've got us the six to eight points. Assuming he gets more time, Kettlewell has a couple of weeks to come up with a way to stop us losing cheap goals and then hope the players can implement his plans. If either of them don't, he's done.
  11. Probably the #Relegation, relegation, Ole, Ole, Ole# part. It's a distinct possibility every season, and if you keep saying it every season, eventually you'll be right. Luckily for us, if you keep saying we won't win every week, eventually you'll be wrong.
  12. Our success last season wasn't just built on one guy discovering his shooting boots. The fact we stopped shipping goals meant we could win games 1-0 or 2-1. Now we can't seem to get started until we're 2 down - you can't score 8 goals in 5 games but come away with just 2 points. We've outscored half the teams in this league, including Hearts, but we can't beat any of them. It's pretty easy to see the first thing that needs done if we're gonnae give ourselves a chance of doing that, since we're clearly not going to find another KVV in January.
  13. Fair enough, obviously you don't hold him responsible for our current problems. But do you credit him in any way for last season's turnaround, or was it just down to one guy scoring goals?
  14. How many goals does any manager score? If you're going to blame Kettlewell for the current team playing so badly, he has to get some credit for the way things picked up last season.
  15. I've no objection to them getting dropped - I'm not sure why they were brought here in the first place/had their contract extended. It's the practicality of getting rid of them altogether in November I'm questioning.
  16. Next? You didn't answer either question. I'm not talking about the starting 11. You want those players out the door tonight. That means paying up the best part of 5 years worth of contracts to shift them, because they can't go anywhere else. And you think reducing our squad by 3 a couple of months before they can be replaced sounds like a good plan?
  17. How would you go about doing that, and who would you replace them with?
  18. I think he'll get till the Dundee game, but if the board are waiting to see what happens at Parkhead, they'd be as well pulling the trigger now.
  19. A Freudian slip. Which is also Martin Boyle's speciality.
  20. The Hearts fans are greetin about their team having no pace or creativity in it today, Naismith setting up for a draw and headed for the door. You'd struggle get a Rizla between most teams this season, and it seems to be the same when it comes to the attitude of fans.
  21. In fairness, you said we were beat days before the team was named.
  22. I'd say a) get back to keeping clean sheets or losing no more than one goal. Then b) might follow, as it often did last season.
