  1. we try to sell players in every transfer window and aren't very good at it. even if we have a bidder it isn't always possible to get a player to leave. we can't just wave a magic wand and take randolph and law off the wage bill. the club owes them a lot of money for season 2012-13.
  2. that's what i got from the statement. it's not possible to cut costs this season and it's not possible to raise revenue from outside sources. if we have bills that we can't pay then admin, again, would be on the cards. if people feel so strongly i'm sure there will be a lengthy queue with their bank details at the forum....
  3. our board are only concerned about one team. it's not about us having a smaller budget than the teams around us it's about us not being able to pay our bills. as the statement says we don't have any way of raising extra cash, if they come out and say it's possible that reduced income streams from a revised tv deal could force us back into admin would people still actually want them to vote against it?
  4. in an ideal world tuesday - panathanikos at fir park saturday - ross county in dingwall wednesday - panathanikos in athens. we live in great times
  5. i'm not too bothered about what he was saying. i just thought our board was currently wilson, dempster, mcmahon, weir and swinburne.
  6. from today's herald. wtf? never heard of this guy. is he actually on the board?
  7. random conspiracy theory - the h**s are getting chucked out and the spl have soft balled us the fixtures in the hope that we can keep pace with celtic for a few months.
  8. quite a strange start to the season for us having the 5 'wee' clubs first, then either rangers or dundee, then the 5 five city clubs. it's another great opportunity to get off to a flyer even if european commitments will make it more difficult this year.
  9. title races are entertaining in any country. think back to us beating celtic on skippy sunday or drawing with rangers in the post manchester game. great days.
  10. the same points from last season isn't going to provide a title race.
  11. consistency over a season requires experienced players and squad depth. budget cuts make both those things less likely.
  12. i'm aiming for the CL group stage even if no one else is
  13. celtic's wage bill is over £30 million. even if they chopped £10 million of it then they would still have a wage bill many times greater than their nearest rivals.
  14. clubs live season to season. if rangers start a season debt free and have all their season ticket and commercial income (£20m?) they should be capable of building a team that can challenge for the league. i wouldn't rule that out. getting a real manager should be their number one priority. mccoist cost them a fortune in european income and accelerated their demise. there would be no title race because celtic would run away with it. when was the last time anyone was close to them after 22 games? also reduced income makes it less likely that any team would have the consistency to challenge.
  15. even if they cut their playing budget to £2m that's more than enough to win the first. it would be a piece of piss to sign a team of free transfers that could run away with that league.
  16. three years minimum without a title race is too big a blow for the league imo.
  17. were you at the morton game? any team with a playing budget of £1.5m - £2m should be looking at going the full season undeafeted.
  18. it looks like sky have said they'll do a year without rangers and this rejigging of scottish football will see rangers dropped into the 1st. not the worst solution.
  19. you can guarantee that the teams in the top league will keep the same autonomy as they have presently. there is no chance the likes of east fife will have a vote on top league income split or tv deals.
  20. are we guaranteed to be in the europa league play off round?
  21. i just don't see the point of starting a thread about a competition we're not in and don't want to be in. no matter who we draw on the 20th of july i hope we approach tie the with the attitude that no team is unbeatable and that we can progress. posters hoping we get pumped out the champions league qualifiers so we can get pumped again by the likes of liverpool or inter in the europa qualifier is pathetic imo.
  22. brian mclean is a step too far even for levein. i kept an eye on him in the highlights when he went to falkirk and he was selling goals near enough every week. the guy is a haddy.
