  1. any word on hutchy being fit for this one. he has the pace and power to dominate o'connor.
  2. not much. she's a bit of a looker and she posted a picture of herself looking quality on a night out on twitter. unsuprisingly the photo did the rounds and usually pops up on P&B when his name is mention. defo worth a swatch.
  3. anyone got a link to the pic of regan's daughter?
  4. i thought zaine francis angol was probably motm and was impressed by herman and josh watt. difficult to judge them though as i don't think arbroath were up to much.
  5. i just want us to make the most of our resources which i think we are doing pretty well just now. i clicked we should be currently challenging for europe but that's as much of a reflection of the poor stewardship of hearts, hibs and aberdeen as a comment on our standing. right now i think competing for third often is realistic but that could be taken out our hands without any decline in standards at fir park if those 3 clubs got their act together.
  6. if it's the case that the club told jenno to get sent off and word leaked out then it's worse than jenno acting alone. fingers crossed it's not that.
  7. if he did it then he shat on the club, his team mates and the fans during a period of crisis and he can go fuck himself. i'm still hoping he is innocent though.
  8. if he runs out at easter road and any subsequent game he'll get my support. however if the club find out he's been telling porkies or see damning evidence then i would hope they would show him the door asap. i don't give a fuck about the bookies or the polis but if it turns out he purposely bailed out on us when we were deep in the shit last winter then i'll not be happy. everyone was quick enough to castigate tevez, getting sent off on purpose is probably worse. he's a good player who seems very committed to the cause and watching him and lasley in tandem when they are on song is superb. i'd like to see him at the club for years to come but you have consider all eventualities.
  9. calling the ref a cheat is usually dealt with more harshly than run of the mill swearing or name calling. we don't know much about the bets except the one of 500 quid placed with a brand new blue square account in the liverpool area pre match and the same person also tried to place more bets also pre match. i'm interested in why so many people have such trust in jenno?. i like him as player but i don't know anything about him as a person. the world is full of people who shag about behind their partner's back and tell bare face lies to their nearest and dearest. the papers are full everyday of news of people commiting fraud, stealing and embezzling. sport has had hundreds of scandals. yet despite all the evidence that people are generally quite often dicks and the direction this seems to be moving in, a lot of posters don't seem willing to consider that jenno might have done something daft. is this faith in his character soley due to him playing for us or am i missing something?
  10. can we forget about the fucking ref? jenno was sent off. bets were placed in liverpool before the match. other people have been arrested at least one (rooney's da) of whom jenno knows. if he was already booked all he had to do was call the ref a fucking cheat and he's off.
  11. it seems pretty hypocritical for someone who has been giving their opinion in print for decades to have a go at someone else for doing it on a forum. if you had avoided subjects that had 'fuck all do with you' the majority of osb wouldn't exist. you moan about everything and anything in the fanzine (which is a good read), why can't i do it on here?
  12. got to say this looks bad. if the police have evidence of a conspiracy then he's fucked. we know that at least one bet went on prematch in the liverpool area and their may well be more. the cops would also probably have been looking at mobile phone records and the likes to see if jenno and these guys were in contact and who placed bets and when. at the time i thought that there was an outside chance that jenno had decided to get sent off prematch and word had gotten out and someone else had bet on it without him knowing. he was near the points threshold and would have been suspended soon enough anyway, he needed to get an abcess removed and he would have had a break over xmas. there was also a rumour that sounded pretty credible about jutkiewicz phoning someone at fir park at half time in the match asking about jenno being booked or sent off. i think for the time being we should stand by him, however if we recieve concrete info that he lied to the club about the incident we should be keeping him well away from fir park regardless of when the trial is. it's also worth remembering that he passed the ball out the park for a shy in the first minute of each half in the cup final. let's hope it was nerves rather than anything dodgy le tissier style.
  13. a bit rich coming from a man who has been publishing a fanzine for near enough two decades, no?
  14. that 3000 mile telescope of yours is as accurate as ever good to see higdon getting a couple of goals and good to see that he realises that his performances haven't been up to scratch. if he shows the desire and ability to improve i'm happy to have him on board.
