Tit for tat. Or vice versa.
-
This is what happens when you sign forwards who can't score.
-
Are they spinning a wheel with names on it? I get we're no signing from the top table, but it's looking really haphazard now.
-
Robbie Neilson.
-
Dunne's contract extended till the end of the season.
-
I see Turnbull's refusing to agree with Lennon that the players have let him down, says that's his opinion. Headline doesn't tell the story, as ever. But aye, guaranteed he'll score against us.
-
Aye, time to let it go. He's had his say, so I assume we'll be hearing no more about our playing staff from him and we'll all live happily ever after.
-
If you listened to it you would be able to give an honest opinion on what he said. Probably still be different from mine, but that's what makes horse races.
-
I don't blame him for talking himself up, if he's on about cup finals, 3rd place, Europe. But he's getting into stuff regarding players and the club that's purely designed to deflect any hint of criticism from himself. I've heard more about the inner workings of Motherwell from him in the past 7 days than I have from the last 7 managers combined. You're ok with that, I'm not, and I'm reasonably sure there will be folk at the club who would rather he'd keep certain stuff to himself, at least for more than a month.
-
Aye, they're imploding, so leave them to it. Our only concern is the points.
-
In the case of Robinson, he's chosen to turn up everywhere talking about his time at the club. If he wants to talk about staff who are still at the club, that's up to him, but do you doubt for a second this is all being said to suit his own agenda? As for current players going on telly to give opinions on teams, players and managers they're due to face, it's gonnae be a case of they say nothing, or something, and that something will piss somebody off, whether it's at Motherwell or elsewhere. They want the money, that's the trade off.
-
He did say he hoped the gap could get closer for the sake of entertainment in Scottish football, because it's disappointing to see Rangers so far ahead. No really bothered about that. Asking for his opinions on whether Lennon should go and why Shane Duffy's so shit highlights the problem with guys who are still playing going on these shows. Glad he soft soaped them, given we're heading there in 7 days.
-
Funny how they spent years failing in Europe cos the rest of us were shite.
-
Take it he didnae enlighten us on his future, or was he even asked?
-
I think it would be fair to say that, whatever their current defensive state, the signing of Gallagher - or O'Donnell - would do hee haw to pacify Celtic fans. Probably true then.
-
I doubt we could encourage him with a cattle prod.
-
If he gets the Killie job, fingers crossed he doesn't raid us for players in the summer.
-
Getting players from clubs deemed to be at a lower level has always been part of our recruitment process. How many great signings came from the juniors, even up to Dougie Arnott? Going down the leagues in England, if these guys are stand outs, surely they're a risk worth taking? If they're surplus to requirements at their previous clubs, somebody's got to be sure they see something others don't.
-
Yeah, I was under the impression he had blamed O'Donnell at the time, which made what he said last night even more pointless. He didn't blame him directly, but anyone listening who doesn't follow us as closely as we do, would certainly have got the impression the young guy was somehow responsible. Could be down to a poor choice of words, but I think some of the stuff he's getting into would be better left till the summer at least. The big question for me is how he got his heid oot the door?
-
Not much cop at training then?
-
"....we end up losing a goal in the last minute after bringing a young player on" If you were Dean Cornelius, how would you feel about that statement? Robinson's made plenty comments about more senior guys not wanting to be at Fir Park, but he never names them. 'Throwing them under the bus' was his own description of publicly criticising players.
-
He can go where he likes, when he likes. He can also use his achievements here to get him that job. However, he feels the need to lay the blame for this season at every door bar his own, in print, on YouTube and now on radio. Saying 'the buck stops with me' is commendable if you're actually gonnae accept some responsibility for what's gone wrong, but he's not for doing that. Fair enough, his concern here is - and was - Stephen Robinson. Mine is Motherwell.
-
5 points from 12 vs 3 from 24, leaving aside the Hamilton debacle. Managing to equalise and showing some fight. I'd say those were the biggest changes. Robinson's free to say what he likes about his time at the club, but if he was really interested in what's best for Motherwell he could hang fire till the summer. But then, sounds like he's looking for a job now.
-
Hartley claimed at the time he wanted to stay, but the club withdrew his contract offer for financial reasons. He didn't sign for the Indian club till September, so it doesn't look likely that was why he left. Robinson implied he had nothing to do with either of them going.
-
In his interview tonight he said he had to bring on a young guy late in the game and that basically cost us the win. Easy enough to work out who he meant. Yeah, I recall him blaming the more experienced guys at the time. Too much of that for me: I'm not blaming anyone, but - and, the buck stops with me, but I didn't do anything wrong. He's walked away saying there are guys in that dressing room who don't want to be there. He won't name names, obviously, so that leaves just about every player under suspicion. As for his mumping about the strain dealing with covid put on him, now he's nice and refreshed and relaxed, mibbe he could do a few shifts in a hospital and take that clown Lennon with him. I thought his time was up but I had a lot of respect for him. That's diminishing every time he opens his mouth.
