  1. brazilian has hit the nail on the head. we've known this is going to happen for around 9 months now but it has only really been discussed in depth whenever the club releases something or it is brought up in the media. the more it is discusses the better imo. i'm quite excited to see exactly how it will work and what effect it has on the relationship between club and fans. whatever happens i'm fairly certain it won't be dull. regarding jba's point i think we'll manage to get 1500-2000 people on board between the core support who go week in, week out and those who live further a field but want to stay connected to the club.
  2. i think they're doing it the correct. surely it is better to have people waiting for all the info to be released and talking about it than have the full concept sprung on you out of nowhere?
  3. the idea that there are guys with season tickets (meaning they're not playing on a saturday) who could do a job in the spl is mental. there are right good players who can only make it as far as a good junior or amatuer team so there's very little chance there are people sitting in the stands who are better than them nevermind the guys we're paying to watch. some delusions of granduer here i think.

    Craig Brown

not a suprise at all. i hadn't seen the thing about jones and hanley before. broon is taking pish, there is no way we'd have got jones on loan, blackburn fans and the media were raving about him after he made a few appearances at the end of 09/10. he lives in an alternative reality.
  5. obviously his mate humphrey or humphrey's bird has telt him. fair enough. get hughes signed.
  6. the idea is that whatever is raised through the various levels of membership will serve as a cash reserve that we can use like an overdraft if we incur unseen costs or have cashflow problems. half a million quid or so rainy day money seems pretty handy to me.
  7. didn't no one else read the boards before the cup final? i'm fully expecting 10,000 people to sign up for this
  8. that is fair bit of wheeling dealing.
  9. if we actually did sign adam le fondre i'd beyond delighted. cannae see it though tbh
  10. a definite naw to duffy. we're being linked with a left mid from partick call chris erskine on pie and bovril.
  11. the total wage bill for everyone employed by the club works out at around 60k a week. i've no idea what proportion of that goes to first team players though.
  12. it depends. if your on a ryanair/easyjet effort then it is pish but if your on a emirates/klm free booze, 500 movies and quality stewardesses flight then it can be quite enjoyable
  13. gunning let commons pull a ball that had travelled 60 yards through the air and turn him like he wasn't there. i think that contributed to the goal.
  14. in the way that he was constantly selling goals. the first one up at ict when he passed the ball straight to foran. the 2nd and 3rd at killie. both goals at tannadice in the cup tie. all 4 in the league game up there. 3 of the 5 at home to rangers. the first one in the cup final and he was posted missing at the other 2. obviously he's a young player finding his way in the game but if we're going to be playing loan players i want them to be better than the players we've got and he wasn't. gunning looked the part on the ball and was good in the air but his man marking and concentration was pish (he was like an even worse brian mclean in that regard) and he was extremely lazy tracking back. if we could sign him this summer i'd say go for it as he does have potential if he can sort the mental side of his game but i'd rather we gave our own players an opportunity than have him back on loan.
  15. he was that bad we finished 3rd, qualified for europe 3 times and set a clean sheet record.
  16. gunning is a bombscare. if we could get reynolds back and get a hammell/craigan/lasley sized contribution from him it would be a great bit of business.
  17. i don't see why that would be the case. reynolds would play on the left side and hutchy would be the first candidate to play on the right. hutchy has signed a new deal and getting a healthy fee for him should be a target for us. i don't think mccall would hesitate to start with reynolds and hutchy, he has left out craigan when it was the right thing to do on a few occasions before. our defence was rock solid for most of 2009 and 2010 then since reynolds left it hasn't been up to the same standards. to suggest we're stronger now when all we have is the exact same players as a year ago minus reynolds and craigan a year older is a strange statement.
  18. i'm going to out on a limb here and suggest we might start more than one centrehalf in most games next season.
  19. it's not like we were handing out debuts in defence after the semi and if we still had reynolds we wouldn't have had to watch gunning's comedy capers. reynolds and hutchy would be a superb combo. left footer/right footer, one who attacks the ball and one who sweeps, both of them have pace. i still think craggs can do a job for us next season but playing every week on the left side of the CH pairing? not sure.
  20. as i was saying i don't think he is the most sought after guy. he seems to have burned a lot of bridges down south by storming out the county ground.
  21. there's no chance that reynolds would get half the wage he is on at wednesday anywhere in the spl. i think he'll hang about for a while as he'll know that if he does that he'll be set financially and even if he barely kicks a ball in the next two years he can always come back to fir park then. to me wednesday look to be up shit creek. they spent big hoping to bounce straight back to the championship and missed by miles. now they are owned by the grim reaper of fitba milan mandaric and unless they can't massively chop the wage bill they will start running up debt again. no reason for marky to worry though as the pfa guarantees wages even if a club goes tits up.
  22. we didn't lose 3 goals away to ict, killie and hearts and 4 away to united becuase we were playing cavalier football. we lost them because of piss poor defending.
  23. with reynolds last season we playeed 28 games and conceded 29 goals. without reynolds we played 25 games and conceded 43 goals. we definitely missed reynolds when he left last season. him and hutchy would be a superb pairing.
  24. the guy is a striker who has scored 5 goals in 3 seasons and didn't do himself any favours with at swindon with his performances or walking out on them. i think he'd probably be within our price range.
