  1. The end of the season in nearly upon us. This weekend will see where the silverware is going, who is going to Europe and also who will be sadly going down to the first division. We at SPLrefs.com wish all SPL clubs the best of luck this weekend. As some of you will be aware we launched our website earlier on this year with the aim of trying to be a single voice for the fans of Scottish football by highlighting controversial refereeing incidents and getting views from you, the fans on how we can improve the overall refereeing standards in Scotland, with the ultimate aim of being a liaison between the fans and the SFA. This season it seems like barely a week goes by where fans aren't lambasting referees or assistants where they believe they have called it wrong. The challenge we put to you all is the following: In your opinion, what has been the most controversial incident the referee or one of the assistants has been involved in during a Motherwell game this season? It's over to you...... www.SPLrefs.com
  2. The referee for Saturday's game against Kilmarnock is Steven Nicholls. The full list of match officials can be found by clicking on this link. Given that there are not stats for Nicholls, we thought you may like to see his profile on the SFA website. You also have the opportunity to add comments below our articles so feel free to join in our discussions, we'd love to hear from you.

Ian Brines is the referee tomorrow has dished out an amazing 63 cards in 14 games, leading the way with the highest average cards per game ratio of 4.5 cards per game out of all SPL refs. http://www.splrefs.com/All-Refs/All-Refere...p;sort=TotalAvg Interestingly though, his average booking ratio in the 3 games he has refereed Motherwell in this season has been 2.33 and in the 4 games for United it is only 1.25 http://www.splrefs.com/Motherwell/SPL-Stat...mp;sort=NoGames http://www.splrefs.com/Dundee-Utd/SPL-Stat...mp;sort=NoGames For those of you that like a punt, you might want to look at the odds on Morgaro Gomis picking up a card of some sorts on Saturday- Gomis has been booked 3 times and sent off once in the 7 games that Brines has refereed United in the last two season. http://www.splrefs.com/Dundee-Utd/index.ph...=3&RefID=12
