  1. i thought lukas was dire when i saw him at aberdeen but much better when he came one against the h**s and dundee united. the game against celtic at parkhead was the first game he really looked a player.
  2. i agree that i'd be gutted to see kerr back. the guy was a shirker and although he had some decent games he spent the majority of the the time shitting out of challenges and hiding. however we can't be suprised that brown is looking at midfield options. tom hateley hasn't won a tackle since he moved into the centre and it's clear they don't rate fitz and forbes. we need a left sided player and a centre mid, it's a shame we're pissing money away on casagolda, the cypriot, fitzy and gow.
  3. 4-5 vs dundee united was a great game. 5-6 versus aberdeen was a farce that would have shamed a public park. for me 5-6 aberdeen 1- 7 celtic 1-5 cis final 1 -2 st johnstone (scottish cup) 5 - 0 st johnstone (a) 4 - 1 pars (a) scottish cup 0 - 1 caley scottish cup (barry wilson) 3 - 4 ayr scottish cup (glynn hurst) 1 - 0 killie (a) the night dubordeau punched someone and gave away a pen after 85 of the worst minutes of football ever seen. it was about -5 and we never had a shot. 1 - 5 livi edited for 1-6 hibs and 1-4 ict. fuck you mapas!
  4. phil tommy coyne valakari arnott clarkson
  5. only 25 players have made 200 post war league appearances for motherwell and two of them are current players - craigan and hammell. lasley will be the 26th the next time he plays in the spl. by christmas hammell should be outright third for post war league appearances, only willie kilmarnock and joe wark will be ahead of him. in all competitions hammell, craigan, lasley, reynolds and murphy have a combined 1116 appearnces and 44 years service. both within the context of the modern day game and the context of history of the club we're seeing some remarkable service at the moment.
  6. would it not be something like section 7, article 9 rather than out of ten?
  7. it seems pretty straight forward that the attendance figure should be the number of people who attended.
  8. the three times we've thompson this year he's been brutal. at perth he let duberry away with manhandling our strikers all game, the first day of the season he let bamba away with murder and yesterday he let canning and mclaughlin grapple blackman all game. someone needs to tell the guy that he's an spl ref not a wwe one.
  9. aye hateley was brutal. he's never a centre mid and i think he's at best as good as saunders at right back. i would actually pay forbes his contract up the now and tell him to go. he's due a ramsay/fagan fall through the leagues, never an spl midfielder. why we kept on playing the long ball throughout the first i've no idea. big randy obviously likes putting his foot through it but we're just playing into accies hands, they reduced the game to a successioin of set pieces (which we're pish at). i was disapointed in jenno today, he was by no means the worst but he was the one who should have been sorting things out in midfield and dictating how we play and he just didn't do it.
  10. you've got your seasons mixed up. the world cup was 2006, mcdonald's final 6 months were 2007.

    Joe Wark

am i the only person who thinks people's medical details shouldn't be posted without their permission? all the best to joe and his family but as someone who has seen close hand what alzheimer's does to a person i don't think "getting better" is very likely.
  12. all the semi money gets pooled and split four ways.
  13. that bumps the home game against st mirren to midweek then. also thats us guaranteed to play 48 games this season and hopefully a few more.
  14. hopefully he finds a better club some time in the near future.
  15. no one stood out tonight, it was an up and down performance. i thought hammell showed the most consistency throughout the game so i went for him.
  16. what's that got to do with friday's draw?
  17. we won 3 league games in the 2007 part of 06/07 and mcdonald scored in all of them. all 3 games came after he had signed for celtic. he had a great game and scored at killie before xmas when we were bottom of the league. he had a great game on boxing day at dunfermline and scored. if we had lost those two games i believe we'd have been relegated. in my opinion, in the moday night game at dunfermline mcdoanald was one of only a few motherwell players who looked committed in a game that could of guaranteed our safety. imo he did very well in his last six months.
  18. i think the idea is the sponsors get another days coverage in the media.
  19. plenty of well fans in before a game mate. did our bus to inverness not leave from there in january?
  20. fair enough. i just hope he doesn't have to single handedly keep us in the spl.
  21. agreed, mcfadden and pearson left too early. jamie would be better following scott mcdonald's example and having a couple of seasons of being the main man for us and establish himself as one the best players in the spl before leaving.
  22. the interesting game in the next five for me is the hibs one. their three league games before they play us are united (a), hearts (h) and rangers (a) so by the time we go there they could be even deeper in crisis and we'd be in a with a great chance of the 3 points.
  23. league cup games already have lower crowds than than for their equivalent spl games. add in that some of the games would be dead rubbers and that gate money would have to be split and it makes even less sense.
  24. humphrey covers a massive amount of ground over the course of a game, sprinting that fast is going to take it out you. i think he also has a problem with leg cramps as he walks with a limp quite a lot and i've him cutting about in compression tights quite a few times. i was quite frustrated with gow, his first touch was outstanding but he squandered possesion quite a lot. he needs to be told to look after the ball more. it was a superb result and performance, we just need to make it a double on tuesday now as having a semi final to look forward to will give everyone a boost. as quite a few folk have pointed out the next couple of months are massive opportunity for us to make this a special season.
  25. i do actually like the way scottish football is at the moment is at the moment, that's why i go to games. i can obviously see that things could be better but i don't agree that league reconstruction is going to solve any of the problems. as madwullie and casgagolda have pointed out in this thread and onthefringes discusses in some detail in osb expansion is likely to knacker things more than they already are. as for solutions i'll say what i say every time this topic comes up. the only thing that is likely to improve scottish football is large amounts of investment in facilities and qualified coaches at grassroots level. that's what made the spanish the best team in the world, that's why germany have got the best group of youngsters emerging and that's why iceland have an u21 squad filled with talented players with full caps.
