  1. you're right. there is too many people in the team who's list of what can't do is longer than what they are good at. higdon might be a useful guy to have in your team if you weren't carrying 4 midfielders that can't shoot one of whom is a winger who refuses to get involved in 75% of the game. i can't see humphrey ever getting better at shooting, crossing or generally being a footballer. higdon could improve his game no bother by hard work. that's why he gets the harder time.
  2. you're boyfriend was murder apart from his goal at dunfermline during the first 9 games but you want him kept in the team and if anyone suggested otherwise you pissed your pants. yet you want a guy who has cumalatively done much better to be dropped. it's time to own up? how long have you been a motherwell fan? when was your first game? if either answer is pre june 2009 i'll be shocked.
  3. i thought las was excellent in extra time. he made an impact up and down the park.
  4. shoulders back, inhale! every single one of our midfielders is hopeless at shooting. we constantly play the ball down the wings and try and get the ball in the box for a CF to put away. any decent striker would have put away more than one last night. the game should have been over before half time.
  5. i think he'll be our top scorer as well. i'd place money on him getting 13-17 goals. however he scored 17 goals for st mirren last season and they finished 11th. it means fuck all.
  6. you'll be laughing out the other side of your face when we end up bottom six because we're relying on this lardarse. his spells at falkirk and midden show that's what he is good for. i'd disagree about the hold play. he's so cumbersome it's embarassing at times. and his finishing wasn't up to much when he wasted 3 chances in the 6 yard box. to me building the team around a unfit journeyman striker is madness. the club needs to get a decent transfer fee for murphy next summer. the team should be built around him.
  7. that could well be true. 12 months ago we had mostly the same suspects giving us the 'unseen work' patter about gow and before that is was fitzpatrick, fagan, jim hamilton and others before them. they were talking pish then as they are now. the happy clappy excuse for guys not up to the job seems to be that they do things that only they can see. what am i missing? the guy isn't making any runs so i can't be missing that. he has a terrible success rate in contests against centrebacks. he gives away loads of free kicks and barely wins any. he doesn't get on the end of crosses as he is usually stood stock still. his attempts at playing through balls in the first half last night were pathetic. the guy is overweight, slow and cannae jump. it's not good enough. we're are crying out for a clarkson or a jutkiewicz who can provide a bit of athleticism up front. he will get us goals but i don't see him scoring or helping the team much in games when we are not already well on top. craigan and clancy fucked up last night and deserve criticism but so does higdon for missing 3 golden opportunities and making the majority of our wing play redundant.
  8. hibs were shite. we made countless chances to get the third and put the game away. most of their chances including the equaliser were gifts.
  9. if hutchinson or saunders were as reliable as reynolds (or even craigan) we'd fine. the defence was fine until clancy came in, he is pish. page deserves a chance to see if he is better. straight away he adds pace and shifts craigan onto his stronger right side. hammell, hateley and craigan aren't the problem. we've been rock solid with the 3 of them for the best part of two years now. the issue is the imposter playing beside them. we put far too much faith in two guys who are made of glass.
  10. you definiltely don't start with lasley who wasn't involved. our last touch before their first goal was higdon heading the ball to no one then they hooked the ball up the park to griffiths who crossed and clancy stood still watching griffiths ball come into the box and o'conner running by him.
  11. murphy was quiet but he drew one good and one brilliant save from brown. we should be looking to build the team round the guy who could sell for a million next summer. if we don't get that money we're probably fucked.
  12. are people watching the same games as me? since clancy came in we have conceded 2,4,3 and 2 and he has looked an utter donkey every time any striker has run straight at him. there were points last night when o'connor made him look a school boy and had him running the wrong way. if we play craggs and clancy in the centre we will lose at least 2 goals every time. they're both far too slow.
  13. randolph hateley craigan page hammell daley carswell lasley law murphy mchugh fucking no chance of it happening.
  14. if clancy is playing at centrehalf again on saturday then serious questions will need to be asked.
  15. better than saturday but still not good enough. it was an excellent finish for the goal but it's not suprising that he got one when he chose to hang back on the edge of the box as he is completely useless with balls into the area. last night we put in loads of good balls but it higdon was either flat footed and no where near it or far too cumbersome to finish. he had three sitters after he scored and fucked up everyone one of them. not good enough. we are going to pay badly for not bringing in a mobile centre forward in the window. having a fat lump up front, with no pace who can't jump is not good for our style of play.
  16. i think we'll win tomorrow but i'm a bit worried about the craigan - clancy partnership at the back, i think we'll probably concede. looking forward to seeing daley. released by bradford and unemployed in august doesn't sound that promising but he seems to be doing ok internationaly and we all know that pace can make up for other failings. i'm really hoping to see murph back on form tomorrow after a wee spell where he hasn't done much. hammell, law and murph were electric down the left in the leeds and ict games but we haven't used that option much since then. hopefully tomorrow the 3 of them get right at dave mackay and we'll have some joy.
  17. the next two saturdays are games that really matter. if we want to get europe we need to be regularly taking 3 points in these kind of fixtures. last season against the bottom six teams we took 28 points from a maximum 54. there is obvious room for improvement there and we have started well getting 9 out of 9 against what you would assume will be the bottom six. last season hearts took 44 of their final total of 63 points against the bottom six. they only actually took one point more than us against the other top six sides which means they basically got third because of their record against the bottom six.
  18. still not clear about this. if the society is going to have the controlling stake then surely they get to appoint as members as they like?
  19. no chance of that. the linesman near us was an utter rhat. some ridiculous decisions in their favour. poor you. why don't you email all your celtic supporting mates and ask them how they'd like motherwell fans to behave then come on here and let us know so it doesnt happen again.
  20. yesterday afternoon was a sore one but not sore enough to take the shine off a great start to the season. i don't think we're physical enough to compete with the old firm sides in terms of size and pace. but i'd still prefer we stick with the players we have who are playing good football and picking up points most weeks.
  21. did they remove your brain when you were in hospital? firstly comparing it to gannon is pointless. gannon won 5 out of 19 domestic games. mccall has won 15 out of 36. mccall sets out a team that can win games, gannon didn't. and who gives a fuck what the winning margin is when we play celtic or rangers. in febraury knickers were drenched on here after we got beat 6-0 at ibrox and a lot of pish was posted. on the tuesday we went up to aberdeen and won. getting draws in both these away games would have been considered good results but the rocket scientists among us will recognise that getting pumped in one game and winning the other is preferable to drawing to two matches. we have a squad that struggle against the old firm but are superb at imposing themselves on and beating other spl sides. the challenge we face against celtic and rangers is a completely different task to what we need to do in the rest of our matches. we are much better playing the rest and luckily 79% of our league games are against the teams we are good at playing. no other diddy team has defeated us yet and we have 3 teams coming to fir park who look ripe for a pumping before the end of the month. why care about how many goals teams with 10xs our wage bill take off us? look at the bigger picture.
  22. they are selling tickets at fir park until one.
  23. looking forward to this tomorrow. i think we'll give them a game, if we can keep them out for the first 15-20 i think we'll settle down and play some decent fitba. even if we get rode it doesn't really matter. the big games are the 3 home ones coming up.
