  1. what's that got to do with the price of fish?
  2. it's probably not the cost that is deterring potential sponsors more the association with such a problematic league.
  3. they probably could get a sponsor but i think they have decided that they want more or less a blue chip sponsor and having a wonga/cash converters type deal would do more damage than good.
  4. he's on a hiding to nothing. sky and to a lesser extent bt are the only bidders in town and with all their data will know exactly what scottish football is worth to them. as for getting a sponsor it's not doncaster who is responsible for celtic playing the sectarian card when they were on the end of 3 in a row, rangers getting tied up in the tax fiasco and now owned by conmen, hearts functioning as a money laundering vehicle for russian crooks, aberdeen being ignored by their city, hibs being a long running joke. how could any decent brand be convinced to put their name to that?
  5. right now the product is terrible. the quality of player in the league has declined greatly and there hasn't been a title battle for years. there's not much you can say in favour of the league. but even a few years ago when there was a title battle and better quality people still talked it down and there is always too much over reaction to anything involving the old firm. consider the 'shame game' of a few years ago which ended up in a holyrood committee hearing to the millwall west ham cup tie which was forgotten about in a couple of days.
  6. steven fletcher and david murphy have done well. not one of those players went directly from hibs to england either.
  7. kilmarnock. quite similar to sunday in that we played terribly and scored a controversial late goal.
  8. if that happens the EPL will adjust and charge the EU broadcasters more and they will pass on the increase to the landlady in portsmouth.
  9. we've got to pay a development fee to celtic if he plays 5 first team games. 30 grand is the figure i've seen mentioned.
  10. or that they won't knock back cash.
  11. it's not the training or playing that is the problem usually it's playing without properly rehabbing injuries and not being able to train due to injuries. mcfadden's fitness was decent when he arrived because he was training but not playing at sunderland but as soon as he started regular matches he went into decline. carswell played through an injury for an extended period and ended up needing an operation that was probably avoidable. 40% of players at the world cup took painkillers before every game players are expected to play through injuries.
  12. we lined up mcmanus and hutchinson at centrehalf and shipped loads of goals. personnel isn't the issue, tactics are. they both played well in the recent games against aberdeen and celtic when they had some protection in front of them from the midfield. up at tannadice the middle of the park was a shambles and they looked like a pair of haddies.
  13. i remembered this as being a last minute winner but it was 83. still a great game.
  14. i've only seem him play a handful of times and highlights of what he has done on loan but he looks like he has the tools to be a good player. you don't need to be a world beater to make an impact in this league. you can look at most teams in the league and see guys who contributed plenty despite clear shortcomings eg paul paton, higginbotham, callum patterson, ross draper, steven mclean, hasselbaink. as we've seen with kerr, murray and leitch over the past couple of months young players are more likely to swim than sink so developing any young players in the squad with potential to improve should be a priority.
  15. he's built like a brick shithouse with a good touch and can finish. he could be a much better version of a young lee mcculloch for us if he is brought on correctly.
  16. we're set in defence and need new players everywhere else. Reid, kerr, mcmanus, hammell, ramsden, murray and zfa is all the defensive cover we need. A new keeper is a must. Reid has worked immensley hard in midfield in his appearances there but it can't have escaped anyone that we have barely had a kick of the ball in those games. He's not a long term solution. A couple of midfielders and paying the money for dom thomas (along with erwin the only player at the club who might attractba transfer fee) has to be the priority. Up front i'm happy enough with sutton, anier and erwin (can't believe he's not made an apoearance yet). Back the three of them up with someone with some pace and we'll be looking strong in that department.
  17. they were hurting big time yesterday when we eventually got to back to the car. i might have to get on iplayer at some point to listen to the entirety of richard gordon's pain.

hutchy reminded me of lasley when signed a precontract with plymouth but gave 100% and was MOTM in his final two games against celtic and hearts. i'll support the big man wherever he ends up.
  19. he's brilliant on twitter#justiceforthe96
  20. he was too busy not giving us a pen for the pull on hutchy to see big sutty mount clangers.
  21. is there any footage of the fans celebrating the goal? that was up there with skippy sunday, lukas 6-6, hateley in denmark and keith at hampden for bedlam. Fuck knows what it would be like if we ever win something.
  22. were did all the aberdeen fans go? That must be a world record for a stadium emptying.
