  1. chiba was a good player. bernard was a defender with a fine head of grey hair. cannae remember if he ever played but he was sat at the next table to me in the moorings once.
  2. big boab was a terrible signing but he sent the fans home happy from inverness so he can't be the worst signing. i'd go for alan gow because not only was he incredibly shite but he kept sutton out the team and dented murphy's form. his final two appearances at celtic park and ndp were unbelievably stinking.
  3. i'm sure we'll be getting a striker on loan. i think if mchugh can get a few starts under his belt he will show a bit of improvement. most of his appearances last season were from the bench when we were either desperately chasing the game or sitting on a lead. he scored all the way through the age groups for us and scotland, he's looks like a natural goal scorer so hopefully he can get a few this season and kickstart his career.
  4. i think we'll be looking for decent contributions from page, mchugh, pollock and carswell next season. we've got halsman and quinn coming back as well.
  5. if he's god why would he give himself aids?
  6. he only played beside faddy for two months and pearson for 6. get davie partidge and greg denholm involved!
  7. well the lib dems and tories delayed the health bill at westminster when it became apparent everyone in the country hated it. i've got to say i'm disapointed with snp over all of this having voted for them. roseanna cunnigham has shown herself to be fairly incompetent. i hope in future on anything important or high profile salmond keeps his front benchers on a tight leash.
  8. there are already laws in existence to pick people up for racist/secatarian BOP. this new bill basically gives the polis the power to arrest anyone who they deem to be acting in an aggressive or provocative manner at a football game, travelling to a football game or watching a football game. it is a fucking shambles.
  9. it's not about those issues. it's about a stupid, ill thought out bill which will allow the police to harrass football fans more than they do already.
  10. you can only expect clubs to act like proper businesses if fans begin to act like proper consumers. i might choose to see a movie at the imax rather than the vue in hamilton because it has better facilities. i'm not going to choose to go and watch rangers or celtic because they have better facilities and players. the club only have a limited amount of money would anyone really prefer they focussed on match day experience rather than spending as much as possible on youth development and putting a competitive team on the park?
  11. some people have to spend money or we wouldn't have a club. simples.
  12. because being a motherwell fan is a 52 weeks a year thing for me and i don't think paying less than 6 quid a week is a lot when i consider the enjoyment i get out of supporting mfc. it's makes perfect sense to me that if i want a club to support then i have to put my hand in my pocket.
  13. old firm - if rangers sign goodwillie i think they'll win it. a front pairing of jelavic and goodwillie with with naismith supporting will run riot if they all stay fit. celtic seem to be quiet on the transfer front at the moment and seem to be paying the price of no CL football combined with having a 35 man first team squad and making a ridiculous amount of transfers. can't say i'm too impressed with the championship defenders they have brought in either. hearts - they've got a right strong squad now and can put out a very strong first XI with plenty of options. they spent 6 million quid more than they turned over last season and they appear to be increasing their wage bill. they'll have a good season but they are going to pay for it eventually. motherwell - i'll go for us finishing 4th as i seem plenty of room in the team for players to step up their game. i think higdon will give us a decent return but the key players are murphy, hutchy, humphrey and hateley. if all 4 guys play to their potential consistently we'll be a team to reckon with. we need a cm, lm and a striker and hopefully increased contributions from page, mchugh, pollock and carswell. dundee united - they have lost a lot of players but they'll surely sell goodwillie and get some replacements in. houston is unproven in the transfer market but i think they will have enough about them to do ok. hibs - signing o'connor is mental. i still think they'll scrape top six though as calderwood will make them hard to beat. ict - they won't be the same without rooney, think us in butcher's final season. nick ross will impress. st mirren - they might actually score some goals this season. an 8th place finish would be like a CL win for the mongos on p&b. aberdeen - they'll be utter pish and if brown lasts the season he won't last much longer. pars - being the suprise package will see them through. killie - they're fucked. nae money and 7 important players to replace. harkins is overated imo. st j - relegation beckons i think. geoff brown has apparently brought in someone to oversee cost cutting. they were totally gash last season but accies and st mirren covered up for them a bit. i think we'll be seeing plenty more 'st johnstone 0' this season.
  14. brown is a pish footballer and a skidmark of a human being.
  15. i thought jim devine was a celtic fan?
  16. since there is no major rush for this money (unlike season ticket money which we need to operate) it could surely be paid in a direct debit directly from punter to club.
  17. it's nice that your giving your own mum a break during the offseason. anything else you want to say pm or fp.
  18. abuse a footballer and you can get five years in jail. however if you're a footballer and send pictures of your knob to a 12 year old you'll get a fine. makes perfect sense. i voted snp but they have made an arse of this. instead of trying to deal with the issues that cause sectarianism they are just giving themselves a tool to hammer people who express it plus a wee present for the polis so they can harrass football fans at will. the parliament has done a lot of good things but it's horribly small minded. they shat themselves at the assisted dieing bill (supported by 85% of the public), they tried to extend licensing hours and ended up reducing them and now this. it's all about telling people what they can't do and reducing choice when it should be the other way around.
  19. check the thread 'paddy mcourt is easily the best footballer in the spl' is your exact words. if this nicky laws thing is true it's very promising. it would be a good sign that mccall can deliver in the transfer market.
  20. so you didn't say this? i'd be interested to know who could walk out the stands and do a job in the spl at fir park, i've not spotted any candidates sitting round me. perhaps there are superstars who unjustly didn't make it in the cooper tho what standard do you think there is for turning proffesional. it's just a numbers game dependent on how much money is in the game at any given point. there is no benchmark of ability required. you might say i'm a pendantic wee hoop but i come on here to give my opinion. you keep coming out with pish like this and saying paddy mccourt is the best player in the spl and i'll keep disagreeing with you.
  21. tynescastle (a) on xmas eve could be the stuff legends are made of away to dundee united, hibs and ict in october.
  22. to be fair his only ever appearance livened up one of the grimmest games ever.
  23. the last part is as stupid as the rest of it. do you suggest we start playing 8 or 9 aside because you think players aren't good enough? if whatever players you are referring to weren't professionals who would take their place?
  24. i'm sure there will a option to pay it up, they'll be doing everything they can to get fans on board.
