If the replacement is anything like recent signings, prepare to be underwhelmed.

The debt being paid is necessary, but will it give us a warm rosy glow after three seasons in the Championship? The problem is that the only figures being quoted are a possibility of seven figures when the add ins kick in. So we are really looking at letting him go and praying for their success. Cedric is a potential goldmine as he genuinely has the assets to go all the way to the top. We seriously need to cash in on this, whether it is now, or later. Half a million now( speculation) looks cheap and one would hope that we could do a bit better.
-
With the amount of cash English clubs seem to have, and the silly prices they seem to be happy paying, why should we settle for anything less?
-
Seems a funny time to be having a fire sale. There will probably be a fair amount of cash swilling about in the next few days with the English window about to close, but that does not excuse us for accepting any half arsed offers that come along. If we lose Kipre, Carson and Camden for say a combined initial total of around £2 million, it will be good news for Hutchison, Boyle and Hartlepool, and a season of grim struggle for us as we fight for tenth place.
-
I suppose £1 million plus add ons for Cedric would be acceptable. The final line of the Sun article suggests it would be a down payment and then possible add ons making it up to seven figures. That sounds like selling on the cheap to me.

Got the win required. Now show the same commitment against Clyde and we should be okay.
-
He's 35 and a brief look at his career stats suggests that he is only a prolific goal scorer for QoS. Not sure if he is quite what we should be looking for, though he will probably score against us now.

We need to see a reaction to Saturday's poor performance. Play our strongest available side, win the physical battle and, having done that, take advantage of the resulting control to create chances and score goals. I would expect more from Kipre and Hartley and would expect Campbell to make a difference. Main and Johnston up front and Frear to get a run at some stage. A win is the only acceptable result after dropping points at Stranraer. We can afford to experiment a little against Clyde, if we win on Tuesday.

F*ck*n' Jonah!

By all accounts a poor performance, and undoubtedly a poor result. Way too early to be throwing the toys out of the pram though. Lots to work on if we are to have any kind of success this season. Fitness and organisation, effort and enterprise. Without world beating talent, it will only get us so far, but it is where we are.

Let’s hope that off the field distractions don’t get in the way of a professional approach and performance.

I see that, according to the BBC, Gary Neville has accused us of a breach of etiquette by discussing Salford's " business". The irony is that these words of wisdom have come by the medium "twitter"when we all know that we should have been informed of our transgressions by a hand written note, delivered by his valet or manservant, with our choice of time, place and swords or pistols. Just proves, once again, that you can't buy class.

The stance taken by the club and the manager is the correct one. At the moment, all we have is an allegation. If and when any of the facts concerned in this allegation are proven is when some action and comment would be required.

The thought of Lightning McQueen playing for us might revitalise the Disney thread?
-
The sell on clause for Kipre could be the real money maker for the club. Given the sums being paid down south,, and his undoubted potential, 25% of his next move could well be more than what we initially get for him. Carson won't make us much, as a fair chunk of any fee goes to Hartlepool.

Living overseas, I've not seen much of McKenna. Is he in a different league from Cedric? Or can this be put down to the usual bs and exaggeration from a deluded club.
-
But he looks nothing like Hardy Kruger?
-
Job done. We move on. All about the result and game time for the squad. We will have tougher tests.
-
An early goal or two would certainly do no harm. But let’s just concentrate and get the win sorted first.

Indeed. He started out building from the back and going for physical size over ability. It wasn’t pretty and we took a fair few humpings. A six one league cup defeat at Easter Road, after taking the lead, and four consecutive four nil deafeats ( matches I attended, not back to back) at home to Celtic and Aberdeen, away to Hearts and Dundee Utd, were lowlights for me in the early McLean years. It was obvious though, that he was building and the side was improving, year on year.
-
Any comparison with what Tommy McLean achieved at Fir Park needs to be tempered by the realisation that the change in contract law since then makes building a squad much more difficult. If a player is successful with us, he will move on, sooner rather than later.

A less than inspiring piece of business, mainly because he is a pretty much known commodity in terms of the Scottish game. It will be interesting to see how it works out. It certainly went okay with Sutton and Higón, who fell into the same sort of category, though both probably offered a bit more in terms of ability. Will also be interesting to see if this marks the departure of Bowman. All in all, not convinced, but willing to give the big guy a chance and hope that things work out for all concerned.

I lost faith when they started calling Glasgow the capital. Seriously, who writes this pish?
-
Possibly talking about the likes of Watt or Crawford, so the deals fell through? Would not surprise me if our dealing was pretty much done for now, and any further movement only being triggered by players leaving.
-
Gives McHugh the chance to concentrate on his own game and find the form that will secure him a starting place in the side. With the current make up of the squad, you have to say that Hartley is more likely to play every week.
