  1. aberdeen at pittodrie is the only fixture we are due away from home so i think that is guaranteed. hopefully we will get celtic at home for the money and ICT and st johnstone at fir park which will give us a good chance at getting the points we'll need for europe. going to tannadice for a third time isn't that big a deal as on the evidence of the last two matches they will gub us anywhere.
  2. st johnstone have never won a major honour or even made the scottish cup final.
  3. i checked the rules yesterday. There is no compensation for over 23s moving in scotland. It is still u24 between two english clubs.
  4. a good three points and getting level with aberdeen is a big thing for us. i thought the there was 20 decent minutes in the first half around our goal and ICT had a decent spell around the hour mark and the rest of it was awful. travelling up there for more of the same next week definitely doesn't appeal. credit to gunner for having a decent game and to hammell for two great assists.
  5. is there more to the ramsden injury than they are letting on? He was originally only meant to be out for a month.
  6. i'd be interested to see someone make up a mock regional split of the 50 odd nations in uefa.
  7. hopefully next year he won't let the squad go on the piss in dublin the weekend before a scottish cup tie.
  8. has anymore been said about losing the cup game from the season tickets?
  9. i had a look about for info and this is from the official site
  10. we had 6,700 through the gate and £80,000 from uefa. if we lost money it couldn't have been a huge amount.
  11. was gunnar injured on saturday? he wasn't on the bench. i'd put marshall in ahead of him after perth.
  12. given that we scored 100+ goals three seasons in a row in the early 30s i'd say it has almost certainly happened before.
  13. over the 10 ties of the 'modern' european era the club will have made a large profit.
  14. i meant hand inverness the cup. i'd like to see aberdeen lose two finals.
  15. mccall said at the agm if he makes five first team appearances we owe celtic compensation. he was excellent when i saw him in the summer at cowdenbeath. great movement and vision.
  16. ideally hibs beat them. then on sunday clangers throws in a foran trundler in the 119th minute to hand aberdeen the cup. if ICT win the cup i expect yogi and their irish lads to still be pished when they get here on wednesday. hopefully they do a spurs who beat chelsea in the cup, partied too hard and got hammered 4-1 by birmingham in their next fixture.

ainsworth got subbed because his he basically chucked it. he was played the ball down the line and didn't even bother to challenge their defender then a couple of minutes later was given the ball in a good central position and lost it carelessly. moore was sent out to warm up straight away. playing him through the centre meant he was more involved than in most away games but he has a problem playing for 90 mins.
  18. i disagree about the first goal. look at where hutchie heads the ball away from at the corner (1:14 on the video above). three yards out in the middle of the goal, the keeper has to take that ball.
  19. he is behind the line though. we are in a strange situation with hollis, relying on a goalkeeper who we are surely going to ditch at the end of the season.
  20. we lost the first two goals yesterday because he was rooted to his line on set plays which invites the opposition to attack the ball six yards out. Defenders should be winning the majority of headers but you are going to lose some and if it's at short range the chance of conceding increases hugely.
  21. our inability to defend set pieces cost us the win. ainsworth's effort had dropped and moore did well as his replacement through the middle. taking off mcfadden didn't make much sense as he was having a great second half and looked hungry. it will be interesting to hear what mccall has to say about that change.
  22. cadden was a bit more composed than last week. it looked he came on to play against harris and help reid out. having thomas on the bench every week when it's obvious we won't put him due to the compensation seems daft. lawell was talking about how financially strong celtic are and the need for more competition in scottish football, we should ask him to put his money where his mouth is and let a young player develop.
  23. even though it was a draw i'd take that game over the two we have won against hibs this season. Ainsworth got subbed because he downed tools exactly as he did at tynecastle. Mcfadden was playing his best football this season, taking him off was strange. Hollis standing on his goal line at every set piece puts us at a massive disadvantage when the ball comes in. I couldn't believe hibs didn't swing their last corner in because we're a shambles at defending them. Great spirit to come back and get the equaliser with the 11 we had on the park and credit to vigurs for setting it up.
  24. we might not have missed out on any real quality but we have had guys in the past like darren smith, willie kinniburgh, fitzpatrick and even saunders who haven't done much since they left but did us a good turn while they were here. it's hard to tell what jack leitch has about him but he showed the value of playing a fit player in the correct position.
  25. nielsen is going nowhere without a pay off which is bad news for hollis.
