  1. Like a feather falling off the Empire State Building.
  2. Described as an intelligent player who can pass a ball, exactly what we need. But he has to be physically up to it and ready to hit the ground running. Brian McClair mark 2 is no use to us.
  3. If you find the negativity nauseating, I find some of the positivity perplexing. I'll go down the road of realism and see where that leads. I'm 52. The last time we were relegated from the Premier I was 16. That's a truly phenomenal record we should be proud of, conveniently forgetting the 2 get out of jail cards. The odds would tell us it'll come again, but I'm hopeful we can keep defying them for a while longer. When teams do go down it's not just because they're shit. Injuries, poor refereeing decisions and general bad luck all play their part. This season's turning into a cluster **** of all those things. We've lost a manager more than halfway through the season (another relegation prerequisite) and his parting shot is, there are players in this squad who don't want to be here. If he's right, these are some of the guys we're relying on to save us. All in all, I don't think it's unreasonable to be worried at this stage. A win tomorrow would go a long, long way to lifting everyone's expectations. But this season - specifically this season - laying any blame for our predicament at the fans door is like blaming Sportscene viewers for Celtic's collapse.
  4. We'll see tomorrow night if those players really believe and, more importantly, really care. Robinson doesn't think they all do - “I learned a lesson this season that boys didn’t want to be here. On paper they looked good but if you don’t want to play for the club deep down… it’s something learned." I've no reached the giving up stage, but I don't see any point in ignoring reality. It's a fans' forum, not the dressing room.
  5. Here's the thing: folk commenting on here aren't the shitebags who've put us at the arse end of the league. Would you fancy being in the trenches with that lot?
  6. At least you know he could improve. He won't be here long term, but the only way I'd want rid just now is if he's not been trying a leg - and surely he'd be out the door already if that were the case.
  7. The players already here have till 8pm tomorrow night to prove they have anything about them. Sitting joint bottom after 23 games, I think that's being generous. Another failure, the board have 4 more days. If neither do the business, I wouldn't fancy being in Graham Alexander's shoes on February 1st.
  8. I think he was sent off for a combination of accusing the ref of cheating us and putting his hand on him. Like Polworth, he'd already been booked, then got a straight red.
  9. I think if we lose, it could very well be season defining. Then you're not far away from needing favours in addition to picking up enough points to get out the bottom 2. We look devoid of confidence and we've been easy beat all season. If the new manager bounce doesn't kick in sharpish we'll be relying on a few new signings from the lower leagues to save us.
  10. You'd definitely be looking for more from him, but if he goes it's another headache to replace him. There's other positions needing sorted out right now, so I hope he stays till the end of the season.
  11. Beat the 3rd and 4th place teams. We really need a win here, cos County look like they will pick the odd 3 points up under Hughes. Drifting along hoping other teams are shitter isn't an option anymore. Got ourselves into this, got to get ourselves out.
  12. I can think of a few who need it, but who did you mean for Hunt? Or did you misspell Polworth?
  13. Saw a picture of him celebrating a Celtic cup final win, Alfie Conn and Paul Wilson in there too. Plus Andy Lynch, who scored as many goals for Motherwell in a single night as Seedorf and White combined have managed in their time here.
  14. Because it's not years later, it's this season and basically his squad. His future reputation with fans - not the media - will depend on whether we stay up or not. If you were fed up reading folk's views on him, it was easy enough to ignore the thread. Look back a few pages and amongst the hot topics 'clogging up the servers' are, several more on Robinson, Turnbull, Tait, Vigurs, Lambert and Esteban Casagolda.
  15. I'll keep an eye out for it turning up in the Barcelona fans forum.
  16. I see the Stephen Robinson thread's gone. Was it sacked or did it resign?
  17. Man Utd tried our bye kick routine today. And Liverpool scored.
  18. I remember a few games where we were lucky to register more than one or two shots on goal, but I can't argue with their 'modest' goal scoring career records.
  19. Though it's hard to judge any forward too harshly with a non existent supply chain behind them.
  20. There's the problem. We may have decent young guys at the club, but are we likely to get the chance to develop them into first team players before they're off? Not that it matters when it comes to keeping us up this season. No sure how we can dismiss getting a short term fix from the Old Firm on the basis they might reap the benefit long term.
  21. The more I see the penalty that should've been, the worse it looks from our point of view. I don't buy that our players missed it - anyone watching the game saw it straight away and Alexander was chirping at the fourth official - so why the feck were they not screaming at the ref? If that's how bothered they are about things, the game's up.
  22. If an appeal fails, do they still double the suspension?
