  1. Does Sedden get the goal? Was it going in anyway?
  2. There's so much space in and around both boxes already. The games well open. Miller saw the headlines there and shat it unfortunately. Decent start though.
  3. Robinson missed a sitter, I'm sure Moses managed to miss a guilt edge chance in the first half as well as ducking to avoid heading an inch perfect cross from O'Donnell of all people. Wilson hit a shot narrowly over in the first and had a cracking long range shot saved by Laidlaw in the second. We also hit the post in the second half. We may have looked pedestrian at times but we created numerous opportunities over the 90 minutes for sure.
  4. Wilson had his best game to date for us today. Great on the offensive and always trying to get forward. Gordon was good too. Cruised through the game and had White in his back pocket all game.
  5. It's horrendous. The usual slaters just don't know how to support the club. We could replace kettlewell with ancelotti and he'd get the same dogs abuse for his setup and selections. It's chronic negativity. Don't expect any suggestion of who we should replace the manager with or what players we should sign because you will be simply ghosted. We weren't even that bad today. Created numerous chances although we didn't take them. Clean sheet with the defence and goalkeeper looking solid and largely untroubled all afternoon. We've just kicked off the season ffs. Fine margins and we've won today by 2 or 3.
  6. That's McMahon officially resigned. The takeover aside, I thank him for his service to the club and wish him all the best for the future. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/08/01/jim-mcmahon-steps-down-as-chairman/
  7. Agreed. If Wilson is unable to get to the byline and put decent crosses in he should be no more than a defensive backup. We desperately lack pace on the flanks and without it we'll struggle to create this season. Regards to the defence. Kettlewell must find a settled combination and play them together consistently. Chopping and changing the centre backs every other week is no good.
  8. This could be good business short and long term. Proven goalscorer in the A league, only 25 and bought for a reasonable fee. If he does well this season and next we could be looking at another 7 figures potentially.
  9. Declan Gallagher, Tony Watt the obvious ones. Here's one from left field, Alex Rod Gorrin. I don't hate the guy but I remember being a bit hurt by his departure. Especially with it being too such low a level as Oxford.

And don't forget it's sister health advice. "How much do you cough up for cigarettes?"
  11. I think I heard him a while ago say he'd rather not go into it on radio. He'll have a few quid invested in the club so I imagine he'll keep his cards close to his chest.
  12. Admittedly I was one of the supporters whom favoured EB's proposal initially. Probably due to a bit of a last season hangover and the emotional turmoil last season produced. Having had time to digest the proposals from both sides I'll be sticking with the WS. Whom I trust to have the interests of the club at the forefront of any decisions made. Barmack's plans for the future of my club are on the whole simply too vague to take the risk in my view.
  13. Welcome to the club Liam. Another that will get a good preseason under his belt and hopefully will hit the ground running come the new campaign.
  14. He's got an eye for goal for sure. Scored a few black pearlers in the past 😂
  15. Hope he's quicker than his brother Jack
  16. Good signing. Thought people were Balmering me up when I heard the rumours. 👀
  17. We have to look beyond the money here. The Barmacks are and were never going to be a sugerdaddy to the club, bankrolling us with millions of pounds year in year out. What this is is an opportunity to open new avenues to selling the club home and abroad with the purpose of generating new fans and investment in a safe and sustainable way. The Barmacks have the knowledge and platforms to do just that. With the welfare and assets of the club protected and safeguarded I don't see what we've got to lose.
  18. I'm sorry to see Bevis leave but I agree that consistency was never his strong point. On his day he's a brick wall but when off it could be partial to the odd error or two. That said, the back line being shuffled and changed week in week out last season can't have helped any of our defenders. The defence as much as any other department on the park requires a level of consistency in terms of selection. Allowing the players (the centre halves in particular) to forge a partnership and understanding. Much like we saw with Hartley and Aldred, Casey and Butcher before Butchers injury. We need to see a more settled back line next season if anything.
  19. Nicholson signs on for two years. Happy with that as long as he's a squad player, non starter, off the bench in the last 10 only, etc etc etc.... 😁
  20. I sincerely hope any talk of us signing Joe Lewis is quashed sooner rather than later. That guy is the worst goalkeeper I've seen play against us in my lifetime. I don't remember seeing a goalkeeper make so many successive blunders against us as he has.
  21. I'm all in favour of that, in fact that is most definitely the way forward. Got to remember though that this is a fans forum and most fans are unlikely to have any idea of what's available beyond former stars and players of the same league. I've every confidence the club will think outside the box and unearth a few gems.
  22. I don't think there's any doubting Turnbull's ability. I believe it's more to do with his laid back style of play and lethargic body language at times. It was clear from the beginning that he was never going to fit into a Postecoglu side with the mantra of "we never stop". I just don't think he displays the energy required to play at the top.
  23. Right of a back 3 as he has been. He's the best defender at the club imo. We do need a new CB though and possibly 2 full backs should Gent not return.
  24. For SOD certainly. I would expect McGinn to continue to be a first team starter next season. Reduced terms could potentially see us lose him to a rival. (For the record I don't know Paul McGinn or Stephen O'Donnell and am in no way associated with either player nor the club on a professional basis)
