  1. what person? i don't he means doncaster because he knows what doncaster's job involves. since lawell was desperate to get the changes through despite celtic seeming to have very little at stake it is presumably him.
  2. there are only 22 full time teams in scotland.
  3. doncaster works for the clubs. this is about the 12 clubs not him. what exactly has he done wrong here? 10 of the clubs wanted reconstruction, 2 didn't. how can he effect this in anyway. as i said in the shout box he has an impossible job. he has 12 bosses and can't do anything unless 11 of them agree which never happens.
  4. good news from hampden. Well done mcgregor and gilmour. It'll be interesting to see what dempster and weir have to say now after saying we were as good as doomed with the status quo. Will lawell or milne have the brass neck to complain about two clubs holding the rest hostage? I feel a bit sorrry for the first division clubs who were desperate for it to go through but better solutions are possible.
  5. i've got a feeling that when lawell and doncaster went to london last august to talk to sky they promised them reconstruction so they could guarantee the league wouldn't be finished in february three seasons in a row.
  6. he's clearly one of the best strikers in the league as well benefiting from playing with creative players. all i'm saying is that you need to have a bit of perspective, john hartson only hit more than 20 goals once and chris sutton never managed it. higdon's playing against guys like gary warren and declan gallagher that would never had got near the spl a few years ago. ya beezer is comparing it to past seasons and i'm saying that there is no comparison to be made due to the spl's collapse in quality. again how do you think our team that finished bottom would fare this year? i think they'd be challenging for europe.
  7. nope. he's putting the chances away when they come at the moment and his all round play has been better since the new year. if he wants to really improve he should follow the example of former fatty ricky lambert and shed a few pounds.
  8. you need to account for dundee replacing rangers. but they were still best ever totals by thompson, sandaza, shiels and daly and impressive from o'connor considering his nocturnal activities. steven thompson is a good example, in his first spell in the spl he scored 35 goals in 195 games (which was enough to get him in the scotland team and a move to rangers) and since he came back up he has 25 goals in 64 games. i'd say the quality has dropped this season. our defence has been a shambles all season (mainly due to the midfield), ict have a defence that would struggle to get a game in the blue square but are still pushing us for second, hearts have went tits up, hibs and aberdeen have underachived again, dundee united have been starting brian mclean on a regular basis, ross county are challenging for europe with a team of first divsion players and dundee are worse than gretna. how do people think our team that finished bottom would have fared this season?
  9. the fact that only 11 people managed it in 35 years (many of which had 44 game seasons) and now 3 players have done it in a single season speaks volumes as to the quality of the league. niall mcginn will probably make it as well and murphy and russell would have if they played full seasons.
  10. you can't compare the o'donnell situation. we were a bigger and better team team than the mhanks when he moved on, finishing above them the season before he left and also his first season at the tattiedome. they were genuine rivals at the time which made it more galling, now they are just an annoyance. if faddy goes to celtic park for the money then fair enough, the same goes for anyone who ends up at greyskull. it's a career and they have to make the right choices for their family long term.
  11. i'm sure they said there were going to be different levels of voting. some things would be voted on by all the teams and other things only by the relevant league. on spl issues the voting was to be 9-3.
  12. thought the fixtures would be out by now. Lawell must not have approved them yet
  13. i'm guessing that we'll have a few televised games, possibly 2 or 3.
  14. considering mccall didn't even give him a run out yesterday probably not great.
  15. because we will have played 17 home games before the split. I think we'll get the fixtures we're due this time.
  16. it's the round we played steaua and aalesunds in previously.
  17. if celtic win the cup 2nd place - Q3 3rd place - Q2 cup runner up - Q2 if celtic don't win the cup cup winner - Q3 2nd and 3rd - Q2 Q2 is 18/7 and 25/7 Q3 is 1/8 and 8/8

    Dundee

obviously not radio scotland. i don't think they knew we were playing today.

    Dundee Game

three good goals for us but not the best performance. law's two goals were class. if dundee had scored their chances either side of half time it would have been a test for us but they didn't and we were always going to score over the 90 minutes. for all the talk of brown being a bad manager i thought they were fairly positive and tried to play the right way for the most part. the worst part of the game was hutchy's booking, the ref clearly thought a big man against a midget was unfair when it was a perfect challenge. away from the game was anyone listening to radio scotland on the way home? probably the worst football coverage i have ever heard in my life.
  21. A bit surprised boat signed a new deal, I thought he might have got fed up waiting on his chance. 5 years in may since his debut even though he is 21.
  22. i'd be extremely disappointed if we released watt without him getting any game time. whenever i've seen him he looks to have ability and a few tricks in his locker.
  23. he was hardly a no mark, he played in la liga and ligue 1 and got 40 caps for a strong morroccan sidea and started at the world cup. he was a class above the guys he played with when he was here.
  24. i wouldn't swap sustained success for one cup win. most of mcleish's reign and the malpas saga were torture and it gets you down going to watch a team that isn't likely to win or even put in much of a performance every week. it used to be a banker that we would lose away to the city clubs, now we go through expecting to win. a cup win would be great and the atmosphere in the town after the last semi win was incredible but the euro trips have been brilliant and unforgettable as well.
  25. that's the entire point. he wants the security of a contract at fir park but also a low buy out clause if any club down south shows any interest. considering our financial position i doubt we are setting the bar very high, it would be interesting to know how much he thinks he should be allowed to leave for. falkirk got £65,000 for pressley.
