  1. The injuries to players who were a huge part of our win last time might well be too much for us, but it's Hibs, so anything's possible.
  2. They were poor, but I'd still argue we wouldn't have been in that play-off to begin with if some players had shown as much desire during the season. Absolutely agree Baraclough shouldn't have been judged on those games, and he should've been shown the door irrespective of the result. Not nice, but necessary.
  3. There are still questions Alexander will need to answer next season, but completely agree. No idea how Baraclough's landed the Northern Ireland job, but he obviously impresses some folk. Always wondered how much the players were on to win the play-off, given how far their collective fingers were suddenly pulled out.

Wish someone at the club had said 'wouldn't make much sense' before we signed him. Not the guy's fault he's injured, but it's pretty clear he wasn't match fit to begin with.

Serious question - is he actually here?
  6. Right manager, decent squad, no reason why we can't compete for top 6 - and better - most years. We'll have poor campaigns, happens to everyone. Since our last relegation Dundee Utd have spent 5 seasons in Div 1/Championship, Hibs 4 and Hearts have gone down twice in the last 5 years. Sometimes we'll have to grin and bear it, but the trick is not getting into a tailspin. Given our apparent inability to buy, never mind buy big, recruitment and management are everything to us. Whoever recruited this crop needs hunted (if they're still here) and Alexander will get his chance to prove this isn't good enough over the summer.

He'd need to, couldnae pick him out an identity parade.
  8. Don't know what evidence was used to find him guilty, but Slavia aren't keen on fighting it now he only got a 10 game ban. Apologised for the distress caused to Kamara and say they want to work with anti racism groups in order to learn from the incident and stop it happening at the club in the future. As denials go, pish poor. Like the punishment.
  9. Alexander has provided an update on the midfielder: “I have just seen him there with a bag of ice on his leg. I think that’s a first that I have not seen Allan Campbell complete a game never mind a training session. He is a tough boy, fit as anything so fingers-crossed he will be ok for the coming games because he is a massive player for us. “I think the ice pack is around his thigh area but I haven’t spoken to him about it. You fear the worst when someone like Allan Campbell comes off because you think he is beyond human. But he probably showed he is actually human.”
  10. Yeah, there's no quick fix. But with Watt and Roberts out, there goes the link up play. Lawless has been completely ineffectual in 2 games, so I suppose we're banking on Hastie now. He did have more about him last night, right enough. We've more players on our books than some mall countries have to pick from, and we can't play any formation other than 4-3-3? I'm not seeing much from Alexander that your average fan couldn't provide. Same team, go out and try hard. If only we had an answer to what the plans are for Mugabi and Crawford next season. Though we probably wouldn't like it.
  11. Probably been mentioned, but for midweek, is Polworth injured? Bruised ego, skelfs in his arse?

I could agree with both, though I'd definitely lean towards Kelly if he was here longer term. O'Donnell is quiet - was he captain at Killie? But I wonder if taking the captaincy off Gallagher at this stage, now he's back in the side, could just create a bigger, needless problem. We need (cliche alert) leaders throughout the team, and they're virtually non-existent, apart from Kelly.
  13. It's never looked right. When we get away with it, it's just that - getting away with it. I understand why Alexander won't publicly tear them a new one, the squad he inherited, the difficulty of findng decent players in January, the endless injuries etc etc, but I'd expect a manager to come up with something different when there's a glaring problem game after game. The only hope is he's just trying to get to the summer safely, but I'm not entirely convinced.
  14. If we're gonnae be without our better players for the foreseeable, last week's win might prove even bigger than it seemed. Those injuries, tonight's performance, our record against Accies and their desperate need for 3 points should see them win. So I'll say 2-1 to us, based on absolutely nothing.
  15. Followed by a (one fingered?) brush of the shoulder in Lennon's direction. Class.
  16. True. Our performance concerns me greatly, their going out, not one bit.
  17. Your positivity will get you through it, either way. Fingers crossed. I hope they distract you happily from here on in!
  18. Jesus, perspective. I'm so sorry. If there's still a doubt, I really hope it goes the right way for you Yorky.
  19. Well, Celtic and Utd are still in, so you never know. I could never, never want Motherwell to lose just to prove a point, but I can muster about as much enthusiasm about the prospects of this side as half the players display most weeks.
  20. I've seen worse, yeah. Not often, and I doubt it was in the last 30 years though. Even with the Malpas side, the finger would be pointed at him more than the players.
  21. That's where the comparison starts and ends.
  22. 40 plus years of watching Motherwell, I'm not overly demanding, but by god, you're easy pleased.
  23. Does anyone still want to claim this squad is not as bad as we thought? This is the norm from them, not the rare occasions they raise their game a bit.