  15. where is the football visionary these? the man was a fruit loop. your right about kenny shiels though, he and gannon have a few things in common. mainly the inability to win football matches.
  16. the juke was unfit when he came up but improved gradually and was in very good form 6 weeks into his fir park career. i thought porter was excellent on his debut and the stick he took was unfair but he showed his class and had everyone onside when we beat hibs 4-2 and drew 1-1 with rangers almost exactly 4 years ago. sutton is a better comparison and i don't think he really started giving 100% until gannon challenged him but even at that the situation was different. during sutton's first season we had clarkson, porter and sheridan so we weren't so reliant on him for leg work. higdon is our only experienced centre forward, we need more from that position than he is giving us.
  17. he is fat. maybe not for your average punter in the pub but in the context of a professional athlete he is fat. the picture means nothing, shoulders back, breath in. anyone can do it. what the fuck do you know about my football knowledge? you were on here last midweek calling him a brilliant player then come saturday we'd have been better with douglas bader up front. not the standard definition of a great player. and hopefully you mind a great deal but i won't be shutting up. two years ago i had people telling me i was wrong about gannon, last year it was gow that was the player so good 'you can't see his contribution to the team'. i'm fairly certain i'll make it a hat trick of falling on the right side of the debate here.
  18. a competent centre forward who is of an acceptable level of fitness for a professional footballer. i thought that was quite obvious. if we had a striker like sutton, blackman, jutkiewicz, clarkson, porter or mcdonald this season we'd would be in our strongest position in years. nicky law should have been the signing that made us a well rounded team, instead our problem area has shifted from midfield to up front.
  19. it makes it pretty clear to the player in question that his performance isn't up to scratch. at any level of football there are players and managers who believe that they never do anything wrong. look at mr levein with the 4-6-0 or own manager after the cup final, some people have zero self awareness. it also hopefully speeds the situation to the 'ship up or ship out stage' significantly shortening the doing the same thing over and over expecting different results stage. thumbs up for shaun fagan didn't work out well did it? what did the malpas out 'campaign' achieve? let me see.... 3rd place, great football, 3 euro qualifications and a cup final. if the fans had been happy clappy for malpas we'd probably be the 1st division just now. part of being a fan is giving the club a boot in the arse when standards slip.
  20. on saturday murphy had 3 decent opportunities to higdon's zero. the performances weren't comparable. murphy was below par, higdon made the icelandic centre half look like baresi.
  21. randolph hateley clancy craigan hammell humphrey lasley jenning law daley murphy i think we need to go 5 in midfield and as we saw in the old firm games playing higdon up front alone is about as useful as ann frank's drum kit. murphy did well up front on his tod for us in europe and for scotland u21s against iceland last season so i'd go for that. missing this game due to a holiday. the last time i missed a game at tannadice was the 4 nil win in jan 09 so the omens are good. i'd be chuffed with a draw though.
  22. cause is higdon is fat and has been shite for the entirety of his motherwell career and jamie hasn't. it's not rocket science.
  23. the vast majority of support might be bellends. however they are bellends who went and grafted for money that ended up in fitzpatrick's bank account. the guy got a hard time here but he also made a lot more money than his talent deserved. does anyone think hed have swapped any of the money to be a fans favourite? doubt it.
  24. what is contrary about those positions? kris boyd banged in 25 a season for rangers but it didn't make him a player or the right option for them up front in hard games. the vast majority of our games are hard games, i don't believe higdon has or will contribute enough when we aren't already in the ascendancy. our highest scoring season in the spl was 2005-06 (55) when we finished 8th. we scored more league goals in 01-02 (49) and 02-03 (45) when we finished 11th and 12th than we did last season (40). numbers of goals aren't everything and not all goals are equal.
  25. jamie muprhy isn't playing up against the opposistion centre backs. and as i've all ready said how many goals he scores isn't as important as what he adds to the team. him scoring 17 goals for st mirren last season didn't do them much good did it?
