  1. Yeah, I liked his style too. Wonder how he'd cope with VAR, right enough.
  2. Talking of Moult and Lewis, I see Ryan Bowman was released by Shrewsbury Town. And no, I'm not.
  3. I can think of one thing that's surer....
  4. I was surprised Oxborough was offered a new deal and signed it, but on reflection, it's probably not that weird. It may seem like he's made a quick decision on his future but he has no doubt seen Kelly's departure coming for some time, given most of us did. He must have known how difficult it would be to shift the club captain and regular member of the Scotland squad from the starting line-up, and in general, the patience levels of goalkeepers are probably much higher than those of outfield players. We have no idea what Kettlewell's told him re his plans for next season, though I doubt he's said you have no chance of becoming number 1. As for moving closer to home, who knows, maybe he actually likes it here.
  5. He thinks he's capable of playing in the Premier League, so he isn't flattered by any interest from there. He might stay at Raith, he might not. No mention of Motherwell, or anyone else, from Easton, just mentioned as a rumour in the article.
  6. Joe Lewis makes as much sense as the Stefan Scougall rumour did. Why would we be after a 36 year old who - unless I've missed something - hasn't played for a year and was never that good in the first place?
  7. Know he wasn't everyone's favourite, but I always liked him when he was here.
  8. My apologies. Must be time for a drink.
  9. I'm not trying to justify anything. But if a guy like Tommy McLean chose to stick a player who could hardly move on the bench for a cup final, then actually bring him on when the game was still in the balance, anything's possible. Kettlewell obviously has a lot of time for Butcher. Maybe saying he chose not to accept our offer seemed a nicer parting of the ways. If anyone knows what that offer was, fair enough, I'd be interested to hear the details.
  10. But not for everyone, which still defies logic.
  11. I agree re Mugabi, but not with the scared to sign players bit. Bringing Bair here took some balls.
  12. If he's seen as a squad player, not first choice, and the offer reflects that, fair enough. As others have said in the past, the quality of any player willing to sit on the Motherwell bench will not be that great. Dare say a few on the under contract and made offers lists won't be here in August.
  13. Pretty much what I would've expected, but Oxborough really surprises me. Wonder if he'll get a shot at becoming number 1?
  14. I just don't get the Raith Rovers thing, whether it be Easton, Vaughan, Brown or Dubrowski. The outfield players are all 30 or thereabouts and have very little to absolutely no Premier League experience. I haven't seen anything to suggest they'd cut it at this level on a regular basis. As for Dubrowski, I know we're looking for a keeper who'll come off his line, but he was very lucky not to sell a goal with a brainfart charge out his box last night.
  15. Now I cannae get Fleetwood Mac out of my head.
  16. Has anyone actually seen anything saying he's coming here?
  17. Pass on my best wishes to her.
  18. Also true, you can never be certain of any signing, but sometimes there are wee clues or lessons to be learned. A guy approaching his mid 30s who is repeatedly out with the same 'niggling' problem - sounds familiar.
  19. True. But do you know what we'd be getting?
  20. 15 games, last start on New Year's Day, 34 in November. There would be an awful lot of questions needing answered if we were interested in Hutchison.
  21. No idea, but the Dutch word for one is een, if that helps.
  22. By 'treated like garbage' at Parkhead, do you mean he wasn't given a long run as a starter, or are you saying something else has been going on?
