  1. Aye he studded him on the top of the foot which is a textbook yellow card. As much as our referees can be poor I think the bigger problem is the players and coaches. There are so many stupid fouls in Scotland like the ones Tanser committed that are completely needless then you have a guy like Oluysana who's game plan is to basically run into people and hope he either wins the ball or gets a foul, you see him try to win pens like that every time he plays. In the Celtic game yesterday Trusty smashed his shoulder into Carey's head and Michael Stewart claimed it wasn't even a foul, what chance have the refs got? We aren't innocent either, whatever Tony Watt was doing yesterday throwing himself around the park didn't have much to do with football either. If he's not passing forward or helping us retain possession or get forward he's basically a man down when we have the ball. The only good thing about him, Halliday and Robinson being so poor is that it should be extremely easy to find upgrades. Paton and Slattery are going to look great by comparison when they come back. In his last four games Casey has a goal, an assist, has won a penalty, saved a goal yesterday and made a big contribution to the opener in the Quarter final. He's been our biggest threat at set pieces so it would be a big loss.
  2. He's definitely got a case to be made as our worst ever signing. He missed three good chances at home to Sligo killing off the manager who signed him then didn't try a leg after that.
  3. Looking at the stats on WhoScored.com and Halliday completed 12 passes in the game and Robinson only 4. That's horrific considering they both played 70 minutes. Davor completed 20 but only 1 of them went into the final third. Games against Hibs are usually a lot more open than against St Johnstone so hopefully we manage to play a bit more football.
  4. I think we might be able to appeal the red card as it wasn't that different from the one where the St Johnstone player handballed on the line at close range at Celtic Park last year which wasn't even a pen. I've no problem with a penalty here but I think it's fair to argue that he was trying to block the ball legally as best he could.
  5. We'll miss Casey as he's been one of our biggest attacking threats so far. The two up top didn't work today at all so we'll have to come up with something else.
  6. I'll give him credit for effort but near enough all his involvements were either giving the ball away or fouling. We really need Stama to come good because Robinson and Moses didn't offer anything either.
  7. The game didn't finish until 5 past 5.
  8. We beat Robinson at his own game but it's grim. I'm glad we don't have to watch that every week any more. Miller took his goals well and it was a shame he didn't get the hat trick. I thought Wilson was immense in the second half and big Ox was motm.
  9. It would be a bit hypocritical if he criticised someone for getting arrested for assaulting a woman.
  10. Aye Tony looks like he's been hammering the Just Eat app.
  11. We'll probably still sign him again.
  12. Celtic have a CL game on the following Tuesday so they will play on the Saturday.
  13. In previous semis we have usually taken around 7 or 8 thousand.
  14. Very similar to the save Martinez made from Mpabbe's shot in the World Cup final.
  15. As well as being a better goalkeeper he's a calm presence compared to Kelly. Every time Kelly had the ball he'd start shouting, pointing, bouncing it like a maniac and carrying it up to and often over the 18 yard line. It definitely didn't help the team.
  16. I see Vale is out for a 'lengthy period' with a calf injury. SOD won't be playing either, hopefully there's nothing broken but it definitely wasn't a good idea to play on and take that throw in. We should have taken more points off St Mirren last season so we owe them one here. Robinson will have been rubbing his hands watching some of our first half play so we will need to improve from kick off over the last few games.
  17. I voted for Casey but it could have been Ox or Miller. Casey's aggression is huge in a team that is quite passive. He made some big defensive contributions and played a big part in the opening goal attacking the rebound from Miller's shot at a time when a lot of defenders would have been happy to wait for the half time whistle.
  18. A cracking end to the night after a dire first 45 minutes with Goodwin and Kettlewell doing their best Steve Clarke impersonations. The second half was better and we should probably have scored a few more. Big performances from Oxborough, Casey and Miller with Kaleta doing well off the bench and Moses delivering more magic in the box.
  19. Like what? Touches and passes show up in stats so it must be something that doesn't involve ball.
  20. Ok first quarter final where you don't have to deal with mockit Celtic fans since 2018.
  21. It's our first home quarter final since 2018 so it's quite a big deal.
  22. On the subject of our crowds we aren't going to get much of an uplift when we are making it difficult for high school kids to attend and offering no PATG. Caldwell seems to be in fantasy land about who our support actually are.
  23. You can watch the highlights on YouTube and see that they are lying about their crowds. The crowds they are claiming would require about 75% attendance in all three home stands and it's clearly nowhere near that.
