  1. If we sign McDonald too, I wonder if they are going to punt Moore out on loan for a season to get him regular games. Maybe even put Dom Thomas out on loan too. 10-15mins from the bench does nothing for their development.
  2. Tom Hateley was a good example, looked ok in a 3 man midfield, but lost in a 2. Funnily enough, Carswell might have been better suited to being an old fashioned right back.
  3. 'Play football much' implies that you play more than me, but not going to argue. With Carswell's awareness and positional sense I think he would need a 3 man midfield to be effective for Motherwell. You are entitled to disagree. At least we both agree he wasn't good enough, which is the important part.
  4. BTW, there is a big difference between 'pace' and 'pace of the game'.
  5. Sigh.....You know more about football than me blah blah blah. I gave my opinion without berating anyone else's, maybe you should give it a go. You are more than entitled to your own opinion, but for me, if he was good enough he would still be at Motherwell...simples.
  6. Not sad to lose Carswell. Simply not good enough at this level. Would need a 3 man midfield to stand a chance of coping with the pace of the game in the big boys league.
  7. The lad Louis Moult looks like a decent goalscorer, also likes a free kick. See about 3 mins in:
  8. Just wondered if it was was either Jordan White (Livingston) or Shaun Rooney (Queens Park). Both tall and both rumoured previously. Also, need centre halfs, and like them to be big lads like Hutchie!
  9. Looking forward to seeing him in pre-season.
  10. Doesn't look the quickest. Looks like a hold up player with power, a decent touch with a dig in him.
  11. Here's a link to a YouTube of his goals from 2014, give a flavour of the type of player he is. I think he is in the mould of Erwin, except smaller but perhaps bulkier. Needs a good pre-season to ensure he is sharp. By the looks of it. Could be a good signing. Remember both McDonald, Sutton & Higdon were hardly prolific before they joined us.
  12. I saw the post too. Said the next few day or something to that effect.
  13. Hopefully start to see some action on the transfer front this week with the players due back for pre-season.
  14. Nae decent press gossip is killing me. Such a big re-building job ahead, it would be good to have a bit of goss every other day. I half kidding, but it has been a slow week just past.
  15. Came from Alan Burrows himself: Alan Burrows Alan Burrows ‏@Alan_Burrows Few folk have asked about Marvin's contract situation. He has signed until May 2016 but the club have option to extend to May 2017... 2:12 pm - 3 Feb 2015 2 RETWEETS8 FAVOURITES
  16. Superward, that's not right. Both Marvin & Nathan Thomas had 1 year options, making Marvins contract a 2 1/2 year deal and potentially Thomas' a 18 month deal.
  17. Marvin Johnson for me......sensational!
  18. 6 points from our next 2 games is a must if we are serious about not finishing 11th. In a perverse way I'm looking forward to Tuesday night, but it is going to be a stressful night. Hopefully we gub them and it ain't 0-0 with minutes to play and they hit us with a sickner of a goal in the last minute.
  19. Johnson for me, always looking to make something happen.
  20. A suppose 4 points out of 6 is a good haul , but can't help thinking we blew a great chance to take 6/6. Johnson was the best on show, but I thought Erwin was really poor, and McDonald was just ok. Pearson had a pretty mediocre game too. I thought Straker was a million miles better than he has been in the last few games. Thought Long got beat far too easily at the goal.....was there a small deflection? If not, you really shouldn't get beat at the near post.
  21. He's a right back, not a left back, but yes, would rather have him than Straker.
  22. Not sure if it is wise or not, but taking my 3 year old to his first game today as I'm keen to support the team, and have a feeling today will be our day. Don't get to go often these days as both my boys are under 5. 3-1 Well
  23. Good article about Flow in the Daily Record: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/used-play-football-manager-after-5120804? Interesting to read that Leanne tried to pinch him for Hibs.
  24. Definitely not the Rangers one. It is the ex Tottenham one Gary Andrew Stevens.
