Wilson was our best player by far.

Kettlewell won't be here much longer it's just a shame we've let him waste our money. That was dire, it's hard to see how we're going to score goals never mind win a game. Caldwell was talking about growing the support. It will be shrinking again if we don't start winning games at home. It's also embarrassing that we're charging so much for the worst away supporter facilities in the league.
-
Why? He only played against Edinburgh City so he's obviously not doing enough in training.
-
Same team as last week with Moses for Stuparevic who is bombed out the squad entirely. It begs the question as to why Oxborough didn't get a chance last season.

Aye Motherwell is being turned into a rat run for HGVs. I don't think people realise how bad it's going to be.
-
Part of the M74 is shut and Hamilton is gridlock as well. Its from an accident this morning so it might open back up before the game.

So did Stama get a work permit and international clearance?

A belter of a goal for O'Hara. Getting rid of him for Slattery has not been a great move.
-
He didn't really explain it all. He talked about the budget and the loan manager but not about how we coach boys that are out on loan and will be with a part time club 3 or 4 days a week.

It would be quite simple to keep it to 2-4 with two year contracts. As for the cost it should be cheaper to pay young local guys than older players from further afield who have higher housing costs. As for 'name players who have went on to to a higher level'?. We don't need players for a higher level and they don't even necessarily need to be the best players in our squad. Just filling out our squad with players from the youth ranks is worthwhile. Football is like any other sport where if you cut young athletes off from professional coaching in their teenage years even the talented ones will fall by the wayside. It suits managers, coaches and senior players to have all the emphasis on the young player being solely responsible for their development. Managers don't want young players displacing their signings, coaches don't want to take responsibility for the end product of academies and senior players don't want to lose their job (there was more chance of hell freezing over on Sunday than there was of O'Donnell passing the ball to Kaleta). That suits their interests. I don't think it suits our interests as a club.

Maguire was 24 when he got his final contract. The previous contract was fine. Worrying about keeping two or three 20 year olds on when he we sign guys like Amalozour, Callan Elliot, Jon Obika and Ollie Shaw every year is a bit pointless.
-
I don't agree. In any sport the athletes are always better at 21 than 17. Keith Lasley was 21 years and 3 months old when he made his debut, we don't offer young players that opportunity to develop any more despite the the massive increase in athleticism in the league. Jack Vale was quite a limited player but was able to make a decent contribution for us because he had 6 years of professional training to develop him. We seem to be writing off promising boys after 2 or 3 years of training during which time we're sending them out to part time clubs.

Foster went straight from a media role to coaching our youths with zero experience. His record as player suggests that he's not suitable for the role. From what I've heard he rants and raves on the touchline during games. At the moment our 'youth development' seems to consist of going out on loan and all the emphasis being on the boy to develop enough to contribute to the first team here while having to adjust to a part time dressing room. We've rarely had 19 or 20 year olds around the squad over the past couple of years despite the fact that the league is extremely physical and a lot of Scottish boys from this area are late developers physically.
-
I don't think that's the issue. The question is are we getting the most out of our players and is Ricky Foster really the best person for his coaching role?
-
I asked Caldwell a question. I don't have anything to say to Kettlewell.
-
I think he is more of an Ian St John style goal scorer.
-
You would have enjoyed it. A 90 year fan went to town on Kettlewell. We need to get the guy a log in on here, he was brilliant value.
-
Kettlewell said all the right things tonight about the goals for the season. We are aiming for Top 6 and Europe. He wanted to put the point across that he was taking accountability for the performance yesterday but it wasn't clear what that actually meant other than saying those words.

Livi and Dundee away this year as soon as he went off we started to dominate and went from losing to winning the match. For a player to be limited as he is in possession they have to be a force defensively to justify a place in the team and he just doesn't cut it. Robbie Crawford showed yesterday that he's a better player but daft handshakes and running around when the ball is dead obviously goes a long way with some people.
-
He's too limited on the ball for a team playing with three centre backs. He's basically a man down in possesion and which makes us easy to defend against and isn't enough of a physical presence when we are defending. If you look at that games he's started in the league we have very rarely led in games when he's on the park.
-
If we have a bad start we need to get rid of him. The big issue with him has always been recruitment and if his signings this year don't work out he can't be given another chance. He's had three transfer windows and his signings were in the minority in our used squad yesterday with Halliday, Davor and Stuparevic being the worst players on the park.
-
I don't think Sparrow is unfit. He looked miles out his depth in the friendly against Livi.
-
Considering how difficult our opening run of fixtures are we really need to win here.
-
So many words to say heehaw. A speaking clock level of analysis. The bottom line is we have signed 11 players and at the moment appear to have got worse. The idea that Callachan, Nicholson, Balmer and a striker from a diddy team in the A League are going to turn this around seems far fetched. It's exactly the same as last summer when he just signed any old shite at the start of the window.

His goals per minutes at Groningen were still decent he just fell out with everyone. He barely played for Killie.
