  1. Looks good. If I were still in Scotland I would be up for some of these. Pricing looks reasonable so it doesn't just look like a money making exercise. The 91 cup win was one of the defining moments of my forty odd ears of following the 'well and worth celebrating. The only sadness are those who were involved who have passed on and cannot celebrate with us.
  2. A draw would be acceptable. They seem to be struggling though, so three points are not out of the question. I suppose we have to be realistic and accept that a win won't keep us up and a defeat won't relegate us. We do not seem to cope with pressure so maybe another away fixture works in our favour.
  3. Four games where we should be looking to get something from. Would love twelve points which would almost certainly see us safe, but would settle for eight right now.
  4. Twelve games left to assure our survival. United being almost certainly down may be a double edged sword as our rivals for the play off spot will also still have to play them.
  5. Last season we were not good enough to take advantage of results going our way at certain times. The situation is similar and we have to make something of it., starting at Perth on Saturday. We are in a dogfight but at least we are not on our own. If we are better than two of the five or six other teams in the mire with us, come the end of the season, I will happily take it.
  6. Not sure about three at the back. Might be the sort of gamble that pays off once and we shouldn't over play our hand.
  7. Tricky, but their form is almost worse than ours. Hopefully we can build on tonight and get a result.
  8. Sounds like next season, in the Championship.
  9. Is there that much of a difference between the bottom six in the SPL and the top six in the Championship?
  10. Agreed. For all Hearts' success this season, it is worth remembering the fate of Dunfermline, Falkirk and St Mirren. The thought of a season playing different sides might be okay, but the possible financial implications give me the fear. There is no guarantee that we would return to the SPL immediately.
  11. Is it time to think about not playing either of Ainsworth and Johnson? A midfield of Lasley Gomis Pearson and Cadden could be an option?
  12. Push result and a performance to match, or so it seems.
  13. As an aside, does anyone else find the quote from Pat Nevin amusing? Not what you would expect from this self styled member of the football intelligentsia. Still, I always thought he was a bit of a twat.
  14. I agree it would be bad news, financially, and might lead to cuts which would hamper the club and its development. On a footballing side it might not be all bad news. The SPFL is pretty stagnant with the same clubs to play three or four times a season. One season of visiting new places and hopefully winning a good few games might freshen things up. Of course, there are no guarantees that it would just be one season, so on balance we are better off where we are, but it wouldn't all be negative.
  15. Neither, just in need of a top up.
  16. I would agree if it weren't for the fact that mustn't lose seems, to me, to suggest an almost negative approach. Our record for holding on to what we've got is not our strong point at the moment.
  17. Is this a "must win" as some have said? Surely not, given the number of games we have left in the season. It is much more a "should win" as we are at home and above them in the table. Our slump has to end sometime though, and this would be a good place to start. A win here and a point at Tannadice will be a very decent return on our next two matches, and should be achieve able. No point giving the opposition any advantage by heaping pressure on our boys by all the "must win" talk though. We have had enough of these games towards the end of last season and, apart from the play offs, I'm struggling to think of any that we did win, so perhaps the extra pressure isn't helping?
  18. Nice story and sentiments. Makes you wonder why we put ourselves through it sometimes, but I have come to the conclusion that being a Motherwell fan and all it entails is part of who I am and not possible to just give up. Nobody I have met here in Taranaki has heard of Motherwell and my kiwi wife finds it odd that I sometimes get up in the middle of the night to follow games online or listen on mixl, and that I am a grumpy bugger when we lose, but she accepts it as one of my many foibles. The good times make the struggle worthwhile.
  19. Way to sensible for the Internet. On a positive note, though we cannot buy a break at the moment, these were games that we were shipping three or four goals in last season. A change of luck and a couple of guys finding some form and we will turn it round. Stay classy and COY W!
  20. You don't win the cup if you keep giving away late goals. It might have been a pleasant diversion but we are out now and need to concentrate on the job in hand which is picking up enough points to survive in the top flight for another season. I am confident that we have enough talent in the squad todo so, but they need to screw the nut and put in a professional shift to achieve this. We need to be fitter, better organised and concentrate for the full game. No point in feeling sorry for themselves and no point in looking for someone to blame. The supporters need to get behind the team and hope they deliver.
  21. Certainly not keen on video refs. It hasn't done much for rugby or cricket.
  22. We don't have a big enough squad to drop everyone and I'd have taken a draw from this one.
  23. Still think we have enough quality in the squad to go on a good run and get the points we need. Hope that the heads don't go down though, as momentum, or the lack of it, can be hard to arrest.
  24. Pretty hopeless stuff. Sounds like a shit game that we thought was heading for nil nil and we were happy enough with the point. You get what you deserve in such circumstances, I am afraid. Never mind that we had a decent penalty shout, they should have been down to ten men and their late goal was a lucky deflection. We need to play better to get points
